Skylar’s eyes spilled open.
But El Crow wouldn’t let go.
His fingers pressed into her tummy flesh, and it was surprisingly soft. For a tough slut like her, he expected something close to steel for her skin, but here she was with a skin softer than a poisoned feline’s.
His thumb brushed her navel ring again—unintentionally.
“Let go, cocaineboy!” She seethed.
“Already?” He sounded, right beside her ear shell as his head was still balanced on her shoulder.
“Don’t you hear the voices coming from outside? They’re already putting out the fire, and they’ll soon come in!” She spat, trying to tear herself away from him again.
He intentionally brushed his thumb over her navel ring, pressing it.
“I’m going to slaughter you, El Crow!” She pushed her elbow his stomach.
“Return the compliment. I just said you smelled good. The least you could do is say the same, cos I know I do too.” He smirked coldly.
“Why would I compliment you?” She nearly laughed.
He got a hold of her dangling navel ring, pulling it hard.
“Fuck!” She cussed, seething more, nearly bursting. “You smell far from good. You smell like Jim Crow!”
He pulled the navel ring against her navel flesh again.
“You undesirable bitch!!” She yelled, trying to thrash, but like this, she was completely trapped.
Yeah, he smelled so good too. She always liked the smell of rainfall, and this bastard smelled like rich rain.
But she was never gonna tell him.
She should have suspected he had a plan when he held her from the back.
This bastard.
And of course their super strength is active now, but normally, his own is more cos she’s the one who failed to kill him in Aftermoor anyways.
Inferno made his own super strength higher. At this point, she had no idea who she hates more.
Inferno or this bastard here.
He pulled her navel ring again.
“You smell addictively good too!” She said between clenched teeth. “Now let go of me, cocaineboy!”
El Crow released his arms around her, and her body jerked forward, but she didn’t rest still.
The next swift turn she made? Her leg swivelled up anticlockwise. She successfully kicked him in the face.
El Crow laughed madly, looking even intrigued with that kick.
“You wacky thing!” She spat. “Touch me again, and I’ll—”
“Now stop singing those empty threats to my ear.” He cut in as his face froze back, laughter seizing. “If you’re going to do anything, just come straight for it, cumslut.”
Skylar dusted her clothes like it’d take his presence away from them, and that was when she noticed they both wore leather pants.
Difference is he wore long pants but she wore knee-level.
But both pants were loose.
“This night gets uglier and uglier.” She hissed.
El Crow sat back on that unburnt chair, looking undisturbed.
He dug out his phone and began pressing.
Skylar looked at him.
“That stupid hug we just had ain’t enough. We need more. Matter of fact, I haven’t memorized your scent yet. I need more time.”
“So? You wanna hug me again?” He smirked without looking up.
“Scratch that.” she inhaled. “Let’s spend a day before the start of the tournament together.”
He finally looked up, smirk deepening. “You expect me to say yes to that, right?”
“You—”
“No!” He shot up, meeting her height. “Of course I’d love to fight you for as long as I want in the ring without your heartache interfering, but at the same time, it doesn’t sound bad to spent just five minutes in the ring and beat you easily. Our team lost the last match so I could use your easy elimination to avenge for them.”
With that, he walked past her, intentionally bumping his heavy shoulder on her own.
He went for the door as the fire was completely down now.
“Asshole, wait!” She hollered.
“I’m not spending a whole day with you,” he replied without waiting.
“We can strike a bet at the end of that day, and we’ll take whatever we want from each other!” She said.
And that was enough to make him stop. He smiled darkly before turning around to face her again.
“Sure. One day with you then.”
Skylar folded her arms, glowering at him, but he glared right back.
They stayed that way, tasering themselves with their eyes.
A downpour of water spilled into the hall from the door, putting out the remaining burning flames.
They both whipped around to see firefighters rushing inside with their pumps and gears.
The firefighters stopped immediately they sighted the two of them.
They expected to meet the two with scalded bodies and fire damages on their faces, but nothing.
Skylar and El Crow even looked fresher than the people who escaped the hall successfully.
Level one explosives, and they looked this fine and unhurt?
The firefighters looked around the hall again. Every part of the hall was burnt to ashes and charcoals except the middle where Skylar and El Crow stood together.
How’s that possible?
“El!!” Bellatrix rushed inside next, not minding the way her dress dragged the dirty, burnt floor.
She flew to El Crow.
No time to think about how he didn’t get burnt. She hugged him tight, crying slowly like a baby.
“I was so scared when we all got outside and didn’t see you and Skylar. We thought you both got swallowed by the explosion already.”
El Crow didn’t want to hug her back, but when he saw Jethro and the rest coming inside, he hugged her.
Her tears was wetting his singlet, and he hated it. Can she be less of a baby?
He always hated crybabies.
“Son!” Arturo joined them with a relieved sigh. “Why didn’t you run when everyone was running?”
“You think I didn’t want to run?” El Crow retorted. “The door caught fire immediately y’all ran out. It trapped me and this cumslut inside as if someone planned it.”
As he talked, his eyes were on Jethro. He knew he never liked that man, and evidences were gathering now.
Jethro came closer, touching El Crow’s shoulder slowly.
“Glad you were able to survive the fire, son-in-law. You proved beyond line that you’re eligible to be my daughter’s man.” He commented.
El Crow’s face rolled into a darker smirk after Jethro said that.
He looked at Jethro with unreadable unfriendly eyes.
He broke his hug with Bellatrix.
Marisa came close to Skylar, touching her hair fondly.
“I’m glad you’re safe, Tall Doll.” She smiled. “I knew you’d survive.”
“I did.” Skylar managed to smile.
Satan and her twin girls stayed still by the door.
“They didn’t even get a scratch?” Rosita muttered. “This is weird.”
Satan was quietly looking.
Roselle’s fists rounded.
Of course those two won’t get burnt cos they have healing ability which she doesn’t have.
As she watched the scene in front of her, her fist rounded harder. Especially now that Bellatrix held El Crow’s arm like his legal wife.
Bellatrix needed to die, soon.
Ten minutes later, the burnt hall became empty as everyone exited.
Jethro was the first to drive away with his daughter and staffs.
Then, Arturo and El Crow drove off in their different cars.
Skylar jumped on her bike, speeding off dangerously.
Marisa got in her car with her stewards next. Her female steward stayed with her at the backseat while the male steward drove.
Marisa pulled out a hidden drawer below her seat.
She was completely relaxed as she opened the box and brought out Skylar’s doll form.
She stroked the doll’s hair as her chair rocked her.
“Tall Doll didn’t get burnt in the hall. What is she keeping from me? What power does she posess?”
Her voice was low, but oddly, it webbed around the car as it drove down the smooth tar.
Now it was just Satan and her twins left in front of the burnt hall.
“What are we waiting for?” Rosita faced her mother.
“Let’s leave this place!” Roselle stumped her foot.
Before Satan could answer, another car pulled up, and Midnight stepped out like the son of darkness in one of his usual oversized black coats.
“You both return to the house with Midnight. I have somewhere to go,” Satan informed and got in her car.
She drove off.
“This is crazy.” Roselle scoffed. “No one hates tonight more than me.”
“Get in the car, you both.” Midnight opened the car door.
Roselle angrily got in the car, but Rosita didn’t move.
“Go with Roselle alone,” she said. “I have somewhere to be too.”
Thankfully, a taxi was riding down that road. She waved it down and drove away in it.
Midnight took Roselle away too.

[Jethro’s House]
The house returned to it’s usual ominous condition immediately the inhabitants returned.
Only few of the dim lights were left on, and the staffs could be seen parading the house environment, weapons intact under their suits.
The fall of a feather would be detected instantly.
The protection was insane.
Bellatrix went to bed immediately after her shower, but Jethro himself stood by the floor-to-ceiling window of his study with a glass of iced wine.
He stared out at the dark compound through the window.
His face remained stoic.
His mind still dewelled on what happened in that hall.
They didn’t get burnt despite all the explosives he prepared.
He was right. There’s really a unknown power behind them.
And if the power is this strong, then that’s more reason to get El Crow married to Bellatrix very soon.
Bellatrix had to carry his baby so his powers can stay in this family.
And Skylar…
Skylar had to be in this household too so her powers could also stay here.
She had to bend to his desires and become his woman.
He took a sip from his wine.
Of course Eden would be taken back from them, but that’ll be later.
For now, making those two a part of this family was the priority.
“Boss!” A staff rushed in. “Satan is here to talk to…”
“Let her in.” Jethro dropped his glass and left the study.
By the time he got to the living room below the stairs, Satan was already waiting, looking impatient.
“I’m the only one allowed to be impatient in this house, Satan. You don’t come to my house looking like you have the right to snap fingers.”
Satan turned quickly.
“You started it by announcing your daughter’s relationship with that lunatic son of Arturo!”
“What’s your problem with that?” Jethro’s brows creased.
“Doesn’t it mean that your support will go to their Team Enigma now?” Satan panted obviously.
“Of course.” Jethro scoffed. “It’s normal to support my son-in-laws team.” He shrugged.
“Jethro!” Satan spat, pointing. “I’ve respected you all my life, and I’ll continue to do that cos without you, my twin daughters would be dead now, but you can’t do this. Supporting Team Enigma is like playing in my face! We’ve grown too close for you to do this to my team!”
Jethro’s seriousness faded, replaced by a sudden grin as he took his seat.
“You panic too fast, Satan.” He looked up. “Yes, I want El Crow for my daughter, but I also want Skylar for myself. Naturally support is for the two teams, but of course your team gets my biggest support.”
Satan’s frown disappeared.
“That’s new. You want Skylar?”
“When I remember the fact that I gave her that name, it gladdens my heart.” Jethro laughed. “And yes, I want her as a wife. I sold her to you in the first place.”
“If you take her as a wife, doesn’t that mean I don’t get to use her blood for my daughters?” Satan frowned.
“A replacement is available.” Jethro sighed. “Though, her location is unknown now, but she’ll soon be found. That little wench Eden.”
Satan took a deep breath, relaxing as her fingers interlocked.
“Then I guess I’ll just sit back and watch things unfold.”
“Listen,” Jethro leaned forward. “At the upcoming first tournament, if your team kills their opponent from Team Enigma, and they get the champion belt, you won’t only get a replacement for Skylar, but your team would also get to go compete at the world championship league.”
“I’ll shock you.” Satan stood.
She didn’t say more than that before she left the house.
Jethro sat back, grinning loudly and throwing his head back.
“I feel like this year would be my best year.” He threw his head back, laughter rising again.
“Boss!” Another staff entered.
Jethro’s laughter stopped.
“Marisa is here, isn’t it?”
“Yes sir.” The staff nodded.
He didn’t wait for Jethro to tell him to let her in. Jethro’s body language was enough to tell him that.
He left the room, and a minute later, Marisa stepped inside, heels clicking the floor gently at each step.
Her white dress dragged the floor slightly, and her arms were folded behind herself like a taoist’s.
“I can count how many things you’re obsessed with in this city, Marisa,” Jethro muttered. “Your fighting career, your piano, your arrow and bow, your son’s death, your heels, your plain dresses. Now, you’ve added another obsession—Skylar”
“And that’s why you have to take your eyes off her cos I saw the way you were staring at her in the hall,” Marisa shot immediately.
Jethro laughed.
“You know if it was back then when I was still one of the men who chased after you, I’d have agreed to take my eyes off her cos I’d do anything for you, but things are different now, Marisa. I want Skylar, I own her in the first place, she just doesn’t know.”
“If she defeats El Crow at the first tournament, I’ve promised to tell her you sold her to Satan.” Marisa sighed.
“And you think she’d defeat him?” Jethro stood with another laughter. “They both have a unknown power behind them, and I don’t think the tournament is something you wanna predict. She’s going against your lunatic son, Marisa.”
“And you think my Tall Doll isn’t a lunatic too?” Marisa’s eyes hollowed.
“Your Tall….what?” Jethro blinked, then laughed heavily. “Doll?”
“I know what you’re trying to do by getting your daughter entangled with El Crow, and I won’t interfere, but you have to stay as far away from Skylar as ever,” She warned.
“Don’t talk to me like that, Marisa.” Jethro took a breath. “You know threats only empower me more. Now I want to really marry her and kill her fighting career. I’ll humble her by impregnating her with triplets.”
Marisa was with Jethro in another fleeting breath. She held the edge of the backrest and threw herself over it, and at the same time, she shifted the couch, lifting it to stand on one side before pushing it towards Jethro.
But Jethro’s staffs moved fast.
They covered him, and everyone of them used their knees to kick the couch back to the floor.
It landed violently, and a few marbles broke with bent cracks.
“Crazy whore,” Jethro muttered. “You’re really El Crow’s mother. The lunatic gene runs deep.”
“If you even breathe near Skylar, forget about everything else, I’ll show you why I’m still the most popular female fighter in the world right now despite having retired for years,” She muttered dementedly.
“I’ll show you why I’m Ma,” she added and left as strangely as she came.
Jethro laughed slowly, sounding spooky like poison leaking out of a jar. “Marisa came to my house to threaten me?” He sucked his teeth. “She broke my floor marbles too.”
“I hate being triggered, but she did. She triggered me. Don’t complain when I start torturing you, Marisa. Just keep quiet and take it!”
His staffs made way for him as he stormed out of the living room.
