” GET ME OUT OF HERE!” I screamed excitedly, flinging open the front door of the administration block.

” Where the hell were you?” Temi asked.

I waved my grade slip in the air. ” Had to wait to collect my grade slip. I feel Soo happy, Temi.”

” Happy about going home?”

I shooked my head, approaching her. ” Nope, happy about my grades. I can’t wait to show my mom this baby.”

This was two weeks after exams. Everyone had left for home on Saturday and Sunday. School officially closes on Monday. We had to rush things up. However, the student council couldn’t leave by the weekends. They stayed behind as instructed by Mrs Coker in putting things in order. They also assisted the admin officials in clearing some paperwork.

I would’ve left for home just like everyone else during the weekend but I decided against it. I wanted to be with Collette one last time. Also Temi and I were from the same place. It’d make a lot of sense if I did the long journey back home with Temi.

It’s a bright Monday morning. We were the last students to leave.

” Where’s Collette?” Temi asked handling me my suitcase as she held hers by her side.

” Probably at Mrs Coker’s office,” I said, removing a can of Coca-Cola from my bag. ” I saw her moving into the office with some file folders.”

Temi rubbed her nose. ” Are you sure Mrs Coker is in there?”

I opened my can and sipped from it. ” I don’t really know. But if we must wait for her, then we have to wait.”

And so we waited for Collette. It took forever until we got uneasy. I checked my watch. It’s an hour and half.

Temi and I exchanged looks. We were both asking ourselves the same question.

Where the hell was Collette?

I glanced up at the steps leading into the administrator office. Somehow, I knew this unexpected delay was coming straight from Mrs Coker’s office and I wondered why.

•••••••AUTHOR’S POV••••••••

VEE SAT BEHIND MRS COKER’S DESK, STARING AT COLLETTE. Collette was shocked to see her.

Standing by the doorway, she was expecting to meet Mrs Coker but somehow had ended up running into Vee.

Taking in a deep breath, Collette walked stiffly into the office and dropped the file folders on the desk. She wore her remote expression, staring at nothing in particular. She was trying to avoid looking into the eyes of the woman she’d once loved.

” Where’s Mrs Coker?”

Vee leaned back on her mother’s desk, eyeing Collette’s pretty figure behind the uniform she wore. She had stepped into the office to collect some few items when she decided to seat back and wait for her mother to arrive into the office. That’s when Collette came in.

Staring at the girl before her, Vee couldn’t help but notice what she’s been missing all these while they were not together.

Collette was immaculately dressed for home with her lovely silly hair hung in a beautiful ponytail, her skirt a little tight and higher up her knees to show those creamy ebony thighs. She looked Soo pretty to eat. Vee couldn’t help the lust growing inside her.

” That Lucy,” she thought gloomily. ” That Lucy must’ve been enjoying my Collette all these while. The lucky b!tch!”

” Mrs Coker isn’t around,” Vee answered, staring at Collette’s thighs again. ” She left for a brief meeting with the boards. She’d be back anytime soon. I’m waiting for her as well.”

Collette tapped on the file folders. ” Well, hand this over to her when she returns. Tell her it’s the last of the students roll number of the hostel. I’m going home now.”

And she turned to leave.

” Collette, wait!”

Collette stopped but didn’t turn around. She heard shuffling of feet’s and she knew Vee was standing to her feet.

” Can we make up?” Vee asked touching her shoulder. ” We haven’t been on the best terms ever since school resumed this term.”

” Too bad,” Collette said, removing her hand off her shoulder. ” I’m not ready to make up right now.”

” Don’t be such a hard-@ss. I’m trying to fix things up between us, Collette. I’m worried about you, about us?”

” Don’t worry about me,” Collette said. ” I’ll be fine. You should be more worried about your wedding and your happy married life, MÔM.”

Vee walked around and stood before Collette. Collette looked up and met her eyes.

For a while they both stared at each other and Vee couldn’t help but notice how shiny Collette’s eyes were against the sunlight coming through the window. She had to check an impulse from grabbing her in her arms.

She failed and held Collette’s face but Collette slapped her hands away.

” Don’t ever touch me again!” Collette’s voice rang out with a rasp that chilled Vee.

” Listen, can we just pretend it didn’t happen?” Vee asked. ” This is getting kind of old.”

” Pretend what happened?”

” Efua’s death. I know you’re still awfully hard on yourself over her death. But you have to learn to accept situations as it is and move on, Collette.”

Collette shoved Vee in the chest. ” You selfish b!tch! Never you mentioned that name to me. You’re not fit to call her name!”

” Don’t pull that with me, Collette,” Vee said, her voice rising. ” She chose to die. It’s nobody’s fault.”

” So no one’s to be blamed?” Collette asked. ” You should feel guilty as well. You put this whole thing in motion. Your creation of the LILIES made us all depressed.”

” That’s not true,” Vee shot back.” You girls chose your own paths. I had nothing to do with Efua’s depression. She could’ve talked to someone. She could’ve talked to me. Efua was also my favorite student. I would’ve done anything to save her if only she had opened her mouth.”

” Who cares what you would’ve done?” Collette voice went up a note. ” She died, MÔM! She’s gone! We’ll never see her again. Because of you, she’s dead! Efua’s dead!”

Vee heaved heavily. ” Collette, I never meant for this to happen! I wish I could’ve done a million things.”

” You didn’t have to do a million things!” Collette said, sniffing. ” All you had to do was one.”

” And what would that have been?”

Collette pointed at her face. ” End the LILIES and give everyone back their freedom.”

Vee held her shoulder. ” Collette listen, can we just pretend it didn’t happen? Why can’t we just start over? I’m sorry already. I’m sorry it happened.”

” You make it sound as if it happened by itself,” Collette said. ” In case you didn’t realize, you’re the one responsible. You did it, Understand?”

” Collette, why can’t you let the past off? I still love you. I really do.”

Collette pulled away from her hands. ” Because I don’t love you anymore. Get that through your d--n skull and leave me alone.”

And she made for the door. Before she could touch the door handle, she felt Vee’s cold hands grabbing her wrist.

Vee turned Collette over and covered her mouth with hers.

Collette’s eyes grew as she felt Vee’s mouth open against hers. She could feel Vee’s cold hands traveling up her smooth thighs into her skirt.

” Stop!” Collette struggled against her. ” Stop doing this!”

Vee backed her against Mrs Coker’s desk, crushing her body on Collette’s.

Collette struggled, her mouth still captured in Vee’s mouth.

” Oh Chi-Chi,” Vee’s hand went inside Collette’s underwear and held the flesh between her legs. ” I missed this Soo much. I want you right now.”

Collette gasped. She raised her hand high in the air and brought it down hard on Vee’s cheek.

SMACK‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

Vee pulled away and held her cheeks. She looked up to see Collette’s breathing heavily, glaring at her like an enraged bull.

” You animal!” Collette yelled at her and it shocked her to see tears in Collette’s eyes. ” Why did you let this happen?”

Vee didn’t say anything. She couldn’t.

Rubbing the back of her hand over her mouth, Collette walked out of the office and slammed it shut.

I saw Collette stepping out of the adminstration block, her usual calm deadpan expression on her face.

” Where have you been?” Temi cried. ” You’re awfully late. I don’t want to miss the bus.”

” Been busy,” Collette glanced over at me. I was smiling up at her, admiring her hair which I had fixed into a ponytail earlier this morning. ” Let’s go.”

Collette escorted us to the Travellers Ventures; a luxurious road transport company that owns many busses conveying people to different parts of the country.

It was my first time traveling to my state on my own in a bus. Mom always went around with me but now I was going to have a whole new experience ahead of me and Temi was beside me to accompany me home.

Collette stood before Temi and I, watching as our suitcase was loaded. We’d already paid the transportation fee and other necessary stuff. All we had to do was get into our seats and zoom off.

Luckily for Temi and I, we were given the front seat so we got to seat before the driver. People stared at the three of us, admiring our neat uniforms with respect.

For the first time in my life, I felt proud to be a student of Q.A.

” Well, this is it,” I said, feeling sad and broken about leaving Collette. Collette lived right here in ENUGU state so she’s isn’t traveling anywhere. Her house was some few Streets away. I whined about seeing her house but she refused.

” Yes,” Collette’s hard eyes moved from me to Temi. ” Take care of her, Temi.”

Temi winked at me. ” You don’t have to worry about that, Collette. Lucy’s in safe hands.”

Collette stood back and watched us as we got into the bus. The driver was starting the engine.

Just as I was about getting into my seat, I immediately got down and ran up to Collette.

Before she could move a muscle to stop me, I hugged her tightly. ” I’ll miss you, Collette.”

She could’ve pushed me away but she didn’t. ” Lucy, were in public. Control yourself please.”

” I will,” I smiled then whispered in her ears. ” I–LOVE–YOU!”

Her eyes grew and she let out a deep breath. ” It’s alright, Lucy. Get going.”

I left her and ran into the front seat, closing the door as the bus began moving. Apparently no one was interested in what just happened between Collette and I, only Temi but Temi understood so she kept quiet about it.

Collette watched us move.

I leaned my head over and blew her a kiss.

She stared at me, her face expressionless, her eyes hard and cold.

LAGOS at last!!!!

It was a little after 8:24.pm when we arrived. Lagos traffic was as crazy as hell. We had to wait in the traffic for over an hour.

But finally we were home. It was good to see the hustling and bustling night life of one of the most busiest city in the country.

Temi and I took a taxi to Lekki. I was happy to know Temi lived five streets away from my house. I promised her I’d visit during the Christmas celebration. We exchange numbers and address as the taxi driver dropped me off at my home.

My new home to be precised.

Mom had sent me the address of our new home. As an engaged woman, her husband to be, my stepfather that is, insisted she come stay at his house till after the wedding.

I wasn’t thrilled about meeting my new dad. Mom told me over the phone she’d be at home to prepare a family dinner party to celebrate my welcome.

I would’ve been excited by it if only my new dad wasn’t going to be involved.

After Temi drove off in the taxi, I stood before my new home and studied it, my mouth opening.

It was an estate.

A big lovely place with hundreds of houses of the same building design, flowers and trees. I knew this place. It’s called REKO HOME AND SUITE.

REKO HOME AND SUITE was one of the most expensive place to stay in Lekki. Temi was surprised at my new home. She had asked if I had a rich father and all I said to her was….

” I guess so!”

Well, here I am. Let’s see what I’m expecting. I walked through the estate, watching for my home number which was 45.

While walking, a boy skate boarded passed me. He was tall and flashy but he didn’t pay any attention to me. He stopped at a house opposite me and ran in.

Boys. I wondered if I was going to be seeing more of them around here. Unlike the old me who would’ve been excited by this, I wasn’t any longer. My love for Collette had crowded out any care I might’ve had for the opposite s£x.

At last I saw my home. HOME 45.

I saw two cars parked in front of the luxurious building. A dark range Rover and mom’s car.

Hmm… step dad must be very rich.

Approaching the heavy wooden door, I ranged the doorbell and stood back, my heart beating against my chest.

It was night and the lights from inside the house scared me. I don’t know why but I just felt something wasn’t right inside that house.

The door creaked opened and slowly turned.

Two feet stepped outside the house and the lights from the moon came up to her eyes.

I took a step back letting my suitcase fall to the ground. My mouth opened and closed, my heart froze and my heart began Racing faster and faster.

Standing before me was Collette. Her long silky hair was cut in loosed dreadlocks with a touch of yellow dyes at the tip of the hair covering her dark eyes. She reminded me of juice wurld with that hair cut. She was wearing a red hood with Juice Wurld photo printed on it and there were tattoos on her right hand.

She stared at me, her eyes bored and alive. ” Hi, you must be my new stepsister.”

I didn’t say anything. I could only stare at her, my mouth hanged, my eyes wide from shock.

Ehhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
