PRIVIOUSLY ON REINCARNATION

Dike left in anger and Adanna went in to the hut to see her husband who overheard all their discussion.

“Has he gone?”. He asked.

“Yes he’s gone”. She answered. “He said you have the solution to regaining back your sight”. She said.

“Yes I do, and I shall find the solution soon. Just be calm, you will understand with time”. He told her and she left for the kitchen to make dinner, she left Olamma with Dinta as he requested.

CONTINUATION

Early the next morning, Dike visited Dinta. He was in his obi (resting hut) when Dike walked into the compound.

“Dinta my brother, ututu oma (good morning) I greet you my good friend”. He shouted from afar as he approached the obi.

“I greet you too my friend”. Dinta responded.

“I was told you went to Amaeke yesterday with your sister, you should have informed me. The solution to regaining your sight is in your hands and not in Amaeke, you and I knows this”.

“You know my elders sister Adanne is a powerful woman, she was here soon after you left yesterday and saw my condition; hence she suggested we went to Amaeke”.

“I know your sister well, she is powerful I know. Were you able to find a cure? Becase I can see you are still blind”. Dike told him.

“At the appropriate time, the solution will come. The medicine man at Amaeke told me same thing Ijele said. “Do away with someone close to you and you shall regain your sight”. Dinta said lowering his voice.

“You see it?”. Said Dike also in a low voice. “You have to do the needful, the girl Ola has to be taken off the way. She is that person all fingers are pointing at, she is responsible for your blindness; the earlier you do away with her, the better for you”. Added Dike.

“I know the person to do away with”. Dinta said.

“Good, I know it is Ola. Please, do it very fast”.

“It’s okay my brother, I have my plans”.

“Good, if there is anywhere you would need my help, do not hesitate to let me know. I will be willing to render my assistance anytime”.

“I will do so my brother”. Responded Dike

“Where is your wife and that evil child Olamma?”. Dike asked.

“Adanna my wife should be in her hut or must have gone to the stream and you know it must be with Ola”. He replied.

“Okay, please my greetings to your wife when she returns. I shall be back at sunset”. He said and left.

Adanna came out from her hut immediately Dike left, she had Olamma on her back.

“I overheard your discussion with mazi Dike, there is something you’re not telling me. Who is to be done away with?”. She asked.

“Don’t worry nwunyem (my wife), I told you yesterday, when the time is right; I’ll let you know. There is nothing to worry about, absolutely nothing”. He answered.

“I am your wife, you have never been secretive to me. Don’t you think together we can find solution to whatever it is?”. She asked again.

“Yes, I know. I have my reason for trying to keep this to myself, it won’t take long and you will understand”. He assured.

“Okay nna anyi, if you say so”. She agreed. “Breakfast is ready, should I serve yours?”. She asked.

“Where is my daughter Olamma?”. He asked as Olamma chuckled at the back of Adanna.

“You can hear her, she just answered you”. She said.

“Bring her to me”. He requested as Adanna handed Ola to him and left to get his breakfast. Soon, she was back with a plate of fufu (cassava food) and vegetable soup. Adanna sat next to him and watched him while he ate.

“Your attitude towards your daughter has greatly changed, you now show so much love; I hope this lasts”. Adanna said.

“Olamma is my child and deserves to be shown love, I may have been hard on her in the past, but I am now ready to show her that fatherly love. Olamma is my daughter. Dinta said with a smile.

“I am happy nna anyi, you don’t know how you make me feel saying this. Maybe with this love shown to Ola, we can appease her to stay and never to go back again”. Adanna said with a smile as well as Dike ate every piece of fufu served him

DIKE'S HOT

“What is Dinta up to? He suddenly changed since we left Ijele’s shrine, he has been avoiding me and hardly relates to me the way he used to. But whatever game he is upto, I shall be ready. I am only trying to help him do away with that evil child Olamma, she is a threat to everyone including myself. I have to act fast before it is too late”. Dike said to himself and while he was trying to relax, Olamma appeared.

“Do not think you succeeded the last time, I only spared you because of my father Dinta. Now that you have declared yourself his enemy, it will be easy for me to fight you. He has been the one standing in my way to deal with you, I do not want to hurt him. But I will be ready for you now, he is back to himself and is loving me like he should. I made him blind, I shall restore his sight”. She concluded, before Dike could go in and get his charm prepared for ogbanje’s Olamma disappeared. Dike was left confused and plotted his next line of battle, it is now a battle between him, Olamma and Dinta.

NIGHT, DIKE'S COMPOUND

Dike was performing some rituals and invoking the spirits that’s been working with him.

“I call on you at this time, my battle has toughened. My friend Dinta is now against me, joining forces with his daughter Olamma. What shall I do?”. He asked as three evil creatures appeared to him.

DINTA’S HUT

Dinta was in his hut sleeping and had a dream. Same old woman who appeared to his wife Adanna with the resemblance of Olamma appeared to him also.

“I am now ready to tell you why I have been returning to your family in the last one hundred years, I am Olamma”. She said.

“I am listening Olamma”. He replied.
