I woke up after a very long nap, the unfamiliarity of the room struck me. I rolled on the bed but couldn’t complete the circuit cos of an obstruction.


While rolling my hands fell on something chubby.


With diligent speed i changed my posture from a sleeping one to a sitting position.


With fear my eyes scanned through the dark room as i was uncertain of my location. I stood up and used the wall as a guide luckily my hand touched what felt like a light switch which i turned on.


“Blessed saviour”, i muttered.


My eyes scanned the now familiar room. Corper Ifeoma’s huge picture portrait of her in her NYSC regelia caught my eyes.


I switched off the light and went to the parlor, switching on the light i stole a full glance at the wall clock.

’12:05′ , the digital clock made reading the time easier. If there wasn’t total silence i would have sworn that it was midday not midnight.


My legs found it way to the bathroom as i went unclad and turned on the shower.


While still washing my body with the soap i found on the soap rack my thoughts triggered different reactions.


I didn’t know if i was to get happy for the fact of sleeping on the same bed as Corper or afraid on the fact of sleeping out of the hostel a big offense that can cause my expulsion from the school.


With the available towel in the bathroom i wiped my body dry, wore my boxers and singlet and headed into the parlor.


‘why will she allow me sleep in her room’
I remembered popular sermons from my father about ladies who are sent from the Marine kingdom to ruin your destiny.


It hasn’t been long the SBHM was on my neck for being absent though i was saved by Corper Ifeoma now she is the cause of my repeated offence. She can’t help me now.


I couldn’t even close my eyes while laying on the family sized seater.


“you even had the guts to snore and wet my bed with your sweat”, i heard a voice said.



A voice that sounded like corper’s.


True to my guess i looked towards the door leading to the bedroom and saw Corper standing looking at me i also saw another thing standing looking at me.
