PRIVIOUSLY ON REINCARNATION

This time, more scorpions gathered him, not allowing him any space to use his matchette and get any closer to the leaves. He was stung on every part of his body, again, he fell to the ground so weak. Unable to raise his hands or get hold of his matchette. After a long period of struggle between life and death, he was able to get another leaf and ate, he was strengthened and was able to get hold of his matchette. He killed the last of the seven scorpions and all others in their numbers died. He rested a while before cutting the scent leaves round. It took him about an hour to cut down all the leaves, alas! He was done with cutting down the leaves, then he made for the cobra.

Oshimiri, sensing danger from where he was decided to hurry down to his shrine.

CONTINUATION

Dinta, after he had killed all the scorpions made for the back of the shrine where the cobra was. It was a big and fearful snake, has a mixed colours of black and green. The cobra, sighting Dinta from afar spat on him, but he was quick enough to hide himself from the poisonous spit of the cobra. The snake was so quick and swift in it’s movement and it will take Dinta to be extra fast and quick in defending himself from the cobra.

Dinta, an experienced hunter that has killed so many wild animals in the past, including cobras deployed his experience. Even though this cobra is not an ordinary one, but Dinta was able to fight on.

Oshimiri ran as fast as his legs were able to carry him haven sensed all was not well in his shrine.

Killing the scorpions and cutting down the scent leaves were enough to alert him of the danger back in his shrine and killing the scorpions and cutting the leaves makes him vulnerable to his enemies, those were his back bone. If the head of the cobra is cut off, then Oshimiri would seize to exist.

DIKE'S HUT

Dike was in his obi (resting hut) pondering on how to get at Dinta and Olamma, he was seated there without his charms that weakens the ogbanje(s). He was lost in thought, the issue of Olamma especially gave him so much worry.

“Olamma has been a thorn on my flesh since her return this time, despite all I’ve done to make sure that witch doesn’t return again has proved abortive. My worst fears are beginning to manifest, Dinta joining forces with Olamma will be a bad one. He possesses some powers that he himself does not know. And with the look of things, killing Dinta would be an easy way to get at Ola the witch. I think I should do away with that ingrate of a friend”.

“But I don’t know why I am having this feelings all is not well with Oshimiri, since I woke up this morning, I have been having some flashes of some negative attacks on him. I think I should go see him in his shrine, before going to end it with Dinta; that good for nothing ingrate. Let me go get my charms”. He and stood up to make for his hut, then the old woman (Olamma) appeared. Without his charms, he has no powers.

“This is the end of the road for you and Oshimiri, your end is here and you must pay with your lives all the pains you’ve caused Dinta and I now and in the past”.

Dike, knowing that he was in grave danger without his charms tried to run into his hut, but Olamma, haven the upper hand vanished and appeared behind him; blocking his entrance into his hut.

“I know you want to go get your charms, but that won’t be possible. You shall be destroyed, but I will make sure it is slowly and painful. Dinta as I speak with you is at Oshimiri’s shrine wrecking havoc there. Oshimiri had gone to fortify himself, getting ready to battle Dinta and I. But as we speak, all the scorpions and scent leaves are no more. They have been destroyed by Dinta, all that is left is the head of the cobra.

Dike, seeing he had been overpowered by Olamma and Dinta went down on his knees.

“Please Ola, have mercy on me”. He pleaded kneeling down.

OSHIMIRI'S SHRINE

Dinta fought the cobra gallantly, inflicting some injuries on it. The cobra was weak at this point and had fallen on the ground, Dinta, also tired fell on the ground very close to the powerless cobra. He rested a little to regain some strength, then Oshimiri arrived.

Oshimiri knew he was in a big trouble, tried to make a move but was warned by Dinta.

“Any step further, I shall cut off the head of the cobra”. Warned Dinta

“What have you done Dinta? I had no evil plans against you”. Oshimiri said.

“You were working with Dike to destroy Olamma and destroying Olamma is destroying me, your end with that of Dike is here. I will not spare you”. Dinta replied him.

“Dike is your friend and he meant well for you”. Oshimiri said cunningly while trying to take another step forward.

“I have warned you Oshimiri, any further step forward, your cobra’s head would be in my hands. Dike was my friend, not anymore”. Dinta answered him.

Oshimiri was only delaying and buying more time for the cobra to regain it’s stength, he knew the cobra would come alive again if allowed much time to rest. Oshimiri engaged Dinta in more arguments.

“Please Dinta, if you spare my cobra and I, if allow us to live. I would turn a new leaf, i promise you”. He pleaded trying to buy more time.
