Loki nodded, clearly pleased by what she had said. “And I’ll be cheering you on”.

That pleased Kate more than words could possibly describe and made her even more willing, and ready to face Kira in battle.

They stared at each other for a long, silent moment, neither of them saying or attempting to say anything. Kate found herself drawn deeply into Loki’s eyes; they were so blue. She had never seen such a clear blue before. And Loki was looking at her not with pity, but with something she couldn’t quite put her finger on. But….it was similar to the way Laura and Levi would look at each other.

Slowly, Kate found her eyes falling shut and felt the distinct feeling of moving forward. It felt surreal, like it wasn’t real but a dream. But she shivered lightly when she felt a warm breath dance across her lips, and…

A loud knock on the bedroom door jarred Kate back to reality and found herself jumping back in surprise. She spun around to face the door, feeling dizzy and somewhat in a daze, her heart thundering wildly
“Ah, yes?”

“It’s me Lady Kate”, That was Laura’s voice. “I have arranged a meeting for you”.

“Coming!” Kate called in reply. She then turned back to Loki, a sense of nervousness suddenly setting over her. What had just happend? What would have happened if Laura, didn’t knock on the door?
….What did she think she was doing? She was the Peace Keeper, she couldn’t-
But Loki merely winked at her. “Good luck, I’l catch ya after the battle”. He then grabbed onto the stone balcony and vauled himself over the side, landing effortlessly on the ground before jogging off.

Kate watched him as he left.

It was time for her to act as the Fire Priestess and Peace-Keeper she had been training as her whole life to be.

“Thank you so much for arranging this for me Laura”, Kate said as she stepped out of her room. Walking quickly in order to ge to the Coucil room before Kira decided on her own that the meeting was pointless and dismissed it with out her being there.

The journey to the Fire Palace was in silence, Kate thinking of what she should said exactly while Laura silently fretted about her safety.

Kate and Laura were the last two to arrive in the Council Chamber, the Fire Elders having already taking their seats and were murmuring amongst themselves. But all murmuring had ceased the moment Kate stepped into the room, Laura taking her place just off to the side of her, a few steps behind.

Sitting bored upon her throne was Kira, looking displeasing and annoyed. No doubt she was till syinging after her confrotation with Loki. “Let’s get this over with, Cousin”, she pratically snarled at her. “I have much better things to do with my time”.

Kate lifted her chin up a little in a sign of defiance. “As do I”.

Kira narrowed her eyes dangeroulsy. She was very clearly angry. There was no turning back now, even if she wanted to.

“Now, say what you have to say, I’ll ignore you and we can carry on”, she hissed, clearly impatient. “Well? Hurry up!”

Straightening her shoulders, Kate stepped into the middle of the room and stated in a clear and steady voice the matter of this impromptu meeting. “I request that you Reconsider your latest proposal, Princess. You cannot have any control over what the people of this Island give in offerings to our Fire God. And I think we should discuss this now”.
