Grand Finale: The Ink Trap
Can a hidden eye catch the lies that people tell in the dark? Yes, it can. The bright screen of Tunde’s mobile phone went black. The video had finished playing. The sitting room became completely quiet once more. The heavy silence fell over the entire house like a thick blanket. No one was screaming. No one was making a sound. The dark clouds of lies had finally melted away into nothing. The big storm of deceit that had covered their home for many weeks was gone. The bright light of truth had chased the darkness away completely. Tunde stood very straight and very tall in the corner of the room near the big flower vase. Bisi stood near the wall, her face wet with big tears. Lola stood right in the middle of the carpet floor, shaking from her head down to her toes. The evil game of tricks was totally finished. The trap was wide open for all to see.
Bisi looked at Lola for a long time. She looked at the girl who had been her closest companion for many years. She looked at the person she had invited into her home to eat food and share joy. Bisi turned to Lola with tears in her eyes. The tears were large, hot, and heavy. They rolled down her soft cheeks like little rivers of deep pain. Her heart felt like it had a big, sharp stone inside it that was making her bleed. She could not believe that her friend could be so cruel to her. She could not believe that the person who held her hand when she was sad was the same person who wanted to destroy her marriage.
Bisi took a slow, deep breath to steady her shaking voice. The room was so quiet that even her tiny whisper sounded like a clear bell in the night. "I loved you like a sister," Bisi said softly. She spoke the words with a lot of sadness. She remembered how they used to play games together when they were little children. She remembered how they used to share their clothes and tell each other every little secret. She had trusted Lola with all her heart. If Lola told her that the sky was falling, Bisi would have believed her. When Lola whispered that Tunde was a bad man, Bisi believed her. Bisi had opened her home, her kitchen, and her life to Lola without any doubt.
But Lola had taken that sweet trust and used it to do a very wicked thing. Bisi turned her head slightly to look at the sofa. She looked at her favorite white dress which was now ruined with the dark red ink. The ink was still wet and shiny in the dim light. It looked like an ugly mark of hatred right in the center of their home. "But jealousy made you wicked," Bisi said softly to Lola. Her voice did not have any screaming or hatred in it. It only had a very deep, quiet sorrow. She felt sorry for Lola. She felt bad that Lola had allowed such an evil feeling to grow inside her soul. Jealousy had turned a best friend into a dangerous snake. It had turned a close sister into a secret enemy who walked in the dark to cause ruin.
Lola did not say a single word back to Bisi. She could not lift her face to look at Bisi’s crying eyes. She could not look at Tunde either. Her face was completely red with a huge amount of shame. She felt so embarrassed that she wished the floor tiles would crack open and swallow her up forever. She kept her eyes fixed on her own shoes, watching her hands shake with fear. Her wicked plan was completely dead. The words she had whispered on the video were too loud and too clear. Nobody could help her now. No lie could save her from this moment. She was totally caught in the very web she had spun with her own fingers.
Tunde stepped forward from the corner of the room. He walked away from the tall flower vase where his mobile phone had been hiding. He walked with firm, heavy steps across the sitting room floor. He did not look down at the broken pieces of the glass cup. He did not care about the cold water that had spilled all over the tiles near the kitchen door. He kept his eyes locked onto Lola’s face. His face was very serious, and his eyes were very hard. He was no longer the worried husband who was confused by arguments. He was now the strong master of his house, ready to protect his family from harm. He knew that this bad person had to be removed from their lives immediately. Her presence in the room felt like a poisonous smoke that was making it hard to breathe.
Tunde raised his right arm. He pointed at the front door. His arm was as straight as a wooden rod, and his finger pointed directly at the large exit of the house. He looked at Lola with a very stern expression. His voice was steady, deep, and full of great power when he spoke to her. He told Lola to leave their home forever. He did not yell, and he did not stamp his feet on the ground. He spoke with a quiet authority that made the room shake with tension. He told her that she must pack her things and get out of their life right now. She was never allowed to step into their compound again. She was never allowed to talk to Bisi or send a message to anyone in this family. Her time in their home was completely finished for the rest of his life.
Lola felt the sharp sting of Tunde’s words. She knew there was no way to beg for forgiveness tonight. She knew that her evil trick had destroyed everything for her. Slowly, she began to move her heavy legs. Lola walked out into the cold night with her head bowed down in total shame. She walked like a person who had just lost a big battle. Her shoulders were drooping low, and she kept her face hidden from the light. She took slow, quiet steps, passing by the sofa and moving toward the big wooden door. She stepped over the wet carpet where the water had spilled. She reached out her hand and turned the cold brass handle of the front door.
The heavy door opened wide, and a strong gush of cool night air rushed into the sitting room. Outside, the world was very dark, very cold, and very lonely. There were no stars in the sky, and the street lamps were dim. It looked exactly like the life that was waiting for Lola from now on. She had tried to steal another woman's husband because of envy. She had tried to break a happy marriage because she wanted what did not belong to her. But her greedy heart had tricked her. She lost her best friend because of her greedy heart. As she walked across the threshold and stepped onto the dark veranda, she realized the truth. She realized that she would never find another friend as kind, as loving, and as sweet as Bisi. She had thrown away a beautiful friendship for nothing. She walked down the steps, and her dark shadow disappeared completely into the freezing night air.
Tunde watched her walk away until he could no longer see her shape in the dark street. Then, he reached out his hand and pulled the heavy front door closed. He turned the key in the lock with a firm twist. Click, clack. The lock was safe. The door was shut tight against the outside world. The enemy was gone, and the house was secure once more. The bad energy had left the room along with Lola. Tunde turned around and looked at his wife Bisi. The sitting room felt much lighter now, as if the sun was about to rise inside the house.
Tunde walked over to where Bisi was standing by the wall. He saw her shoulders shaking as she wept silently into her hands. He did not wait for a single second. When the door closed, Tunde hugged Bisi very tightly. He wrapped his big, warm arms completely around her small body. He pulled her close to his chest, holding her as if she was the most precious thing in the whole universe. Bisi let her head fall against his strong shoulder. She let all her tears flow out onto his shirt. She cried for the beautiful white dress that was ruined by the ink. She cried for the best friend who had turned out to be a monster. But most of all, she cried because she felt a huge sense of relief. She was safe in her husband's arms again. Tunde held her tightly, pressing his cheek against her hair. He wanted her to know that the long storm of lies was finally over, and no one could hurt them anymore.
They stood together in the middle of the quiet room for a very long time, just holding each other. They did not care about the broken glass on the kitchen floor. They did not care about the wet red ink dripping from the sofa cushions. The only thing that mattered was that they were together, and the truth was out in the open. The wall of anger that had kept them apart for weeks had completely fallen down.
Slowly, they began to talk to each other. They did not use harsh words, and they did not shout. They spoke with very soft, sweet, and gentle voices. They apologized to each other for all the angry fights. Tunde looked into Bisi’s wet eyes and told her he was very sorry. He apologized for not understanding her sad feelings. He said he was sorry for being angry when she was worried. He told her that he should have been more patient with her during the dark days. He told her that his love for her had never changed, not even for one single day.
Bisi held his hands tightly with her fingers. She looked up at his face and told him that she was very sorry too. She apologized for listening to the wicked words of Lola. She said she was deeply sorry for letting doubt and suspicion enter her heart. She felt very bad that she had shouted at her good husband because of a liar's whispers. She learned that she should have talked to her husband directly instead of listening to an outsider who came from outside their home. She asked him to forgive her for all the trouble she had caused in their marriage. Tunde smiled a very warm smile and wiped the wet tears from her face with his thumb. He forgave her completely, with all of his heart. There was no more anger left between them. All the pain was gone.
They walked over to the clean part of the room and sat down together on a small bench. They held each other’s hands tightly, their fingers locked together. They knew that their love had won a very big victory against an evil plot. They wanted to make sure that their home would always be safe from any other bad traps in the future.
They promised to always trust each other. They made a strong and holy promise to each other that night under the dim light of the room. They promised that if any problem came up in the future, they would sit down together as husband and wife and talk about it with total honesty. They would never hide anything from each other. They would never allow bad thoughts to stay in their minds without asking questions first. They agreed that their hearts must be like a clear pool of water, with nothing hidden at the bottom.
They also promised to never let outsiders destroy their peace again. They learned a very big lesson about marriage. They understood that a home belongs only to two people: the husband and the wife. Friends, neighbors, and other people must stay on the outside of their love circle. They promised that they would never listen to gossip or bad stories from people anymore. They would protect their peace like a strong castle with high walls. They felt very happy because they knew that their love was now much stronger than it was before the ink trap was set.
The moral of this story is very simple for everyone to learn. It is a beautiful lesson that every little child and every adult person must keep in their minds every day. We must never be jealous of what other people have in life. If we see our friends with beautiful clothes, nice houses, or happy families, we should be happy for them. We should laugh with them and tell them congratulations. Envy is a very bad thing. If we let jealousy grow in our hearts, it will turn us into wicked people who want to hurt others, just like Lola.
Jealousy is a bad trap that only hurts the person who sets it. Lola wanted to dig a deep pit for Tunde and Bisi to fall into. She wanted to trap them in a net of fighting and sadness so she could take Tunde for herself. But look at what happened in the end. Her own trap snapped shut on her own feet. She was the one who was caught by the hidden phone camera. She was the one who lost her good name, her best friend, and her peace of mind. She had to walk away into the dark night all alone, weeping with shame, while Tunde and Bisi stayed inside the warm house together. That is the lesson of life. People who try to destroy other people's happiness will always end up destroying their own joy.
Also, true love is built on trust and honesty. Love is like a beautiful house that needs a strong foundation to stand. Trust is that foundation, and honesty is the strong walls that keep the cold wind out. If you do not have trust in your home, the house will shake and break when a storm comes. Tunde and Bisi almost lost their beautiful marriage because they forgot to trust each other. They listened to the lies of a wicked friend. But when the truth was revealed by the hidden eye, they saw that honesty is the only key to true happiness. When you are honest and true to the person you love, no enemy can ever break your peace.
From that day on, Bisi and Tunde lived a very happy and peaceful life. The next morning, when the sun rose high in the beautiful blue sky, they cleaned up their sitting room together. They picked up all the broken pieces of glass from the floor. They packed up the ruined white dress and threw it away so they would not see the ugly red stain anymore. They washed the sofa until it was clean, fresh, and sweet-smelling again. But they decided to keep the large flower vase in the corner. They kept it there to remind them always to be wise, to communicate well, and to guard their love from outsiders.
The dark days of sorrow were completely gone from their home. Their house was once again filled with joy, warm laughter, and endless sweet love forever and ever. Every single morning, Bisi would wake up with a big, bright smile on her face. She would sing beautiful songs while cooking sweet food for her husband in the kitchen. Tunde would hold her in his arms every evening and tell her how much he loved her. They bought new beautiful dresses, went on happy journeys together, and filled their days with sweet peace. No one ever saw Lola in their neighborhood again because she was living far away with her heavy shame. But inside the home of Tunde and Bisi, the light of true love was shining brightly, and they lived in perfect joy for the rest of their days. The ink trap was completely broken, and love had won the final victory.
