‘ stop, please stop, you really need to stop’

These were Anu’s words when she was romantically involved with Daniel in his house.

Daniel had invited her over to his place at 1004 estate. They have been enjoying each other’s company but all of a sudden each couldn’t control their feelings. They started kissing gently and rhythmically, but the fire within continued to burn beyond control.

Anu had allowed Daniel to take off her clothes.

‘stop Daniel, I’m not doing this’ she said again but Daniel was obviously lost in this erotic moment.

‘ stop this now’ she said again and shoved him aside angrily.

‘ what is it, my fairest? I thought you were savoring this as well? Why did you disengage like that? Daniel asked in his usual soft voice.

‘ I am sorry dear, but I don’t want to do this. I made it clear before now that this is going to be a sex free relationship and you agreed. I had to stop you before we’ll do something we both will regret’ Anu said.

‘ I’m sorry dear, for allowing myself to get carried away, but I promise the next time we are doing this will be on our wedding night’ Daniel said gentlemanly.

Anu was so happy for the kind of man Daniel is, a man who respected her decision and wouldn’t take advantage of her. She’s indeed lucky to have a handsome and responsible man, as her boyfriend.

‘Where exactly do you say you parents stay in this area’ Daniel asked bringing Anu to reality.

‘ they just moved into one of my dad’s properties in Lekki phase 1, precisely Fola Osibo road.’ she said stylishly bragging.

‘ can’t I use this opportunity to get get to know where you live, honey?’ he asked

‘ like I said earlier, my parents just moved in. I have not been there, so it’s not possible we go anytime soon’ she said

‘i really would love to meet them, so I can appreciate them for raising my beautiful angel uprightly’ he said smiling.

‘ Take you home to meet my heavily pregnant step mother, and the father-to-be. Never,that will be the highest level of of embarrassment that I’m not willing to experience soon’ she thought.

Abike’s corner

Abike and Adetoun had finally gotten a very positive information about her daughter, Anu through the help of a private investigator she hired.

She’s so grateful she’ll get to meet the daughter she abandoned over 10 years ago very soon.

‘ Adetoun, thank you very much for enlightening me, only God knows how hard it would have been difficult to die without any family. Thank you ore mi’ she said happily.

‘ leave that one jare, what are we friends for? I know you would’ve done the same for me if you were in my shoes. Let’s just focus on the next step to take’ Adetoun said

‘ I will just explain everything to Anu, hoping she will forgive me, after all I’m her biological mother’ she said boldly

‘ Abike, haba, you can’t and won’t tell her the truth. Considering the fact that she’s doing well by herself and wouldn’t need your help or favor, she might never forgive you if you tell her the truth. Children of nowadays care less of biological or not in cases of abandonment. Don’t worry, we will find something that is closer to the truth. When do you plan on seeing her? Adetoun asked finally

‘Tomorrow, I don’t want to waste anymore time’ she replied

‘ Tomorrow it is then’ Adetoun said with a large smile.

The next day, the two friends set out to see Abike’s daughter at school. They arrived at her hostel with ease. They gave the hostel’s Porter some appreciation tip (money) and then told her their mission. The porter sent someone to call Anu in her lodge and luckily for them, she was in.

She came out and saw the two women that needed her attention, but realized one of them looked very familiar.

‘Good afternoon ma, I learnt you are looking for me but I’m sorry, I don’t think I know these faces’ Anu humbly said.

‘ You might not know is now but you’ll definitely know is soon if you can come with us to the car and tell you why we are here’ Adetoun replied.

‘I’m sorry ma, but I can’t leave with you’ Anu said

‘ we’ve dropped our information with the porter and here’s my ID card, we are not here to hurt or harm you. We just want to talk about your mother’ Adetoun said convincingly.

‘ their information on are here already and I think they are responsible people. You can just sit in the car with them if you’re not comfortable enough to go with them’ the porter told Anu, as she’s doing what they had tip her for.

Anu followed them to the car and there, Abike introduced herself to be her mother.

‘i know who you are, but what I don’t know is why you are here. What’s your purpose here woman as I don’t have time to waste’ Anu said rudely.

‘ my daughter, I’m just here to let you know the truth. I never abandoned you like your father would have told you, I loved you and your brother so much that I nearly died when your father took you away from me. I tried everything possible to locate him then because of you, but because I was not financially okay, my efforts were limited. Your father left me with you guys for Cynthia who also left him then for another man as I later heard.

Cynthia only came back when she had successfully duped the rich man she went with. Your father had always loved her which made it difficult for him to reject her when she came back years later with enough money. He even cheated on me with her then. I’m not the wicked one here, they are. My child, I am your mother, I have always loved and will always love you. Don’t be deceived by the gifts they always load you with, they are doing this all because of guilt.’ Abike said untruthfully while she shed crocodile tears.

‘ how I’m I sure you are telling the truth and not playing on my innocence? If you’re actually saying the truth, why did it take you this long before coming?’ Anu asked as she’s already sobbing silently

Abike knew her lies had effect on her daughter already, and she was happy she is successfully making Anu believe her.

‘ this is not my first attempt in trying to see you, but this is just my first successful one. Your father blocked me out completely’ Abike said as she dabbed her fake tear with her handkerchief.

She continued: ‘Do you know I was at your place at Omole during your 24th birthday?’ she saw Anu’s reaction and was convinced Femi did not tell her.

Abike smiled within as she understood she’s gotten the key she needed to completely unlock Anu’s heart.

‘ I came over severally even when you guys were at Ijegemo, but your father would not let me in. I came over to Omole thrice but the last time was on your birthday. He threatened to kill me if I ever come back. I had to stop coming over knowing that your father has anger issue and I don’t want to die without you knowing the truth. It took a lot of time, effort and money to be able to get you today.’ Abike lied again.

She continued: ‘ I will give you time to think about it every thing I have said today and also verify the truth from your father and Cynthia. Ask if they didn’t have knowledge of themselves even when your father was dating me. Ask them, Anu and you’ll discover I’m the victim here.’ Abike concluded .

Abike and Adetoun left the school leaving Anu in a confused state.

Anu texted Daniel that she needed to go home urgently and left the hostel without waiting for his reply.

She called her father and madam Cynthia that she is on her way home for she has something very important to discuss with them.

She drove to her new home on the island in recklessly, but she cared less. She needed the truth and that she will get today.

On getting home, she met her father and madam Cynthia in the sitting room waiting anxiously for her. She didn’t greet any of them before talking.

‘ Daddy, I want to ask you some questions right before this woman, referring to madam Cynthia and I want a straight forward answer or you’ll regret ever bringing me to this world.’ she said rudely

The surprise look on Femi and madam Cynthia’s face couldn’t not be hidden. To say they were shock was an understatement because they had never seen her speak angrily like this. But Femi decided to answer her without questioning her sanity at the moment.

‘ I promise to answer your questions outrightly and truthfully’ her father said in a bid to surpress her anger.

‘ Very good then, very good. Now to my questions, Daddy, did you ever cheat on mum with madam Cynthia? She asked

‘ Yes I did, and I think I told you that before’ Femi replied honestly.

‘ Did mum come over during my birthday and you denied her access to us, threatening her with death’ Anu asked again

‘ Yes she came but I never said anything about killing her’ Femi said.

‘thank you, am through with you Daddy. Over to you, madam Cynthia. Why are you hell bent on destroying my family? Why are you showing us fake love when actually you are an evil woman who is only controlled by her devilish lust over my father’ she asked insultingly.

Femi stood up at this point.

‘ I can tolerate any rubbish you spew at me, but you have no right to insult my wife’ Femi said angrily.

‘ Really, daddy you are choosing this deceitful bitch over us’ any said and immediately her father gave her a hot slap.

‘ Did you just slap me daddy? Did you?’ she said holding her cheek.

Madam Cynthia was up at this point pleading with Femi on her behalf.

Anu pushed madam Cynthia in a bid to give her space to storm out and madam Cynthia fell and became unconscious.

‘what have done Anu? You have killed my wife’ he screamed

Anu stopped right at the door post on hearing this.
