And with a reluctant smile, Nathan pulled her into an embrace.

And while they were both locked in each other’s arms, the door swung open and Caleb walked in carrying some documents in his hand.

On seeing them, he awkwardly said,

“Oh, I’m sorry. I think I came in at the wrong time. I guess I will just leave and return when you are less busy” Caleb said.

Then turning to go, Nathan freed himself from Daniella’s embrace and called out to him.

“Caleb!” He called.

Then turning back to him, Caleb responded,

“Yes?”

“Thank you so much,” Nathan said.

“What for?” Caleb asked.

“For your help Caleb” Nathan responded. Then rubbing his wife’s stomach, he said,

“Thanks to you, my wife and I are finally going to have a child of our own”

Hearing this, Caleb fixed his gaze on Daniella who has been uncomfortably trying to avoid his eyes.

“Oh…, wow…, congrats. I’m so happy for the both of you” Caleb awkwardly said still staring at Daniella who finally lifted her eyes to meet his gaze. Then for a while, they both kept staring at each other without words.

Then snapping back to his senses, Caleb slightly raised the documents in his hand and said,

“I guess, I will have to drop this here” Caleb awkwardly said.

Then he walked to Nathan’s office desk and placed the documents on it. Then turning to leave, he smiled at Daniella and walked away.

That same night, while Nathan was fast asleep, Daniella sat upright reminiscing about the look Caleb gave her and the way he smiled at her.

“Why was he staring and smiling at me like that?” She wondered folding her arms.

When Daniella’s pregnancy became a month old, Nathan finally informed his mother and his mother-in-law about the good news.

And from then on, they both took turns in pampering Daniella whose joy knew no bounds.

But unfortunately, her joy was cut short. As she suddenly began to experience severe pains in her stomach one Monday afternoon.

As the pain became much more severe and unbearable, she quickly put a call through to Nathan.
