The following weeks were busy for Diline, she began to make preparations started for the party at the Royal Estate. One thing Diline though was that she returned very late at night, Eve cautioned and pleaded with her to try coming early but Diline was blinded by her determination to do well.

“Diline please come back early today. I don’t feel comfortable with your late night work infact if the work is like this, it is too risky just forget it.”
Diline sighed.

“How many times do we have to discuss this? I am not the only one coming home besides the place is very secure so what else? You know we need this money and I want you to work less and study hard for your exams. Here….”
She gave some money to Eve.

“Pay for your school fees, I will settle the house bill tomorrow by God’s grace.”
Eve sighed.

“I am grateful but is this not too much? Let me pay the bills when I get my salary.”
Diline smiled.

“You can use that money for other things we need, moreover save too. I have the means now let me help. You have done more than enough for me and it is only God that can repay you.”
Eve nodded.

“But please try and come back early.”
Diline stood up to leave.

“Alright madam from now on, I will close 90 minutes early.”
Eve smiled.

“Thank you, have a nice day.”
Diline looked at their apartment and shook her head. If not for circumstances, she would never have dreamt of staying there. She promised to move herself and Eve to a better place then she left for work. As promised, Diline left the Royal Estate very early in order to get back soon but ill luck was on her side.

“Oga what is happening, why are you turning the cab around?”

The cab driver switched to English for Diline’s sake.

“It is said that the securities at the Estate are not allowing anybody to go out until everyone has been thoroughly searched because there has been a robbery.”

Diline waited in vain as people were being delayed.

“Please is there no other way out of here? I have to be at home very early else I won’t be allowed in in my side of the town.”

She asked impatiently. After a few minutes she was directed to another place out of the estate but led to a lower part of the city with a stern warning from the cab driver.

“Be careful, that place is very dangerous.”

She thanked him and left.
