Aubrey’s POV

I woke up on Saturday morning with a huge smile on my face. Firstly, I have a boyfriend for the first time in my life.

Secondly, I will be going on a date today. I feel so happy thinking about these things and I’ll be happier if I get to spend the rest of my life with Liam.

I’ve always wanted my first boyfriend to be the guy I will get married to. I just hope my wish comes to pa-ss.

I took my bath and wore a simple gown with flat shoes. I have to wear cheap dresses so Liam won’t start suspecting me.

I picked my small handbag with one of my small phones and was about leaving my room when a call came into my phone. I checked the name and found out it was Liam.

“Good morning baby” he greeted making me blus-h and nervous at the same time. What am I supposed to say now?

“Morning sweetheart” I managed to say ba-rely audibly

“How was your night?”

“It was fine”

“Okay. Hope you’re getting ready for our first date” he asked emphasizing on “first ”

“Yeah, I’m done. I was just about calling to inform you”

“Wow! So soon?” he exclaimed “let me quickly freshen up and wear my clothes, I will call you when I’m done”

“Alright” I said and ended the call before dialing Samantha’s number

I’m supposed to have called her since because I know she would like to come here this morning. She wasn’t able to come yesterday due to how busy she was.

“Hey girlfriend” I said into the phone when she picked the call

“Sweetheart, how was your night?”

“It was fine. Yours?”

“Fine too. So…. The Aubrey I know doesn’t call me, why did you call today?”

“Errm…. I just wanted to inform you that I won’t be home this morning until evening”

“Why? You don’t usually go out except if you have a concert and I don’t think you have one today or do you?” she asked surprised

“I don’t have a concert. I’m actually going out with someone but I’ll be back before you know it”

“Alright then. All I will say is you should be careful and don’t trust anyone no matter who it is.”

“Thanks Sam. I guess we’ll see when I get back”

“Yeah, I’m also kind of busy. Take care of yourself, bye” she said and ended the call

I breathed out in relieve. I sat on one of the couches patiently waiting for Liam’s call and I didn’t know when I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up due to the sound of my phone and when I checked who called, it was Liam.

“I’m sorry it took me this long before I called, I had to quickly do some things. How are you doing?” he asked

“I’m fine. I even slept off already, your call woke me up”

“I’m really sorry. Can we still go on the date?”

“Yes. I will just come to the restaurant”

“Alright, I’ll be expecting you”

I adjusted my mask properly and picked my small purse and phone before going to take a cab to the restaurant.

“Welcome baby” Liam said pulling out a chair for me immediately I got to where he was seated.

“Thank you” I muttered shyly

“What would you like to eat?” he asked staring at my face while I looked down trying as much as possible to avoid eye contact with him

“I actually ate before leaving home so I’m not really hungry but I can take juice”

“Okay then”

He ordered for two juice and we started discussing randomly.

“Where will you like us to go once we leave this place?”

“Uhhm…… I think the park will be okay”

“Alright, let’s go”

He paid for the drinks and off we left for the park.

“Since when did you fall in love with me?” he questioned staring keenly at me

We we’re currently seated in a quiet place taking ice cream. We agreed to head back home once we’re done with it.

“Well, I don’t really know. Maybe it was a love at first sight” I said truthfully

“Wow! That means you’ve been in love with me since the first time we met”

“Yeah. What about you?”

“I can’t really say for sure but I know I love you”

“Okay. Let’s go home now since we’re done”

“Sure. Let me drop you off”

“No, I will take a cab”

“I won’t let you take a cab. You’re my girlfriend now and I don’t want you stressing yourself. Just get into the car please”

“No Liam, not today. Maybe some other time, please…..”

“Okay…….since that’s what you want” he said giving up

“Thanks. Bye” I waved at him and headed home

I got home and met Samantha in my room as expected. I have some really long explanation to give.

“Welcome” she said simply

This is weird! Why would she just simply say welcome?

“Thanks. Is everything okay?” I asked her

She raised her head to stare at me for a while before taking her eyes back to her phone

“Everything is fine. Where are you coming from?” she asked making me roll my eyes

“Is that why you are like this?”

“Just answer me”

“Stop sounding like my mom. Well, I went on a date with Liam” I said like it meant nothing

“A….date?” she asked surprised

“Yeah, a date. I told you he asked me out and you told me to say yes” I reminded her

“That’s true but I never expected it to be so soon. How was the date? Have you had your first kis-s? Where did you guys go to?” she rushed without stopping

“Sa….m, I don’t even remember the questions you asked so how am I supposed to answer them?”

“Okay. Have you had your first kis-s?”

“No”

“No? Why? I mean, didn’t Liam ask for it?”

“He asked for it yesterday but I said no”

“Ohh…. What about today?”

“He didn’t ask. I guess he wants to take things slow” I shrugged

“Alright, just be careful. And remember, no se-x”

“Yes Mom” I teased

“Whatever. You know you have a concert coming up in two weeks. Make sure you practice and don’t just focus on Liam alone”

“I’ve heard you. Thanks”

“You’re welcome. I will be leaving now, just came to check up on you. When will mom and dad be arriving?”

“Next week”

“That’s great. Alright then, bye”
