The Vow - Season 2 - Episode 22

The family is at the breakfast table in the morning.

Amar joins them and Sindoora tells him he is late as they have breakfast at 9 am.

Rajiv reminds her that Amar is not feeling well.
He tells Divya to serve him some porridge.

Amar says he loves porridge and his mother used to make it for him.

Sindoora watches Amar closely.
Samrat asks Amar when he's leaving.

Amar says he will spend just one more night.
Samrat tells him to stay for the wedding after all Divya stayed in his small house so he can stay in the big house.

Divya doesn't like the way Samrat is talking down to Amar but she maintains her silence.
Sindoora says Amar can stay in the farmhouse if he doesn't like the house.

Rajiv says Amar will only stay in the house and it's their duty to make him feel welcome.
Samrat tells Divya to get ready so they can go shopping.

Kamna meets Samrat in the passage to ask why he hasn't spoken to the family and he's still making arrangements to marry Divya.

He tells her to relax as they are already married.

Kamna bumps into Amar.
He asks why she's crying.
She says she's okay.
He says he knows she's a good girl and her parents must be proud of her.
She tells him they are dead and shows him a photo of Cheenu and Shalu.

Amar starts getting a flashback.
Kamna asks what's wrong.
He tells her that her parents are watching over her and they know she's a good girl.
A doctor comes to check Uma.

Sindoora asks if they can give her sedatives to make her rest more.
The doctor says it will weaken her mind.
Sindoora tells herself that it is exactly what she wants.

She gestures to the nurse.
Samrat and Amar are back from shopping.
Amar feels bad as he sees the clothes they got for the wedding.
Sindoora walks in and says Rajiv and Mahua don't seem excited about their son's wedding.
She says Rajiv especially needs to at least pretend so people don't start wondering if Samrat is truly his son.

Rajiv becomes uncomfortable and leaves the room.

When everyone else leaves the room, Chandra asks Sindoora if she's sure Samrat is not Rajiv's son.

Sindoora says she's not sure but she would find out tomorrow if Samrat is the son or Amar.
Amar is in the garden at night, thinking about Divya getting married.

He thinks about talking to her but doesn't know what to say.

Divya calls his name.
He turns and she tells him it's late and he should be in bed.
He says he can't sleep.
She says she can't sleep either and it must have been the same for him the day before his wedding night.

He is about to tell her how he feels about her getting married but lighting strikes and it starts raining.
They stare at one another.
Amar tries to talk to her again but Sindoora comes to get Divya to come back inside.
Divya turns to leave but her bracelet gets caught in Amar's own.

They both have flashbacks.
Amar unhooks the bracelet and Divya goes inside the house.
Amar tells himself that Divya is getting married into a wealthy family and he has nothing to give her.

Next day, Divya and Mahua are working on the wedding invitations.

Samrat joins them.

He calls Amar who is walking past and shows him the invitation.
He asks for his opinion.
Amar says it's very nice.
Samrat complains of boredom and heat.
Mahua tells him to go swimming in the pool.
Samrat invites Amar to join him.
Sindoora comes to ask Mahua for Samrat.
Mahua says he and Amar went swimming.
Sindoora says there was a storm and a naked wire fell in the pool.

Rajiv, Mahua and Divya rush out.
Samrat says he knows Amar is in love with the girl he left back at Benares.
Amar doesn't respond.

They get to the pool and Samrat tells him that he knows he's a good swimmer.
Amar says everyone born near the river Ganges is one.

They take off their clothes and prepare to enter the pool.
Rajiv, Mahua and Divya get to the pool.
They shout for Samrat and Amar to stop but they can't hear them due to the loud music.

Rajiv runs to them and grabs Amar.

Samrat jumps into the pool and everyone holds their breath but nothing happens to him.
Sindoora is watching.
Samrat comes out and Sindoora tells him there was an electric wire in the pool.
When they all leave, Sindoora tells Chandra that Rajiv saved Amar instead of Samrat which means Amar is his son and the heir of the family.
She says Rajiv hid him for 22 years and she spent her time making Samrat her puppet only to see the picture was a different one than she painted.

Inside the house, Kamna asks Samrat if he's fine.
Samrat says he is.
He takes Divya away.
Kamna tells Amar that his wound is bleeding.
Divya leaves Samrat and walks towards Amar.
Samrat tells her that he has a backache and he needs her.
She reluctantly follows him.

Kamna helps Samrat dress his wound.

He thanks her and asks why she's always sad.
Divya comes back to ask Amar if she can bandage his wound for him.
He says Kamna already did and he thought she was busy and didn't want to disturb her and Samrat.
Kamna leaves to get him some milk.
Divya turns to leave but stands at the door.
She reminds him that he wanted to tell her something earlier.
He says he wants to wish her well with her wedding.
Divya has tears in her eyes.
She goes to the family temple and tells the goddess that she doesn't love Samrat at all but the wedding preparations are done.
She remembers Rajiv saying the goddess has made just one person for everyone.
She asks why she should deceive herself.
She decides that she would tell Samrat how she feels.
She enters the room to meet Samrat.
She tells him that she wants to break off the engagement and can't help it.
Samrat has an earpiece and is having a phone conversation.
He tells Divya that he can't hear her and they will talk later.
He carries on his phone conversation.
Divya leaves the room and Samrat panics because he actually heard all she said.

Samrat goes to Sindoora.
Sindoora says Divya has refused to marry him for a reason because she has changed ever since she came from Benares.
Samrat says it seems he invited trouble to himself.
He says Amar is married.
Sindoora tells him that Amar didn't get married and he came to Delhi for Divya.
She tells him not to let Divya find out that Amar is around just to see her.
Samrat threatens to shoot Amar.
Sindoora tells him to use his brains because there are other ways to get rid of people.
She suggests he comes up with something so big that it gets rid of Amar and Kamna.
Divya sees Amar packing his things.
She asks if he's going somewhere.
He says he has to go back home and he can't stay till her wedding as his parents need him and Chintu too.
She asks about Bindya.
He says Bindya as well.
The bangles his mother gave him fall out of his bag and Divya picks them up.
She says his mother said she would give them to her daughter-in-law.
He says they might have ended up there by mistake.
He says he wishes he could see her in private to talk to her before leaving as he wants her to be very happy.
Divya is about to tell him that the wedding is off but Kamna walks in to tell her that Mahua is calling her.
Sindoora is in her room, pacing.
She tells Chandra that Divya shouldn't find out that Amar is no married to Bindya and Amar shouldn't find out that Divya is calling the wedding off.
She says they have to frame Amar so as to make Divya lose faith in him and marry Samrat.
