Even if she were to be in a million gathering, i would spot out her voice.
“please baby dont leave now ill explain, i got it from peace your friend here in Nigeria. Am bluestarry your your e e ex” i stammered.

She paused for twenty two seconds, Yes, i actually counted it.
“blue starry? bluestarry? And how the hell did you meet peace? She gave you my number?” she was fuming at the other end of the line. I expected those reaction from her.
“seee i hate you now than the devil. Dont ever call this number again, never again” she yelled.
” I gave you my love, you impregnated me and ran away? Infact this………” she didnt finish yer statement, when mtn cut the call,notifying me that my account was low.

Cheeeeesozzz! I screamed, the last i check my balance N5500. It was finished in the call. I had forgotten it was an international call.

I hissed hitting my leg on chair. I winced in pains.

I went to the nearest kiosk in our compound, bought six N3500 airtime. I knew what to do.

Getting back to my compound, i saw happiness talking with her father. To avoid suspicion, i went greeted the old man. He murmured me an answer. That how he was sef. Sometimes you’ll wish you didnt greet because the way he will answer you will make you wish you can take back your words.

Happiness winked at me. Showing a sign that she will explain later.

I excused them, went inside my apartment.

I started typing a lengthly letter to be sent to chinyere, i needed her forgiveness. Maybe the way i dumped her was the reason God made me loose my job. I knew i still love her, i regretted my actions badly. I hurt her badly too.

I wrote to her, explaining to her why i ran.

It seemed God took a whole century to create her. She was definitely an angel when she was in heaven. If the bible said that God had a wife then it would have been chinyere. She was over beautiful.

I wonder what she found so good in a poor boy like me that she turned down all the rich, and handsome guys that came to her. I respected her for that.

Her parent were rich, as they owned a couple of companies at home and abroad.

The lecturer were not left out in the race of wooing the earth goddess.

I was a friend with her brother joseph. Oh what a friend he was. He is presently in new york. He was the link i got to chinyere. I missed him so much.

That was how i came to know and finally date her. Every link i got was from her brother. Was i shy? You will ask why i didnt do it alone right? I swear you will spend the whole night rehearsing and reciting what you will say to her. But before you even reach her presence, you will find yourself forgetting everything even your name. I have seen a dozen of guys disgracing their selves in her front. That was how i met peace, her friend.

The first day i talked to her, chaaaaai i wish you guys were there. I mean i forgot my name and my mission. I stood there like a dummy staring at the wonders of nature while she and her friend laughed their ar.ss.e out. I didnt go to woo her i went to tell her that her h.o.d wanted to see her.

Through Joseph i gained courage and confidence and finally i was free with her presence.

We joked sometimes when i go visiting Joseph.

I finally asked her out for a date and surprisingly she accepted.

You will say why did Joseph encourage me in dating her sisters when other guys will chase me around with a cutlass like adamu.

The reason was that Joseph trusted me more than anything. He said he needed a good and honest guy to date her sister, not someone who will only exploit her resources and later dump her.

He made me promise not to hurt her. That she was her only sister. Ya there were only three.

I got chinyere pregnant. That was after my convocation. I love my life so much that i dared not in lagos and die. That was the promise that james her elder brother promise me. He had graduated then and was working at chevron.

If i had waited for him to find out, i wouldnt have been here to write this story. I would be probally dead or disable.

So the day chinyere told me she didnt see her period, taking it for a joke, i told her ill help her look for it. Not until i saw the tears gathering in her eyes. Then i knew that day that “THE FEAR OF JAMES IS THE BEGGINING OF A RACE” i was afraid.

Has she tell joseph and james before telling me? I was troubled. I left their house a depressed guy. I almost lost my life that day as a trailer missed me to hit a kid.
“I must not die” i prayed within.
I was just twenty two for God sake.
