Fire God Of The Fire Island - Season 1 - Episode 30

“She what?”

Laura nodded her head gravely, with a hint of disbelief shimmering in her eyes as well. “Yes, it seems that Lady Kira is trying to control what the people of this Island give in offerings to the Fire God.

Kate bit her lips together and drew in a deep breath through her nose. Of all the things her cousin could have chosen to do to the people of Fire Island, she wanted to control what they gave in offering to their Fire God. She was the Fire Princess not a follower of the temple to which was closet to the realm of their Fire God. She had no right whatsoever to even attempt something so…….controlling.

“That would explain why she was on the Fire Temple grounds. I knew she was up to something”,
Kate murmured as she did her best to push back the unsettling feeling of anger appearing in the pit of her stomach. She then shook her head as if to clear it. “But why would she do something like this?”

“It seems that she believes it’s in their best interests as she knows what offerings would appease our God”,

Laura expalined as she gave a slight wave of her hand to indicate that they were her actual words.

“Her best interests more like it is l’m sure she’d loved to get her hands otheir belongings for the heck of it”,
Kate muttered teresly with the concerstion. “Honestly, she is trying to anger the Fire God”.

Laura gave a light, one shoulder shrug before she folded her hands in front of herself. “What will you do?”

Kate was silent as she started to pace her room, running a hand through her hair in a sign of frustration. She had to do something, she couldn’t let the Princess get away with trying to be even more controlling. If she would do something like this, what else was she capable of?

“I’m going to have to talk with her”, Kate finally said.

But Laura made a sound of concern. “I’m not sure if that is wise, Lady Kate”, she said with an obvious frown on her lips. “She has been challenging anyone who defies her to a Fire Battle all morning”.

“That’s fine”,
Kate said. “If that’s the only way to help the people of this Island, then so be it”.

“L-lady Kate”,
Laura was clearly taken aback by her newfound assertiveness.

“Could you arrange a possble meeting for me?”
Kate asked as she turned to face her childhood friend. “I’m sorry for such short notice”.

“Of course”,
Laura said as she composed herself, bowing her head a little in a slow professionalism. “Would you like for me to do arrange it now?”

“Please”,
Kate said as she gave her a small smile of gratitude. “Thank you Laura”,.

Laura bowed again before she turned and left the room, shutting the door silently. Kate was alone in her room and she immediately marched over to her balcony and slammed her fist onto the sandstone railing, tightening her jaw in annoyance.

“Argh, this just burn me up”, she muttered under her breath, squeezing her eyes shut in frustration.

“Hey, that’s the spirit”.

Kate snapped open her eyes and suddenly found herself face to face with a mop of unruly blue hair and a playful blue eyes. She blinked once and then, twice, realising quickly that Loki had, once again climbed onto her balcony from the outside. “Loki” She murmured before she suddenly grabbed Loki by his collar of his clothes and pulled him from the balcony with her, looking around in case of any guards.

“Were you listening in?” Kate asked in a rather accusing tone.

“Yep!!” Loki replied without a care. “I just happened to be passing up, ya know, in the neigbourhood-”

“You were in the neighbourhood because Levi was helping you to escape”,
Kate interrupted, giving Loki a pointed look.

But Loki carried on headlessly. “And thought I’d drop by when I heard you talking. So anyway”, Loki said as he flapped his hand carelessly, looking somewhat serious well, as serious as a man with a carefree attitude could. “The Princess is causing trouble again?”

Kate sighed and ran a hand through her spiky black hair. “You already know the answer to that”.

Loki was uncharacteristically silent for a moment before he smiled brightly once again and slapped Kate playfully, yet encouragingly on the back. “Go kick her a-s”.

Kate blushed a deep crimsom. “L-loki!” sure, she had advanced quite a bit in her Fire abilities, but she wasn’t ready for a one-on-one battle with her cousin….was she?

“What? You’re sure to win”. Loki interjected before Kate’s thoughts could fell into their usual patterns of self-doubt, taking her by the shoulders to look directly into her eyes. “I know you will. You care too much for the people around you. Besides, who is she to say what the Fire God wants or doesn’t want? Maybe he’d be happy to recieve a small gift instead of something grand like gold and treasure”.

“You think so?”
Kate asked

“Yes, of course!”
Loki grinned widely.

Okay, if Kira wished to battle, then so be it. She would give it her best shot. For the sake of her people.

“I’ll do my best”,
Kate promised to Loki.

Loki nodded, clearly pleased by what she had said.
