She clutched her handbag tightly and walked fast. The lower part was more dangerous than she thought, the place was practically a ghetto. Everywhere was filled with trash and litters, stagnant water filled everywhere and the road had potholes. To worsen the situation, they had no light at all, every house was characterized with darkness. In some parts prostitutes lined up the streets, some of them wore tightly fitted dresses which barely moved below their asses, different sickening perfumes filled the air, and there were different noises from them as they chew gums loudly with worries.

Others clung shamelessly to men who had come to patronize them, some do not even bother to look for rooms, an old abandoned shed was used for their atrocities as house of delivery. They ran to any car that stopped and displayed their wares. Diline was so disgusted that she quickly ran from the place at that point she felt like turning back but she realized she had gone a long way already. After walking endlessly, she began to hear sounds of cars and motorcycles, she was very happy she was close to the main road. At the junction leading to the main road, she encountered thugs who were drunk, she tried to turn back but it was too late, she quickened her pace and began to run but they outran her. Two of them saluted her.

“Madam where to?”
Diline answered fearfully.

“I am going home, I was coming from Royal Estate please sir let me go.”

They all laughed at her. One of them who had not been talking spoke up.

“Are you one of the mistress of those rich men? Then you must have something to give to the boys. As you can see we are doing a good job of protecting this community especially the Royal Estate as good citizens isn’t that right?”
She nodded fearfully.

“But I don’t have any money with me, I only went to work there, I am not a mistress of anyone, I am just a chef sir please have mercy on me.”

Another thug slapped her angrily then snatched her bag, he slapped her again when he found nothing tangible in her bag.

“Bichaseo? (Are you mad?)”
She shook her head.

“I don’t understand, I am not a Skornian.”
“Well, you have to give us something for our troubles. You said you are a chef can you feed four men now?”
She answered naively.

“Yes sir if I get the ingredients.”

They all laughed at her expense again.

“He meant that can you feed us with your body.”
She swallowed in fear.

“Please don’t do this to me, I beg you.”

They pinned her down forcibly while she struggled. As a last resort she bit one of them and tried to run but she was hit with a log and she fell down writhing in pain. Her vision became blurry but she felt them holding her down again. The last thing she saw was a fifth man fighting with the thugs, she tried to see more clearly but everything was became fuzzy, she struggled with the darkness threatening to overwhelm her but when he carried her, she felt safe and allowed darkness to take over.
