I was hit hard by the car. I recognise the owner of the face, he was cockroach. He had revenge. So he had been trailing me all this while. The burn on my face was still fresh, i guess that what he used in recognising me.

I felt the greatest pains on my sides and legs as i fell into the gutter, hitting my head on the concrete edges.

My vision became blurred and the last thing i heared and saw were people screaming. I felt my heartbeat slowing down and my entire body shaking vigorously.

Adamu beckoned me to come through the hell’s gate. I lost vision, my breathing stopped and i sanked into oblivion.

I woke up with a banging headache. I opened my eyes but couldn’t make out any image. Gradually my eyes cell became active and functioning. I looked around the room, it was painted white. The linen which i la!d was blue.

Where am i? What and who brought me here?

Those were the thoughts that crossed my mind.

I trieed recalling what happened but it seemed my memory was blank, as if it had been formatted.

I la!d there, staring at the ceiling. Pains started aching through out my body, mainly from my sides and head. I winced in pain turning my head side to side. My legs felt heavy and unmovable. My hands were connected to a bag of drip. My left leg was bandaged, my sides and my head too. The pain i felt was out of this world.

I tried sitting up but couldnt, my legs were too heavy. I resolved to my fate. Closed my eyes tight and the event of that day played in my memory.

Cockroach did this? Haaaa me too i go revenge sef.

I never knew i was in the hospital, not until a lady with a white over all came in. She walked to me and paused suddenly, ran outside calling “doctor”.

The doctor rushed in with the nurse carrying a tray of drugs a sethoscope hanging on his neck. ”thank God” he muttered. He checked my pulse.
“how are you?” he asked. ”dont worry you will be fine”
i opened my lips to speak but the sound that came out was worst than the frog’s own.

I asked him how i got here, who brought me and when i was brought. He said i have been unconscious for two days. Meaning since wednesday, i woke up on saturday.


The saturday chinyere promised visiting.
“when will i be discharged?” i asked foolishlly.

He and the nurse laughed ” you may stay up to two or three months here. Depends on when you recover. You broke a rib and fractured your kegs. It needs time to heal”
“the nurse will attend to you, let me notify your parent” he said and walked away.

My parent? My mum will definitely cry out her eyes. Two months in the hospital? No s-x? Shaa peace there na. Chai i go mad.

Immediately he left, the nurse came over to my bed, and looked into my teary eyes. I recognise her at once, she was peace.


She smiled and administered the drugs to me. ” dont worry you will be okay” she said and patted my big head.

“chinyere promised to see you today.

She arrived yesterday when i told her of your accident” she said.

Oh ah don die o so she go cme kill me for hospital.
“guess what?” she asked.

“she came with my crush, james. I have a big crush on him ” she said grinning.

At the mention of james, i shivered. My own don finish.
“are you okay” she asked in concern.

“nothing am just having an headache” i said
“ohh sorry dear, let me bring pain killer” she said.I slightly nodded. I wanted to ask her many question but i couldnt bring self to ask.

She went out shaking her bum bum. My b—–d d!c.k smiled at it. She came back, gave me the drugs and went out again saying she has some patients to attend to.The door opened and my parents came. ”bluestarry am so disappointed in you” my dad said
angrily as he walked to me.
