From Daniella’s point of view.

The ways of God are not the ways of man. Therefore, it takes only a man that knows God and understands his ways and teachings, to know how my pregnancy came about.

No wonder the Bible says,

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” Isaiah 55:8-9.

So if one is as canal-minded as my husband Nathan, then they might forever be lost and confused trying to understand and figure out how I was able to take in despite my husband’s inability to father a child.

If God could make Sarah a woman who was well stricken in age to bear a son in her old age, then what makes you think he can’t do the same for a young woman whose husband is infertile?

If God could remember Hannah and bless her with a son after she prayed fervently to him, then what makes my case different?

There are lots of miracle cases in the Bible and in the world where we live in. And yet, there are still people who doubt my story whenever I tell them how my pregnancy came to be.

And since Nathan was one of those Christians with little or no faith in christ, he concluded that I cheated with Caleb. And in the end, he decided to take me back to my parents when my pregnancy was just four weeks old.

Two days before we travelled to my parent’s house, I remember the priest who officiated our wedding visited to tell Nathan what God told him concerning my pregnancy.

According to the priest, God instructed him to tell my husband to desist from doubting and questioning the works of His hands in our home. for He God, is not an author of confusion.

He further went ahead to tell Nathan that if he wants proof that my pregnancy was a gift of consolation to us from God, then he should sincerely seek the face of God through prayers. Only then will God reveal the truth to him.

He also said that my pregnancy was God’s way of fulfilling his words in my life. Just as it is written in the book of, Romans 10:11 which says,

“Whosoever believeth in him shall not be ashamed”

Also, Isaiah 49:23 which says,

“And you shall know that I am the LORD:

For they that wait for me shall not be put to shame”

Also, Exodus 3:7;

“I have surely seen the affliction of my people and have heard their cry… I know their sufferings….and I have come down to deliver them…..”

And lastly, Jeremiah 17:7, 8 which says,

“Blessed is the man that trust in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit”

Even at that, when the priest left, Nathan insisted that he was not a fool to fall for our cheap tricks. That he was certain that everything the priest said was preplanned by me.

Two days after, he took me back to my parent’s house and told my parents that he wasn’t responsible for the child in my womb. But when I kept on insisting that he was responsible for the pregnancy, Nathan then insisted that I prove my innocence by swearing before his people and mine. That only then, will he be able to believe that the pregnancy was really his.

At first, I wanted to give in to his demands but since I was already fed up with everything, I then refused to swear on the ground that swearing before anything was against my belief as a Christian.

But my decision ended up giving most people the conviction that Nathan was telling the truth. And In the end, he took back the bride price he paid to my parents. And abandoned me and our baby in the village.

Before I knew it, the news of my false infidelity was everywhere like the wind. And I quickly became a topic of discussion amongst different women, men, children and households in my hometown. Back then, I was popularly known as the woman who got pregnant after sleeping with her husband’s best friend. The news was everywhere. Both in churches and at home.

I went through lots of criticism, condemnation, rejection and stigmatization throughout my nine months journey.

But Caleb who felt pity for me, was there with me every step of the way. He was supportive and always made sure to check up on me and the baby through calls.

And at a point, he wished the child was truly his as Nathan had alleged. That way, he wouldn’t have hesitated to make me his.

But even though it wasn’t his, he was still willing to take up the responsibility by making me his wife. I know being with him wasn’t forbidden anymore. But I had to turn him down because accepting to be with him, will only prove that Nathan was right all along.

With God being so kind and merciful, my nine months journey ended in praise as I successfully delivered a baby boy whom I named Miracle Kamsiyochukwu.

And to the shock of everyone, my son Miracle came out as the replica of his father Nathan.

They both shared a striking and undeniable resemblance. And that alone, made half of those who criticised me, believe that I was telling the truth.

The news got to Nathan’s family and they began pressuring Nathan to rethink. But unfortunately, he despised me a lot that he didn’t want to ever set his eyes on me ever again.

How fast the night changes. One minute you are loved by this person and one minute you are back to being irreconcilable strangers.
