PRIVIOUSLY ON REINCARNATION

“Why are you here Ola?”. Oshimiri asked as he expressed shock seeing Ola.

“Stay away from this battle, it is bigger than you; I shall not be kind with you if you insist”. Ola warned.

“I am not scared of you Ola, I am prepared for you and there is nothing you can do”. Oshimiri bragged.

“We shall see Oshimiri, I know the source of your power and that makes it easy to deal with you”. Ola said and vanished.

It was now a battle between Ola, Dinta, Dike and Oshimiri.

CONTINUATION

The shouts of Joy from Dinta’s hut heralded the cork crow of the morning, it had rained all night and everyone slept peacefully and happily. It has been hot all the while, everyone had longed for the rains which had taken so much time to come.

“I can see, I can see, I can see”. Shouted Dinta from his hut, the shouts woke Adanna from sleep as she hurried to Dinta’s hut, whom she met at his door step also coming to her hut.

“Did you say you can see?”. She asked astonished.

“Yes my wife, I can see you clearly”. He responded with joy.

“Oh! The gods be praised”. She said with tears in her eyes.

Ola was still asleep and didn’t wake up, despite the shouts coming from close to the hut she was sleeping.

“Now I can go my normal activities, farming, hunting and fishing”. Dinta said excitedly.

“Nna anyi, you should hold on first. You just regained your sight and should give yourself sometime”. His wife told him.

“I am just excited, where is Ola my daughter?”. He asked.

“Still asleep”. She answered.

Dinta went into the hut where Olamma was sleeping and met her peacefully asleep, but smiling.

“She’s beautiful, see how beautifully she smiles while sleeping. Now I can see my child again, gods of our ancestors, may you be praised”. He said and turned to his wife. “Come to my hut”. He told her and left for his hut and she followed him almost immediately after checking on Ola and made sure she was asleep. Dinta had just gotten to his hut and was joined soon after by his wife.

“I want to tell you this and I want you to be careful and watchful henceforth”.

“Okay nna anyi, what could that be?”.

“It is about my friend Dike, he almost led me astray and has been the one behind my hatred for Ola my daughter. He took me to Oshimiri’s shrine to get a charm that could help do away with Ola, it was on the process of all these that I got blind. He is bent in destroying Ola and I don’t know why, but now that I understand him as an enemy instead of a friend that he claimed to be, it would be easy for me to handle him”.

“I am surprised nna anyi, mazi Dike has been your good friend even before I got married to you. He has been more like a brother to you and not even a friend, but I have heard you my husband; I shall henceforth be careful with him”. She responded.

“He has been an enemy under the guise of a friend, now that I understand his mission; I shall trade with caution. Keep Ola away from him whenever he visits. There many other things you will understand when the battle is over”. He added.

“Okay nna anyi, you too have to be careful, mazi Dike is more dangerous than you think”. She pleaded.

“I know him and will be careful with him. He is the devil and I must dine with him with a long spoon. Please go and make breakfast”. He concluded and she left for the kitchen.

DIKE'S HUT

An angry Dike was in his shrine calling on the spirits that works for him.

“I call on you spirits of the seven oceans, spirits of the seven mountains, spirits of the forests. It is time for battle, Dinta my friend and his evil daughter Olamma have declared themselves my enemy and I want to come out victorious in this battle. You have never disappointed me, I have always had victories in time past and I know at this time, you will not forsake me. Come and fight along with me and for my victory”. He said and performed some rituals by killing a white c--k and pulling off its head with his bare hands, then dropped the blood on images in his shrine and also washed his face with the blood.

OSHIIMIRI'S SHRINE

Oshimiri also in his shrine consulted the gods that works for him and performed some rituals as well.

“Eke, Orie, Afor, Nkwo. I call on you four markets of the spirits, I have been challenged by a small child and challenging me is challenging you. She has agreed a contest with me and whoever contests with me, contests with you. You have never disappointed me, you will not disappoint me now. Olamma is but a child, grant me victory over her and the evil powers she possess. I know Dinta is not the issue, but Olamma. Dinta can be handled, he has got no powers, do not forsake me oh! great mother earth”. He said and also performed some rituals by killing a python.

DINTA'S HUT

Olamma was awake and was aware of the rituals performed by Dike and Oshimiri. At night, when Dinta was alseep, she appeared to him again in form of the old woman to tell him what to do.

“They are both prepared for you, both Dike and Oshimiri, I shall tell you what to do”. She said as Dinta paid attention.
