[Police Headquarters]
Dean and Kelly sat in front of the top interrogator desk, both looking troubled as they received questions from the interrogator.
It’s been one long hour of interrogation that’s heading nowhere.
“I didn’t order the commander to poison himself to avoid trial. I didn’t even bribe him in the first place, and the laundering evidence in my shredder wasn’t me! This is all set up by my brother.” Dean repeated.
“If y’all incompetent men can’t even sniff that out, then I have nothing to say to you!” He slammed the table.
“Mr. St Graves, you could be sued for—”
“For what exactly!” Kelly spranged up in protest. “For what?”
“And where is the evidence that your brother is behind these?” The interrogator asked calmly. “You kept saying your brother, but where is the backup evidence?”
“Do you know how many crimes he committed without evidence to hold him down?” Dean scoffed. “He’s outsmarting the government, and—”
“Same brother who launched his investment firm just this morning?” The interrogator raised his brows.
“What!” Dean and Kelly shot up from their chairs at the same time.
And as if planned, Tobias came out of the second department with wounded Jude by his left side and two other Odds by his right side.
They came to bail Jude, actually.
“Tobias?” Dean said unbelievably.
“What the fûck is Tobias doing here?” Kelly asked.
“His staff got arrested for police harassment last night, and he’s here to bail him as you can see.” The interrogator informed them.
“No! Y’all can’t see?” Dean shouted. “He’s behind all of these, I swear with my life. I swear!!!”
“You have to do something, Tobias is a snake who’d slither anywhere to do his job!” It’s him!” Kelly added.
Tobias’s eyes met with Dean’s through the partition glass, and Tobias cursed Dean with a really dark smirk which nearly split Dean in two.
“Bastard!!!” Dean yelled, wanting to smash the glass, but he was pulled back and held down.
Outside, Tobias entered the same car with Jude while the other Odds entered the second car.
“Thanks for bailing me out, Firstie.” Jude talked with difficulty, his split lips looking heavy.
“No, don’t do that…” Tobias told him. “I sent you on a job, and you did it perfectly, J. It’s my duty to take you out of the trap I sent you to.”
“I’d do anything, trust me.” Jude smiled like he just achieved a degree.
“Go home, and get your facial wounds treated.” Tobias lit a cigar, taking a slow minty drag.
“Is the plan with the Whitehouse in place though?” Jude asked.
“I’m gonna be visiting the Whitehouse tommorow. I have a feeling things would go south, and I need to make my move.” Tobias said.
Jude nodded.
He left the car and joined the other Odds car which drove off immediately.
Tobias swallowed Xanax pills again before taking his phone, checking out his voicemails.
There’s a new one, and when he saw who it’s from, his thumb clicked it instinctively.
“I miss you too, Tobias.”
That was her voice.
Unmistakable.
He grabbed the steering like it’d disappear if he grabbed any later.
The speed he drove off with?
Lethal.

[The District]
The district reconstruction process started today, and the view is catastrophic.
So many houses are down already. Houses of powerless civilians are being destroyed.
Redd Holdings is in charge of the reconstruction, and Marley could be seen inside one of the cars lining the road. The man stayed behind his tinted glass, directing the destruction of the buildings without pity.
He was able to get this massive district after constantly getting double-crossed by Tobias, so he’s doing this with the frustrations that had been penting up since long.
Civilians could be seen crying out, screaming, wailing for the loss of their homes, but Marley wouldn’t care less. They’re spineless anyways.
He already bought this whole district.
And when the bulldozers got to the next building, he smiled behind his glass, cos that building is Uncle Will’s Foster Home.
Kindred Foster Home.
“Feels good to watch this…” Marley grinned evilly as the orphans ran out of the building into the streets.
The slow ones among the kids were destroyed along with the building.
Marley picked the incoming call he got from Genevieve.
“How’s the reconstruction going?” Genevieve asked curiously.
“The bulldozers just got to the Foster Home of their Uncle. I haven’t seen a better scene all my life, Gene.” He laughed satisfactorily.
“Oh, cool…” Genevieve chuckled. “I’ll bring you a better news soon, cos I just contacted people to go play with Saint St. Graves tonight.”
“I’m waiting for the news…” Marley laughed louder, glasses fogging.
