Sweet Sin - S01 E125

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 125

The number of beats that ran across Seraphina’s heart that actual second was countless. She nearly had a seizure, and she had to quickly hold her chest, knotting the singlet.

With her second hand, she grabbed the curtain she stood behind, panting as the words sank in again.

PLEASE.

He said please.

He said he missed her.

He said he was loosing his mind.

She knotted tighter at her chest, gasping as her heartbeats picked up again. She could hear the dangerous thuds in her ears, so loud it nearly punctured her eardrums.

Her shock didn’t even let her know that she had already cut the call.

Her thumb must have touched the red mistakenly.

She wore her slipons and rushed out of the bedroom. Her one step would cover two steps if she were walking, but she’s running.

The stairs are twenty, but she touched just ten cos she took them two at once, throwing the door open.

She came to a standstill, gulping.

His car is gone.

No Tobias. No car.

The sweat on her face turned cold, rolling into her cleavage and cascading down her breàsts valley to her tummy, tickling her.

But she wasn’t even feeling it. He’s gone, he’s not here anymore.

She checked her phone again to be sure he’s the one who called.

It was really him, so where’s he?

She clicked on his line, dialling.

It’s off.

Her mind wandered off.

What’s occuring?

[Tobias’s Oddsion]

Tobias’s car zoomed into the park noiselessly, and the headlights went off for two minutes before he got down from the car, looking tipsy.

Yalda rushed out to him, and seeing him tipsy made her shock.

“This is the first time whiskey entered your head, Wrath. What a sight.” She muttered with a small smile.

Tobias threw his dead phone at her, and she caught it to her chest.

“Get it charged,” he instructed.

“I get it…” She nodded. “And by the way, Jude went for the last part of the station mission.”

“Great,” he coldly responded, walking inside with calculated steps.

Yalda followed.

“Also, i investigated Dean’s missing Secretary like you ordered, and I found out he came to work that day, so whatever happened to him happened at the Empire. And the most interesting part? That same night, Dean and Kelly were the last to leave the Empire, and they took a sudden visit to the Memorial Estates.”

“Dean killed his Secretary?” Tobias smirked slightly. “That bastard is only good at talking, he can’t act to save his life, Yalda. Dean was scared of my spiders and butterflies, and I’m sure he’s still scared of them. The only reason his Secretary would die by his hands would be if he’s under pressure from a source.”

Tobias’s eyes darkened.

“Valhalla, isn’t one of their sins murder? Murder of someone you care deeply about?”

“Are you saying…” Yalda’s eyes lowered. “They initiated Dean?”

Tobias chuckled, his tipsiness clearing off. “I told you Xero can be a smart bastard sometimes, and here’s the evidence. He took Dean in the club so he’d have Wrath Investments Empire under his wings, and Dean…that idiot knows nothing, he’d be snorted out without notice.”

“That’ll be his luck. He walked into a colony of ants himself.” Yalda smiled with her mouth corner. “And the President? When are we visiting the Whitehouse?” She asked.

“Calm down, damn…” He gave her a blank look.

“I know you’re worried about Seraphina,” Yalda said. “But you don’t have to worry. If there’s anyone who knows how you operate the best, it’s me. She’ll come around, I know you didn’t mean to kill her.”

“You know I hate consolation…” Tobias mentioned.

“I do,” Yalda nodded. “But you’re like my father, and you can’t push it away.” She shrugged.

“You’re getting too bold,” Tobias pointed at her before stepping in.

Yalda followed him, attaching his phone to the wall carrier which would transport it to the exclusive charging area.

“The Empire might still take a lotta time to take back, and that’s why I thought we could make use of Seraphina’s upcoming crocheting brand for the laundering, for now.”

Tobias stopped, turning back with a deep frown and gritted jaws.

Yalda paused.

“Never, I warn you. Never mention laundering with her business again. I’m not gonna mess with her brand, and you’re not going to mention this again.” He warned darkly.

“I get it.” Yalda nodded. “I’ll prepare to launch our investment firm tommorow. Now that WIE is in trouble, it’s the best time to shoot.”

“Good, that’s what I wanna hear.” Tobias tilted his eyes.

“And about Vince…” Yalda added.

“When it’s time for my clash with that cripple, he’ll find me himself like I said, and I’ll shred off his mouth and chest flesh. Let him make his plans for now. You can focus more on Kimmy if you want to keep yourself busy.” Tobias instructed.

“You know I like setting married bitches straight,” Yalda smiled. “I love fuckin them before killing them, but she’s a smelly one I don’t wanna fûck, so I’ll just off her straight.”

“No, you have no right to off her.” Tobias heaved. “Bring her to me, and get me Viagra for Grimm.”

Yalda’s eyes lit.

“Grimm is gonna get some pussy?” She laughed. “Well, fun is coming, and I can’t fuckin’ wait.”

She rushed out, and Tobias elevated up to his room.

He picked his phone from the charging space. Seeing it has a little battery life already, he dialled her line, pacing the room.

She didn’t pick. It slid him into voicemail, so he left a message…

“I don’t make promises, Sera, but I feel like it’s compulsory to have you back in my orbit, so I’m gonna make one now. I’ll never, pull the trigger at you again, I promise. If I do, never look at me or say a word to me again for the rest of your existence. But please, let me back in, I miss you, it’s not fakery, but how are you gonna know if you don’t let me show it?”

He sent the voicemail and threw his phone back on bed, then he pulled a drug bottle out of his drawer.

He shook one pill of Xanax to his palm, swallowing the anti-anxiety drug without water.

That calmed his shaky body a little, and he entered the bathroom to soak his throbbing head with water too.

Like that, he left for the handlers room. They were already working on his investment shell company even before he got there.

Seeing him with wet hair and soaked upper body, they were shocked, but they dare not ask questions.

Estelle who came in here to watch them quickly stepped back.

“Start by giving a low return policy, and make sure it’s lower than WIE returns. No high collateral, no high ultimatum, just easy contracts and easy payments.” Tobias instructed.

“What’s going to be the name?” A handler asked. “That’s why only remaining part..the company name.”

“Black Rose Capitals, BRC.” Tobias said with that creepy knowing smile.

The handlers got to work completely. No more questions, just work.

Tobias’s head made that straight noise again, and his body began the subtle tremble.

He went back to his room and swallowed five pills of Xanax and alpranax all at once.

His eye corners changed color, and his ears made strange noises too.

What the fûck is going on?

Is he really losing his mind?

He was chewing the bitter drugs as he checked his phone.

No reply from her.

[A Busy Street]

Jude emerged from the shadow between two derelict buildings, his hood pulled low, and every step measured.

There’s a police checkpoint at the end of the street. He walked toward it without hesitation.

One of the officers barely had time to glance up before Jude’s fist exploded into his jaw.

The officer stumbled sideways with a curse.

Jude spun to run, but three pairs of hands seized him before he could.

They wrenched his arms behind his back. He didn’t struggle. Instead, he laughed.

“People wake up wanting to punch somebody sometimes,” he drawled, sounding like the gutter thug he wanted them to think he is.

One officer shoved him hard enough to stagger as he was handcuffed and pushed into the car.

“Tell that to your cellmates, you’re going to jail.” He assured him.

Jude said nothing during the drive.

His phone and watch were confiscated.

He surrendered each item without argument, staring silently through the patrol car window.

Exactly as planned.

His fingerprints were taken when they arrived. His name was logged, then an officer unlocked a holding cell and shoved him inside.

A large man in his mid-forties was already inside the cell.

The expensive shirt beneath his detention vest didn’t hide the fact that he wasn’t an ordinary prisoner.

The man jerked away in disgust, facing the officer who brought Jude.

“You’re putting this filthy street rat in here with me?” he barked.

The officer snorted. “Funny hearing that from another inmate.”

“I’m not an inmate.” The man shot.

The officer folded his arms. “Commander Daniel Hurst, you were arrested for accepting a bribe.”

“I didn’t take a damn bribe!” The commander stood sharply. “I never accepted money from Dean St. Graves to bury that investigation!”

“There was enough evidence in your system!” the officer shot back.

“It was planted!” The commander stepped toward the bars. “Someone infiltrated headquarters and planted those files in my system!”

The officer laughed outright. “You expect me to believe somebody hacked police headquarters just to frame you?”

“They did!” The commander shouted.

The steel door slammed shut as the office closed it, and the echo rang through the corridor.

“I didn’t take the bribe!!” the commander roared, smashing both fists against the bars. “Check the security cameras!”

His desperate screams faded into silence, then a quiet chuckle came, and he turned.

Jude sat against the wall, one knee raised, smiling mockingly.

“What the hell are you smiling at?” The commander sneered, crossing the cell in three strides.

He seized Jude by the collar and slammed him into the bars hard.

“You think sharing a cage with me makes us friends?”

Jude looked into his eyes..”Aren’t you the famous commander whose corruption destroyed his entire unit? I heard your department lost everything because of you.”

The commander growled.

“You little—”

Jude moved, so fast the older man never saw it. His elbow slammed deep beneath the commander’s ribs.

Air blasted from the man’s lungs in a gasp, and that single involuntary breath was all Jude needed.

The tiny capsule he had been hiding beneath his tongue slipped effortlessly into the man’s open mouth.

Reflex took over, and the commander swallowed before he realized.

His eyes widened, then realization hit. “What…” His fingers clawed at his own throat. “What did you just make me swallow?”

Jude straightened his jacket, and his smile disappeared.

“It’ll dissolve in your stomach. No taste, no trace, it goes straight for the heart, and after your death, when they cut you open, they’ll call it sudden cardiac failure.”

The commander’s face drained of color. “You poisoned me!”

He lunged for Jude. “I’m going to fuckin kill you!!”

Jude didn’t dodge or block or defend himself. The commander’s weight smashed him into the bars.

Steel bit into the back of Jude’s skull, and pain exploded through his vision. The first punch from the commander shattered his lip, and the second split his eyebrow. The third broke something inside his nose.

Blood flooded over his face.

Still, he refused to fight back. Every punch landed exactly where he wanted it. His body folded beneath the beating, his cheek scraped across rough concrete, and boots slammed into his ribs.

His own blood filled his mouth until every breath tasted like rust.

Then, he let himself scream, loud enough for someone to hear.

Outside the cell, an officer making routine rounds stopped when he heard the scream.

His radio flew to his mouth.

“Officer down, area four! Prisoner assault in progress!”

Footsteps thundered through the corridor as more officers rushed in.

Four officers dragged the commander away while two others lifted Jude from the blood-soaked floor.

The commander fought against them with animal desperation.

“I’ve been poisoned!” he screamed.

“He made me swallow something!”

“You have to believe me!”

Jude coughed violently, and blood spilled from between his teeth before he tried to talk.

“He…” His swollen lips barely moved as he spoke. “He kept saying he’d rather die than face the shameful trial. He said he’d kill himself… and I tried to stop him….i swear, but he already swallowed the pill himself.”

The officers exchanged uneasy looks.

“He’s lying!” the commander shrieked. “I would never kill myself! I’m innocent! I never took money from Dean St Graves! I’m being framed!”

No one answered him.

They were too busy looking at Jude’s ruined face.

His broken nose, swollen eyes, and the blood coating the concrete.

It all painted a convincing story.

As the officers half-carried Jude toward the infirmary, he smiled faintly. Only one corner of his mangled mouth moved.

Behind him, the commander’s screams became increasingly frantic.

A toxicology team came to get him, but by the time they reached the examination room, the poison already dissolved.

His heart already failed.
