Madam Cynthia was rushed to the Premier specialist’ medical center which was close to Fola Osibo road. Madam Cynthia had been using the hospital for antenatal so the nurses and doctors on duty knew her. The doctor attended Immediately to her reviving her but also discovered that the baby’s oxygen level shows that she needed to be born urgently.

She was wheeled to the theater while Femi appended his signature for them to carry out Caesarean section on her.

‘ oh my God, what have I done’ she paced around in the living room as her father didn’t allow her to go with them to the hospital.

‘ I have finally destroyed my family out of anger. Haaaaaaaa, I’m doomed. God please, help revive mummy. Don’t let her die please and I promise never to ever act hastily in anger again. I cancel every spirit of death over mummy, I destroy every evil plan over mummy. Please Lord, do this for me. Save mummy please’ Anu cried as she continued praying.

She was lucky enough to get the address of the hospital from one of the maids. She called Segun and Daniel to tell them what she had done. Daniel insisted she waited at home while she comes to pick her at home because he was sure she would not drive well in her present state.

Daniel drove her to the hospital even though she wouldn’t stop lamenting over how she had killed madam Cynthia and her baby.

‘ They will be fine dear, they will be fine. I believe God has answered our prayers already, so stop crying’ Daniel comforted her.

They got to the hospital but Femi wouldn’t allow Anu to come closer to him. Anu continued pacing outside the hospital.

At Abike’s corner

Abike and Adetoun were driving home from the spiritualist they had gone to see. The spiritualist had given Abike a charm to use only when she get to her house.

‘ it’s just a matter of time before you get your family back. Didn’t I assure you that everything will work out fine? If I, Adetoun say something, believe it or not, it will come to pass. Just use the stuff as the spiritualist has directed, and the sound of mourning will be heard in their house. Killing someone that steals from you is not a bad thing or is it? Adetoun asked boastfully

‘ Rara o,it is never a bad thing. For a thief has only come to steal, kill and destroy. Killing such person is morally justifiable’ Abike said smiling and then continued; ‘ I can’t wait for that thief, Cynthia to die and then get back my family. Thank you very much Adetoun, you are indeed a great friend. I would have died of loneliness if not for you. May the cord of our friendship never ….’ Abike was saying before Adetoun interrupted her with a deafening scream; ‘ Abike, look look, see that …’ Adetoun has not finished speaking before the their car collided with an oncoming trailer with failed brake although Abike had swerved making the trailer hit more of Adetoun’s side.

At the Joseph’s

The doctor congratulated Femi that his wife had been delivered of a baby girl. The mother and child are in a stable condition. Femi screamed JESUS out of happiness which attracted the attention of Anu and Daniel who were at the corridor. Femi immediately hugged his daughter and even Daniel forgetting about the moment before then.

‘ I am yet to forgive you Anu, until you explain to me the reason for that madness you displayed’ Femi said as he followed the doctor into the ward to see his wife.

On hearing this, tears begin to flow from Anu’s eyes.

‘ I don’t know what you did, why you did it and I’m not even ready to hear the details nor judge you. All I see from what happened some minutes ago is that your father has pardoned you, he only wants to hear why you did what you did so he can dissuade you for doing anything like that in the future. You should be grateful that nothing bad happened to her.’ Daniel told her.

She wiped her tears and begin to praise God in her mind.

‘ I’m sorry darling, I failed in raising her well. I failed as a father and a husband. Please forgive me. I couldn’t help but imagine what would have happened to me without you. I never realized I have loved you this much until I see you unconscious, even with my baby. I know I didn’t treat you well because of this child, but I promise you that I’ve changed. I am ready to love my baby and you in a way you have never been loved before. I am sorry it took an accident for me to realize how much of a treasure you are to me. Please forgive me, I beg you in the name of God and with the life of our new baby. Let’s start this journey again with me giving you the love i never gave you before. Please forgive me’ these were Femi’s words as he sat on the chair while holding Cynthia who was lying on the bed. He said all these remorsefully with tears.

‘ I hold nothing against you Femi mi, and not even against Anu. You know I have always loved you, everything and everyone around you. I have treated Anu with care and love even I have done to my biological children of course with my shortcomings. The reason for her anger is what’s troubling me. I’m unsettled in my mind because of this and it will take an explanation from her before I can completely forgive and forget everything that happened. And these should be done fast before it turns to seed of hatred germinating in me.’ madam Cynthia replied

‘ she’s right at the reception now. Can I call her in?’ he asked

‘ Yes, you can call her in’ she replied.

Femi left the ward to call to call Anu. He saw her sitting with Daniel as he held her hand.

‘ my wife wants to speak with you now.’ Femi said and Immediately turned, going back to his wife.

‘who is this young, handsome and responsible looking man with my daughter? Well, that shouldn’t be an issue of concern. I should meet him after all this and appreciate him for standing by my daughter’ Femi thought as he went back to his wife.

Anu asked Daniel to go in with her but he declined asking her it’s time for her to make things right by herself.

‘ I will be here for you’ Daniel said has he gave her a gentle squeeze on the hand before she went in to the ward.

In the ward with Femi and madam Cynthia, Anu explained everything that happened that day. How her mother and friend had come to her hostel. She told them all what they told her which have some elements of truth. She explained how she didn’t digest her mother’s word properly and swift into action in anger. She cried and tell how sorry she is and would never act without thinking again.

Madam Cynthia and Femi forgave her. She saw the baby and even apologized to her.

‘ who is that young man with you’ Femi asked Anu who was surprised he asked.

‘ which young man?’ Madam Cynthia asked also surprised

‘ He’s my boyfriend ma’ she said without looking at her dad’s face.

‘ whao, so you already have a boyfriend and you don’t dim it fit to introduce him to us’ her father asked

‘ I intend bringing him over this weekend before…’ she was lying before madam Cynthia cuts in.

‘ why not call him in, since he’s here already for proper introduction’ madam Cynthia said.

Anu looked at his father who nodded signifying his permission to bring him in.

Anu went to the reception happily and told Daniel how everything went.

Abike’s corner

Abike and Adetoun were rushed down to the hospital. Adetoun was confirmed dead on arrival while bike was wheeled to the theater to operate on her leg as she sustained deep injury.

At the Joseph’s

Anu and Daniel walked into the the room and was surprised to see madam Cynthia on the bed.

Madam Cynthia too was shocked to see him as well.

‘ Mummy!’ Daniel called

‘Daniel’ madam Cynthia

While Femi and Anu kept staring in bewilderedly.

At that moment of silence, a call came into Anu’s phone which true caller ID was Peace Hosp. E. Unit.
