Synopsis.
Who could ever guess that a sweet smile could hide a very dark secret?
Bisi and Lola were the best of friends. They shared food, toys, and secrets since they were little girls. Everyone in their small neighborhood said they were like two peas in a pod. If you saw Bisi, you knew Lola was just a few steps behind. They did everything together, from playing under the mango tree to studying for their big school exams. No one could ever separate them because they loved each other like sisters.
As the years passed, they grew into beautiful young women. Their friendship stayed strong even when life started to change. Bisi was the quiet one, always kind and always ready to help anyone in need. Lola was the bright one, the life of the party, always laughing and making jokes. They seemed like the perfect team.
Then, everything changed when Bisi met Tunde.
Tunde was a kind man with a gentle voice and a heart full of gold. He worked hard at his job and always treated people with respect. When he met Bisi, he felt like he had found the missing piece of his life. He loved Bisi so much, and she felt the same way about him. It was a beautiful love story that made everyone around them smile.
Before long, Tunde asked Bisi to marry him. Bisi was so happy that she cried tears of joy. She told Lola the news right away. Lola hugged her tight and said all the right things. She told Bisi that she was so lucky to find a man like Tunde.
On the day of the wedding, the sun was shining bright. The church was decorated with beautiful flowers, and everyone was wearing their best clothes. Lola was the chief bridesmaid, just as they had planned when they were little girls. She stood right beside Bisi at the altar. She was wearing a beautiful dress and a wide, happy smile that lit up the room.
During the reception, Lola held the hands of Bisi and said, "I am so happy for you, my dear friend. I truly wish I could find a man as good as Tunde."
It sounded like such a sweet and kind thing to say. Everyone who heard it thought Lola was the best friend anyone could ever have. But, as Bisi turned away to hug her new husband, the bright smile of Lola slowly melted away..
Her eyes turned cold, like ice in the winter. The warmth in her face vanished, leaving behind a look that was hard and sharp. Deep inside her heart, a monster of jealousy woke up. It was a dark, ugly feeling that started to grow like a weed in a garden.
