Must Read: Awkward Ways I Met Girls

First of, one may have always heard about Abuja. Different stories of how expensive it is to stay there, how morally bankrupt the people are. But in my opinion the Federal Capital Territory is a relatively cheaper place to stay than many other cities. I don’t see morally bankrupt girls, I see young people having fun.

Anyways, the ease of life is just terrific. Less stress, if any at all. For less rates you can get around town easily. And if you are used to Lagos traffic, you’d find this place very relieving.

Most areas are carved out according to purposes.

Some places are business minded areas like the Central Business District, etc. While others are strictly residential. And these zones have recreational gardens all around them. Some gardens with swings, and other relaxing infrastructure. The flowers and grasses are regularly trimmed.

Some have basketball courts and other facilities.

The very common areas are Wuse (with Zones 1, 2, 3 etc., Maitama, Garki (with Area 1, Area 2 and so on, Utako etc.

The other places that make up Abuja alongside FCT are Kubwa, Gwagwalada etc.

Ok.

I stay at Garki, Area 2 with my uncle.

Ifeanyi stays at Area 11. Accommodation is about the only scare people have of this place called Abuja. Ifeanyi rented the place with his brother.

They shared the cost in half. Its a two bedroom.

So Ifeanyi has one of the rooms while his brother has the other. But his brother was away in Malaysia. So Ifeanyi more or less, lived alone in a two bedroom.

Life in FTC is decent and really cool. Easy and friendly people. Yes, there are the ostentatious ones. Possibly those linked in a way or another to oil companies, politicians or Advanced Fee Fraud: Scams, yahooyahoo etc.

But there are puritanical wealthy men who are not as lousy as the afore-mentioned. Men who forged their paths with their own hands, tilled the ground while the sun blazed and the god of fortunes smiled down on them heavily.
One of this type of thoroughly rich men we are about to meet shortly…

The day went by pretty fast. And in fact the week was even faster. In a flash, it was weekend again.
I had just gotten into a consulting firm. A one man company and I was to resume work the next week. Monday.

Anyways, I had to meet a guy who needed me to help him sort some things out with a project he was writing. And since I was going to get paid, I agreed to help the research.

We were to meet at Bolingo Hotel’s Internet Cafe. I arrived earlier than the time we agreed to so I went to the pool side and took a bottle of malt. While I sat looking at people having fun.
Some guys had come with some ladies to learn and practice swimming because they intended to enter for Gulder Ultimate Search and one of the skills tested for was swimming.

Somehow, I got talking with them. I was already having fun when the guy called so I left them and entered the main building. I went through the guards and past the nice arts by the corrider inside and on the left, entered the computer business centre.

We worked, collated materials and analysed. It was an hour and half later when I was ready to leave.

On my way out, I decided to check at the pool side before I left. And sitting at the table I sat earlier was one of the girls who came to learn swimming.

I went over to same table
“Hi” I said
“Hi” she replied
“I can see you are tired”
“I am cold” she said
We got chatting and I took another drink. She wouldn’t have any of that. She insisted she was cold.

We chatted a bit and I asked for her name.

“Why do you want to know my name” she retorted
I just laughed it off and said
“You are about to become a celebrity nau, so when I see you on the TV I’d know who to vote for”
She felt teased and dropped her defences a bit
“You’re funny”
“It won’t be funny when you suddenly become a celeb. So what’s up”
“But you haven’t even said your own name”
“Oh! Sorry, I am Stag”
“Ok. Orobosa Ivie.”
Nice.

The way i like a lady. Playing hard to get should be left for teens. And I took out my fone and opened the facebook application and in seconds I had searched the name out.

“You look much younger here o” I said to her while looking at my phone
When I looked up, she was just looking blankly at me. She hadn’t realized I was sending her a request.

Then I turned the phone to her to see
“Oh that was last year…”

We got talking some more and she brought out her phone and accepted me.

Happily, after making a little cash and meeting a nice looking and speaking girl, I left. Area 2 is not so far, so I decided to walk. Past Ministry of Defence straight up to Area 10 junction and turned right, still on the pavement, I walked to Area 2.

When I got the the library I turned right. Yes, somewhere behind the Area 2 shopping complex is where I stay.

Just as I was on the road between the library on the right and shopping complex on the left, my pfone rang.

Josh.

“Dude what’s up?! Its Friday baby!!!” Josh was excitedly saying
“Yeah, anything up?”
“Where you bro?”
“I dey my area. How far”
“Come play a bit dude. Its friday. Relieve some stress bro”
“So what’s up?
“Lemme come over”
“How long?”
“In 20. Or less”
True to that, Josh came around in less than 20 minutes. I hopped in and we headed straight to SOHO…
