Kate blushed darkly at the man’s proximity, from what he was insinuating and from what he had called her. “What?” she stuttered as she squirms her way out of the taller man’s grip.

“Yes I think so”, Laura said as she laughed warmly, seemingly becoming less guarded around Loki. She then turned to Kate, giving her a gentle smile, her head tilting ever so slightly to the side. “Have fun, Lady Kate”, she said gently, sincerely, before turning back to Loki “You too, Master Loki”.

“Master?” Loki said with his nose crinkling as he made a noise of disproval, even going as far as wagging his finger at Laura. “Now now, no need for that. Loki is fine”.

“If you insist”, Laura replied, bowing her head slightly in understanding. “You best hurry, though, or Levi may try to stop you”.

Loki looked insterested at hearing this new name “Levi?”

“He’s another friend of mine”, Kate explained “He’s also my Fire Guard”.

Loki crossed his arm over his chest and tapped his chin in thought. “He doesn’t happen to have red hair and purple eyes, does he?”

kate was slightly surprised by his description. “Do you know him?”
“Well…..” he drawled, a grin threatening to appear.

“YOU!!!”

Kate jumped as the familiar voice yelled with a quite a bit of venom and frustration. She along with Laura and Loki, spun around toward the source of the voice to see Levi standing in the middle of the lobby. His expression and posture was pure, unadulterated disgruntlement, his right eye twitching comically as he breathed heavily through his nose, hands balled into tight fists by his sides.

Then Loki laughed again, pointing in Levi’s direction. “Ha, it is Mr-Slow Poke!”

If it is all possible, Levi appeared more frustrated, even bristling wildly from Loki’s exclamation. “Don’t call me that, dumbass!” he yelled back looking ready to clobber something if necessary.

“So you’re the one Levi has been ranting about”, Laura said around a laugh, turning to give Kate and Loki small smile and a wink. “I’ll hold him off while you two make a run for it. Ok?

“Sure”, Loki grinned in return before grabbing Kate’s hand in his again to pull her outside. “Come on, kate!”

Looking over her shoulder, Kate just had to chuckle from the sight of Laura literally holding Levi back by placing her hands on his chest and pushing him, while the Fire Guard was hissing and bristling, no doubt saying some…….colourful things about Loki. Levi could easily brush Laura to the side, as a Fire Guard he held great physical strength, but he would never do anything to hurt her, so his struggles weren’t all that convincing.

Oh, he was still utterly seething, for certain, but he wasn’t overly destructive.

And besides, Luara had always had the ability to keep Levi under control with a few whispered of words. What they were, Kate didn’t know.

But perhaps, she’ll need some of her own to keep this Loki character in check. Things seemed to have gotten a bit more interesting with him around.
