PRIVIOUSLY ON REINCARNATION

“I have warned you Oshimiri, any further step forward, your cobra’s head would be in my hands. Dike was my friend, not anymore”. Dinta answered him.

Oshimiri was only delaying and buying more time for the cobra to regain it’s stength, he knew the cobra would come alive again if allowed much time to rest. Oshimiri engaged Dinta in more arguments.

“Please Dinta, if you spare my cobra and I, if allow us to live. I would turn a new leaf, i promise you”. He pleaded trying to buy more time.

CONTINUATION

“Oshimiri, you have caused more good than harm in this kingdom. You and Dike do not deserve to live, you deserve painful deaths and that is what you both will get”. Dinta said out of anger as he tried to chop off the head of the cobra.

“Wait, wait, wait Dinta. Please do not do this I beg you”. He said and dipped his left hand in his bag and then brought out a whitish powdered substance and poured it in the air facing Dinta’s direction. It was a powerful substance filled with powerful charms and it weakened Dinta that he fell to the ground and fainted.

“Stupid fellow, I warned you not to go into what is bigger than you, but you wouldn’t listen. This is your end and I must make sure you do not return to this life again”. Oshimiri boasted smiling.

DIKE'S HUT

Olamma had taken charge of Dike and had within her powers to end his life. He was held captive by Olamma still on hid knees pleading with her to allow him gain access into his hut.

“I know you will not spare me this time Ola, but please can you allow me sometime to see Oshimiri and speak with him for the last time? If you spare my life, I would love and cherish you for as long as I live and Dinta and I will remain best of friends. He pleaded.

“I shall not allow you do any such thing, your end is here and now and I must make sure you die a slow and painful death Dike, you and Oshimiri has done so much evil in the land”. Ola said, but had the strong feelings all was not well with Dinta at Oshimiri’s shrine, she felt it so strong and was convinced all was not well with Dinta. She then brought out a thick rope and used it to bind Dike on his both hands and legs that he could not move. She made sure no one would be able to unbind him.

“I shall return for you, I know all is not well with Dinta”. She said and vanished into the air.

OSHIMIRI'S SHRINE

Oshimiri had the upper hand on Dinta, he had lost consciousness and was lying half dead on the ground while Oshimiri bragged. But his cobra was still weak and was also unconscious, the injury it sustained from Dinta were much. Oshimiri went for his cobra first to give it first aid so it could regain it’s strength before taking on Dinta.

“I will let you remain here until I am done with my cobra, the brain behind my powers. She will feed on you and you will know that no one dares Oshimiri and get away with it”.

He (Oshimiri) while about taking the first step to his cobra heard a voice behind him, Olamma had appeared.

“Your end is here Oshimiri, all that works for you and all that hinders me from getting closer to your shrine had been destroyed; safe for the head of the cobra. It lies unconscious, as good as a dead lion. Any further step you take Oshimiri, you shall be a dead man”. Olamma said and brought out a white clay from a small calabash pot she was holding. Oshimiri, knowing his end had truly come stood still and pleaded with Olamma.

“I know my life now is in your hands Olamma the most beautiful, please what can I do to appease your spirit?”. He asked pleading.

“You are cunning and wicked Oshimiri, you and your likes over the years have refused my spirit to find rest. You planted hatred in each generation of my children that has reincarnated against me, you made them see me as evil and I needed love from them so my spirit can find rest. If you and Dike are spared, this battle will go on for many more years. I shall end this here and now so I can rest with my ancestors in peace”. She said crying.

“Before you kill me, where is Dike; have you killed him?”. He asked.

“The life of Dike is in my palm, he is as good as dead. By the time I am done with you, everything about you and Dike will be written in the sand of history”. She said.

While she was speaking, Oshimiri had dipped his left hand in his bag and took the powdered substance he used in weakening Dinta. While he blew it in the air to weaken Olamma as well, she blew her white clay directing it at Dinta to regain his consciousness. While Dinta got back to his senses, Olamma fell to the ground and became weak. Same time Dinta got back to himself, was the same time the cobra regained it’s strength.

DIKE'S HUT

Dike’s wife was returning from the stream when she saw her husband on the floor binded hands and legs.

“What happened nna anyi; who did this to you?”. She asked bringing down her pot of water.

“Come and unbind me and stop asking stupid questions”. He responded, the wife walked towards him and tried to unbind him but found it difficult. Olamma tied it so tight that no hands can loosen them.

“You are wasting my time woman, untie this thing. I have a great battle waiting for me at Oshimiri’s shrine”. He said to her aggressively.

“Nna anyi, this is tied so strong, I can’t untie them”. She answered.

“Do you not know you are to use a knife if you are finding it difficult to untie? Please, go get a knife woman and untie me, if Oshimiri is killed before I get to the shrine; I shall use you as sacrifice for the gods”. He shouted at her and made for the kitchen to get a knife, so she was back with a sharp kitchen knife. It wasn’t easy to cut the ropes with the knife, the ropes were so strong.

“Nna anyi, even with the knife, the ropes are so strong. This knife is so sharp, yet it is not cutting the rope”. She complained, then Dike knew the ropes were not ordinary.

“Go get me an alligator pepper”. He instructed in a calm voice and his wife hurried to her hut and was out moments later with an alligator pepper.

“Put some portion in my mouth”. He told her and she obliged. “Cut the ropes”. He instructed.

This time, it was easy to cut the ropes with the knife, after she was done cutting the ropes, he hurried into his hut and took his charms, then made his way to Oshimiri’s shrine.
