oga, somebody wants to see small madam at the gate’ the gateman informed Femi.

‘ Are you expecting me to tell you to give me the details of the person or what? ‘ Femi asked after waiting for a minute or more for the gateman to tell who the person is.

‘Oga no vex abeg, today too sweet me for body na im make me dey use style misbehave’ he said smiling

‘I’m listening’ Femi said getting annoyed already.

‘the woman say her name na Abi…Abife…no no Abike, say she be small madam relative.’ the gateman said stuttering.

If Femi hadn’t hold the champagne cup well, it would have shattered on the floor right there.

‘What do you say her name is again?’ Femi asked again for certainty sake.

‘ Abike from Mushin, small Madam’s relative’ he answered unmistakably.

Femi left for the gate to indeed confirm it was Abike, his former wife and the mother of his children.

‘What are you doing here Abike? How did you locate this place? What’s your mission hear…: Femi bombarded Abike with questions obviously not waiting for her response before Abike cut in:

‘ which of your questions do you want me to answer first?’ she asked looking at him directly in the eyes.

‘ I don’t intend you answer any of my questions cos I don’t even care to listen to any gabbage you want to spill out. Just get yourself out of here and never show your face before me or my children again’ Femi blurted out.

‘I am only here to see my children, and to wish my daughter a belated birthday. Although I miss you, but you’re not the actual reason I’m here. Let me see my children and I will be gone within minutes’ Abike said.

‘ You are really a big joke if you think I’ll let you gain access to my house and the children’ he said

‘John, John…’ Femi called shouting the gateman’s name who in turn run out of his quarter to the gate.

‘ take a good look at this woman, the next time I see her anywhere near this house, consider yourself gone’ Femi said with finality as he walked back into the compound.

‘ Madam, I no know you before and I no wan know you just carry yourself comot for here as I go embarrass you if you ever come here again’ John, the gate man said to Abike.

Abike left immediately without uttering a word.

‘ I will leave the fight for another day, but be sure I’m coming back for my children Femi’ she said as she starts her car and drove of.

Femi never told his daughter about her mother even when she asked for the cause of his moody state.

Things continued been normal with the Joseph’s. Anu and Segun sat for UTME and the scored above the cut off mark.

They sat for post UTME at Unilag and OAU respectively gaining admission in both schools. While Anu is to study Medical Laboratory Science in Unilag, Segun is to study Computer Engineering in OAU.

‘ I want to thank everyone of you for making this marriage work, I really appreciate you my wife for your love and care for this family. May the Lord continue to bless us all.

To be honest, I never thought this marriage would work but for the conscious effort of every one of you, this union has been experiencing tremendous success all around. I’m really grateful to God.

Thank you darling for helping my dream come to reality, you are really an angel.’ Femi continued saying

He advised the children to focus on their studies and not hesitate to ask for anything they need.

They all applauded Femi when he was done talking and Mrs Cynthia signified that she needed to talk.

‘ The Lord has really been favoring us, no doubt even beyond material things.’ madam Cynthia said

They all fixed their eyes on her each thinking of what was beyond material things.

Madam Cynthia understood their inquisitive silence.

‘ I’m carrying your baby, Femi mi. I am pregnant’ she said happily.
