Must Read: Loss Of Dignity

Change is the only constant thing in life. When Emeka was
sixteen he could barely propose love to a girl whom he loved and
two years after he had turned to a casonova chasing anything in
skirt. The power of heartbreak is greater than one can envisage
because it makes the human mind go crazy. Emeka used to be
that dormat volcano turned Active which had suddenly erupted.

His motlen magma was a boiling inferno untill Folake became the
Lava.

************************

Emeka sighted Folake walking towards his direction from a
distance so he quickly adjusted himself, pocketed his phone and
smelt his breath if it stinks, he nodded his head in approval and
stood up thereby leaning on a wooden stand which acted as a
force holding the compactment of the store. He placed both of his
hands inside his pocket and faced an opposite direction against
the route Folake was approaching him. He pretented as though
he didn’t notice her coming and when she was about to pass him
by Emeka turned his face and greeted in suprise.
“hey, good evening!” emeka said with a big grin on his face.
Folake turned to look at Emeka, his face was familiar but she
could not recalled where she knew him.
“uhm…uhmm, good evening, sorry have we met before?” folake
asked still trying to recognise the face.

“awww, so you don’t remember me again.

well, my name is chidi.

you and your aunty came here to see my parents this afternoon”
emeka said pointing to his house just behind the store.
“oh, pardon my manners. so it was you your dad shouted on for
doing over sabi!” folake said smiling.
It wasen’t really funny to Emeka so he just managed to force a
smile, that was probably a failed attempt at comedy.
“yeah, yeah, it was me. i learnt you came today, so how was your
journey?” emeka asked trying to start up a conversation with her.
“it was fine, i’m just taking a stroll about” folake said bluntly.
“okkay, mind if i show you around?” emeka asked.
“No problem!” folake said.
Emeka jumped on his feet and twisted his waist a little to ease
his stiff back which made Folake laughed. They started to walked
down the street while Emeka showed her various shortcuts which
she could take because of the bad roads. Folake was two years
older than Emeka but one could hardly tell because they had
about the same height and Emeka also had matured masculine
qualities. Since Folake was just a newbie Emeka wanted to strike
first before other guys in the street starts eyeing her.

They continued walking while Emeka queried her about her
perception of Lagos compared to where she came from and the
difference was clear from the way she responded. They got to the
extreme of the street and made to buy maize but it was yet to be
roasted so they waited a little. They woman selling the maize
blew the charcoal and some ashes particles flew to Folake’s face
but Emeka quickly shaded them with his hands.

“madam, you wan stain my wife!” emeka jokingly boasted which
made folake blush.

“aunty abeg no vex, i nor know say the thing go meet you” she
pleaded in order not to lose her customers.

Emeka was feeling superfly, his tactics were clicking. They soon
collected the maize and started munching it whilst they walked
down the street.

It rained cat and dog the previous day so dirty water gathered on
a bad spot at the end of the street. Emeka could easily jumped
his way through some stones arranged along the water but
Folake couldn’t because of her heavy nature so Emeka tried to
carry her from behind which almost made the both of them fell
and they both laughed at Emeka’s stupidity.
Emeka then proceeded to back her and they finally crossed but
not after he felt the smooching touch of her mighty b0s0ms.
They walked towards a primary school and saw a little girl
crying, she was leaning on the school fench with a trail of
oranges beside her. Emeka walked up to her and enquired what
was the problem, admist crying she finally spoke and informed
Emeka that she mistakenly lost her daily sales of N650 and her
step-mother who was her guardian was going to kill her when
she gets home, Emeka felt pity for her and gave her a clean
N1000 note and asked her to keep the change and starts going
home immediatey which made Folake tripped for him because
what he did was rare amongst humans.
Every beginning also has an end, they proceeded to go back
home because it was getting late and Emeka had to be home
before 06:00pm. Emeka escorted her back to her house.

He asked for her number so she called it out for him to save, when
Folake was done calling it, Emeka called the number instantly to
confirm if it was correct and it was.
They shook hands while Emeka waved her goodbye. Aunty
Bimbo had been peeping at them through the window and she
had a furious look on her face.
