ALARMING.
Folake saw Mr. Baldhead coming which startled her, she quickly
bundled Emeka beside the slab where they were kissing and
asked him to stay put. At first, Emeka was confused why Folake
wanted him to hide but then he had to oblige inorder not to
destroy her image in the church. Emeka hid there hoping not to
get caught and there was a small opening where he could see
through. Folake had since re-arranged herself and pretended as
if she was reading the bible. Mr. Baldhead was walking
vigorously like a soldier towards their direction, his eyes were
concentrated at the front. He had almost gotten to their stance
then Folake stepped out.
“Good afternoon, brother Timothy” folake greeted.
“Haha! Sister Folake, come and give me a hug” timothy
demanded.



On a normal day, Folake would reluctantly agree to his demand
but because of the situation she founded herself she had no
choice but to hug him. Timothy collected the hug with an open
arm while patting her on the yansh and with a big grin on his
face. Emeka was fuming in anger as he watched them through
the small hole, he had not been priviledge to hug her so madly
and somebody else was doing it in his presence, they retracted
their body from one another and Emeka saw that Timothy has
had an e`rection but folake was oblivious, no choir master would
have an e`rection from huging a sister without having any bad
thought in his mind, Emeka thought to himself.
“So what were you doing there?” Timothy asked pointing to the
place folake stepped out from.
“Hmmm, i was looking for a quiet place to study the bible verses
the pastor gave us before i go home then i found here” folake
lied.
“Alright, so what do you have to say about my request?” timothy
asked.
“Actually, i’m still thinking about it” folake replied bluntly.
“Please think about it very well, i’m expecting to hear from you
soon” Timothy replied and left almost immediately.
When he had gone, Emeka breath a sigh of relief and stood up
from where he was hiding, he had escaped being caught for the
third time in two weeks, his legs became weak because of the
inability of bloodstream to circulate through his veins.
“Let’s leave here now, i don’t like this place” folake said
dragging Emeka again.
They treked back to their street because the church was around
the neighbourhood, Emeka had been asking Folake what the
request Timothy said was all about but she refused to tell him.
Emeka then increased his pace and started to walk away from
her.
“Chidi, wait! Why are you leaving me behind naw.” folake
complained with a sad look.
“What do you expect since you don’t trust me enough to disclose
what your choir master was talking about” emeka lamented as
he stopped to face her.
“It’s not what you think, he only asked me to start coming to his
house for choir lessons since i’m a new comer but i refused.”
folake said.
“And why is that?” emeka asked puzzled.
“I don’t easily trust guys plus i usually see him with different girls
in church.” folake explained.
“Then why did you refused to tell me initially?” emeka asked still
confused.
“I was scared to lose you, you’re the only guy i trust.” folake
said.



Emeka had known Folake weak point, all he needed to do was
pretended to be angry with her and she would give in, he also
saw sense in what folake said, a genuie choir leader would not
get an e`rection from hugging a fellow sister coupled with the
huge smile on his face, also, it was supposed to be Folake
begging Timothy to teach her choir lessons and not the other
way round, he suspected foul play, a player knows another player
when he sees one, Mr. Timothy was definately up to something.
“Don’t worry, i shall get to the root of everything” emeka assured
folake and then they departed to each others house.
Emeka walked inside his house and went straight to the kitchen,
he served himself but not after pressing four big meats under the
fried rice. When he was done eating he went into his room and
brought out his phone from his pocket, he dialled monica’s
number and she picked at the first ring. They finalize the date
which was going to hold later that day and agreed to meet in an
open eatery inside the city. Emeka smiled, time to get back his
N900 in kind.
