The Chauffeur Job - S01 E09

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 9

I crept out the car few seconds after they had left to check on my dog. I opened the trunk quietly and to my surprise, he was up and healthy,infact he barked happily.

I drew him into my hands to hug him and mehn,it felt like i havent even seen him in a year- i missed his scent, his tongue over my face and his claws on My cloth and the more i did, the more i felt guilty.

I and my dog were still crying in eachother’s arm when i heard a very loud, sharp scream coming from inside the house, quickly, i tucked sparrow back intO the trunk.

I moved stEalthly into the house, i took the first corner into the kitchen where a struggling sound was coming from and as i approached the kitchen, i recieved a shocker – the minister and his wife were lying down in their own pool of blood ,they each had knives stabbed into their back, in another corner is eva being pinned down by her bodygaurds to stop her from crying and hurting herself.

Things started to fade away as i tried to recall the conservation i had with the minister earlier in the day but shit! Why didnt he give me details, why didnt he tell me something big was coming down,

F--k!

I balanced my shaking legs against a wall as i stared at the two corpse lying stiff already.

Why did i have to work in this family uhn? Im not even off the hook, i’m his driver for gods sake!.

Eva struggled hard to touch her parents but she was pinned down and when she wouldnt settle down, her bodygaurds decided to get her out of the house. I moved to the side to give room for them to pass as they escorted her out.

Outside, quickly,i ran ahead to open the door but i was stopped.

“you can just leave okay, we’ll take it from here” one of the bodygaurds that held eva by the waist said as they moved to another car. I didnt say anything, i couldnt say anything infact i didnt know what to say, truly, my boss is dead, the whole house is in a mess, what the heck am i waiting for? One part of me wanted me to leave, but another part of me is just not buying it, i mean something wanna make me stay!.

I watched on as she wouldnt let herself get in the car, she hooked her legs to the doors so she wouldnt enter as she screamed crazily. She would wriggle her body free if her bodygaurds tried to carry her and it was when she faced my direction that my eyes caught something, the chain on her neck dangled dangerously around and it caught my attention and then i noticed that there was no longer any pendant attached to it. I looked again to be sure and it wasnt there right. It was there when we arrived few minutes ago, i was the last time to leave the room and there was nothing, i glanced through the passage and there was nothing too.

Okay this is it, its normal for pendants to fall off especially in a struggle but in the morning when i came to pick her up, that was when i first noticed it and mehn,it looked unusual that if not that i feared slaps, i might have asked her where she got it.

By now, they had managed to stuff her in and they’ve started the car already.

“get out of here man! ” one called after as they drove past me towards the gate with eva kicking and screaming her parents name like a mad woman.

I know its crazy but i just dont feel right about it all and because i dont, i entered my car and went after them….
