End Of Flash Back .


That night i decided to walk alone to the library as i felt i have familiarize with the route around campus.


Just at the bend before the SUG building i saw the cult guy. I tried avoiding looking at him and his nice car and his lady friends and i prayed the dim light of the day takes effect on his sight but not all prayers are answered and unfortunately mine wasn’t.

“pretty boy come over”, the guy beckoned and i almost ran but decided not to. Those 3 ladies sitting on his car or the car are hot and my man below admired instantly.


“greetings”, i said as i walked over to him.


He burst into an uncontrollable laughter and i wondered how my words sound funny.


He controlled himself and like a robot switched to frowning mode.


“what about what i accosted you earlier for”
“don’t you need protection and back up in this campus”, he asked.


The guy lectured me on the gains but not the ills of his offer. According to Seggy(his name) his association is of the good not of evil.


I was just nodding agamasiously as he tried to convince my stony heart. The ladies were also chipping in words of destructions.

“i will think about it”, was my reply as i hurriedly walked away
Friday came and i was already anticipating Mrs Daura’s coming. She told me she will fly in to Lagos on Sunday then hook up with me Monday.
On Saturday evening i located the school field with my boots to play some football. Tis been a while i exercised my body.


I wasn’t chosen in the first 3 set so i had to join the group of Novices to form a 4th.


It was an 10 aside play with 15 minutes after which if there is no winner the two sets will give way.


After waiting for 30 minutes my set entered.


2 minutes in the game i started smiling as i realised the outcast stones are really the best stones.


Lols. Playing from the striking role(3-3-3) formation. I was so pleased with Jacob the number 4 guy. That guy is Kante-like as he uses his physique to much advantage.


5 minutes or so i had struck the bar with a lucky header. The way we passed the ball around unselfishly drew attention from the crowd watching.


The opposition striker struck a stinging shot to the goal post and our goalkeeper(buffon as we later called him) tipped the ball over the bar.


“ref ahbeg how many minutes remain”, i asked cos my eyes started turning me after play of just 10 minutes.


The corner was taken but ran Straight into the hand of Buffon, from nowhere i was strengthened and started running towards the opposition post for a quick counter.


Buffon threw the ball to the right winger guy(very slow guy) who succeeded in giving a through pass to me.


I was faced only with the goal keeper. My heart raced as i realized my future play on that field depends on my scoring prowess.


The shot i whipped to the right top corner of the goal post was enough to leave a tear in the net as it sailed towards the road leading to the zoo..

“a goal”!!! The crowd roared while i celebrated with my team mates.

Something hit my mind, that face i saw smiling and waving at me from the crowd was so familiar. That pretty face!
