[Vince’s Crib]
Vince’s men are out of the room now, left with Vince and his father.
Vince lay on his face, and Uncle Will held a bottle of creamy medicine which he’s applying on his back wound with a flat scooper.
Vince looked lifeless on that bed. He’s not saying a word, like he’s too angry to talk or even move.
“Stay angry all you want, Vincent. I did what I had to do.” Will sighed.
“Did what you had to do by handing the Memorial Estates over to Saint after I warned you not to?” Vince spranged up.
Despite his pains, he rolled off the bed and stood, groaning.
“You went against me!” He pointed fingers. “And you won’t expect my comeback! Saint’s body will become a part of the dead bodies inn that estate grounds very fuckin soon!”
“Do not touch Saint, Vincent! I’m warning you!” Will stood to his son.
“You’re even siding them to my face?” Vince laughed. “You’re siding them to my face now? Daddy!!”
“And I heard about how you’re planning to involve the President. Don’t try it, don’t make matters worse!” Will shouted.
“My woman was taken!!!” Vince screamed, mad. “She was taken by Tobias, and she already gave me a sign that she wants me to take her back! She stabbed me, meaning she wants me back, and I’ll do anything to get her away from him and take her where she belongs!”
“If I had heard the story of how you disgraced her in highschool, I wouldn’t have even agreed when you told me to order Dean to marry her for your sake!” Will spat.
“The bloody skirt didn’t belong to her!” Vince argued.
“But you gave it to Kimmy, and Kimmy made everyone believe it belonged to her!” Will said.
“And after that, every male stayed away from her cos they believed she’s a wayward bitch who was sleeping with her teacher! I liked it!” Vince laughed loudly.
“That was your plan from the beginning?” Will gasped. “To make men stay away from her?”
“Yes yes…” Vince yelled crazily. “Yes!!! Everyone stayed away from her for years except that thief Tobias, and you think it’s ok to leave him alive? Watch me take his soul!”
He took his phone from the bed, and turned around.
He went to the Window and dialled a Secretary at the Whitehouse.
“Yes, Mr. Vince St. Graves?”
“May I be scheduled to meet the President in two days? It’s really urgent. It’s about my dead mother, and Ruth who’s currently on a wheelchair, and about a bastard here in NYC.” Vince asked.
“I’ll relay your request, sir. You’ll get a response before noon tommorow.” The secretary replied.
“Sure,” Vince hung up with a smile.
Uncle Will sat back in bed, letting tears out of his eyes.
“I shouldn’t have disowned you back then, Vincent. I shouldn’t have let you leave the house, maybe you wouldn’t have turned crazy like this…”
Vince faced him.
“No, Daddy. I even wanna thank you for disowning me that year, cos if you didn’t, I wouldn’t have achieved this far. Now I’m back to take care of you and take what’s mine, you only have to calm down and follow my steps.”
“How?” Will looked up. “How were you able to amass this wealth over the years?” He asked.
“I’m not telling you the story yet,” Vince blinked. “But someday, I’ll tell you, and you’ll get to know about the number of billionaires I control in this city.” He laughed again.
Uncle Will sniffled, looking at Vince’s unbalanced knees.
“How’s it?” He asked.
“I had seven surgeries already, but they weren’t enough to reset the bones. I have another one scheduled for two months now, and I believe it’ll get straight then, but don’t let the unbalanced knees fool you, Daddy. I’ve fought too many wars with these knees, and I still stood.” Vince said.
Will sighed.
Vince placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Daddy, you don’t have to worry. I won’t let harm come your way. You only have to promise you won’t let me down again. Just watch me take care of everything singlehandedly.”
Uncle Will looked at him, and Vince gave him a assuring nod.
“And your Foster Home? We’re gonna start my move from there. I’ll make a huge donation as your son and enter the people’s heart with that,.”
Will didn’t argue.
He just nodded.
Vince straightened, snapping his fingers. His men rushed in.
“The 5.5M on my woman’s IG is disgusting. Go employ bots and take it to 15 or 20 before the week ends. She’s the hottest woman alive right now, she deserves more and more till I’ll finally take her.” He ordered.
Two of the men left to do that.
“And Wrath Investments Empire?” Another man asked.
“I have it under control,” Vince sighed. “That’s why I’m involving the President. Tobias won’t get what he wants for the first time ever.”

[Next Day – Seraphina’s Mansion]
What drew Seraphina to this house wasn’t the flowers, painting, size, or lights, it was the extra room inside.
An extra room where she can gym alone and do subtle trainings alone.
It’s located beside her bedroom.
She had entered the room since 3am cos she couldn’t sleep, and she has been putting herself to work on the gym machines and subtle self-trainings. She didn’t use the gun.
She already handles the gun perfectly, so she used the knife.
She made funny, weird moves around the room with the knife.
Even if it doesn’t make sense, at least she’s making effort.
When she faces danger, she’ll be able to save herself for the first two to three minutes before crying for help.
And something kept telling her Vince is still alive, so for him, she’s aware she needs this self-guidance.
Also, Tobias didn’t call back last night, and he didn’t text back too. She had stared at her phone till a certain time before pushing the device away.
He must have been regretting what he said last night. He must have been back to his senses and be thinking that why would he tell her he missed her? Maybe that’s it.
Maybe he didn’t mean it.
She swung the knife in the air again, taking two steps right, one step back, one sway, one bend, one leap, one duck, and one jump.
She knows she’s doing well, so she continued, drowning herself in the feelings and exercise till her eyes caught her wristwatch.
“8am?” She sounded, going still. “Shit!” She removed her headband and rushed out of the gym.
She carried her knife with her though, and she tucked it in her purse when she arrived in her room.
Her phone was the first thing she took, and when she saw she got a voicemail, she gulped.
Seeing who it’s from, she gulped two more times.
She quickly sat at the edge of the bed, nearly falling as she played it…
“I don’t make promises, Sera, but I feel like it’s compulsory to have you back in my orbit, so I’m gonna make one now. I’ll never, pull the trigger at you again, I promise. If I do, never look at me or say a word to me again for the rest of your existence. But please, let me back in, I miss you, it’s not fakery, but how are you gonna know if you don’t let me show it?”
She replayed it again and again to be sure she heard right.
It’s his voice, no mistakes. It’s his number, his tone.
It’s really him.
She stood slowly, playing it again.
He meant it. He fuckin meant it.
He misses her?
A smile shot to her lips, and she bit those lips hard before listening to the voicemail again.
She grinned, pressing the phone to her chest as she listened.
“OMG!” She sat back, laying in bed.
She listened again.
If voicemails had their own minds, the mail would have been screaming for help from over-play right now.
The ringing of the phone interrupted Seraphina’s moment.
She sat up, brushing her hair away from her face. It’s Allison.
“Hey Mama!” She picked.
“Babe! I found a really good building you can use for your brand for the meantime, at least till your own building would be ready.” Allison informed breathlessly.
“What would I do without you?” Seraphina smiled.
“I know, first born. You can’t do without me.” Allison grinned. “So, let’s meet at the building, I’ll send you the address.” She promised.
“Sure,” Seraphina agreed.
“And please…. cover your face with shades or something. I can’t handle your people swooning you again. You have to make do with disguise till we find bodyguards, my celebrity girlfriend.” Allison hyped sweetly.
“I knooow….” Seraphina blushed.
“And did he come by your place last night? I mean..the cultist.” Allison asked. “I swear he came to my place and I told him your location even before he asked! It’s the first time I saw him that close and I couldn’t help it! He looked hollow!”
Seraphina laughed.
“Yeah, he came. I’ll tell you everything later.”
“Oh…and check business news, you’d be shocked. This week is already so delicious from the start.” Allison tipped before hanging up.
Seraphina went downstairs curiously, turning on her TV.
The business news is really bustling with new headlights this morning.
Wrath Investments Empire case is out in the open. Laundering evidence found in their CEO shredder, and he tried to bury the case by bribing the investigation team commander. The commander was arrested, and he poisoned himself in the cell last night just to escape trial.
“Fûck….” Seraphina sat to digest the news very well.
Now, a new investment firm is up in the business market. Black Rose Capitals, just this morning.
Seraphina stood, blinking at the name of the firm.
Black Rose Capitals.
“Tobias?” She muttered.
