The last statement detonated through the hall.
Reporters surged forward, their camera lenses snapped towards Seraphina with frenzied shutters.
Seraphina’s fingers curled around the edge of the podium until her knuckles whitened.
Anxiety clawed persistently at her ribs, but it didn’t reach her face. She didn’t blink or twitch.
Her gaze slid to Genevieve and Marley. They were staring at like she’d suddenly grown horns.
At the back of the hall, Allison and Bexley looked just as stunned.
Bexley felt her stomach tighten.
The Seraphina she knew would’ve folded beneath the weight of these cameras. The Seraphina she knew apologized for existing.
The Seraphina she knew cried if someone raised their voice at her.
But the woman standing on that podium… She looked different.
She’s not even stammering?
“This moment can’t slip by!” Allison squealed and yanked out her phone.
She began recording Seraphina.
She had expected Seraphina to flee, but instead, Seraphina declared war.
Genevieve immediately stepped onto the podium beside Seraphina, her smile polished with deception.
“My daughter has suffered greatly since her disownment, so naturally, she’d become desperate enough to ruin her sister’s reputa—”
“I am not your daughter.” Seraphina’s words slammed into Genevieve, cutting her off.
The hall erupted with more flashes and more shutters.
More chaos.
Genevieve’s smile faltered. “Seraphina—”
“I got disowned.” Seraphina turned to face her completely. “Remember? That means I’m not your daughter.”
Genevieve felt like she was slapped in the face, but it wasn’t over….
“And this podium was prepared for me. So, get off it.” Seraphina continued, sleekly. “I own the cameras today, bring Dora out.”
Genevieve’s scheme shattered right there on stage, and things got more tensive when the doors opened.
Dora arrived alongside Kimmy.
“Why the hell would she come here?” Marley whispered.
“Cursed girl!” Kimmy shrieked. “Get down from that podium before you embarrass yourself further!”
Dora folded her arms arrogantly. “Trying to crawl back into the family?” she sneered. “We don’t have room for parasites anymore.”
The instant the words left her mouth, every camera faced her.
Dora paused. Her folded arms slowly dropped. Why the f+k is everyone looking at her?
“I’ve been waiting for you, Dora.” Seraphina’s voice came.
Dora turned, and every camera followed her. Every eye and breath.
Even Kimmy looked unsettled.
What’s happening?
“Prove the crochets are yours!” Allison shouted from the back.
“What?” Dora barked.
Then came the reporters pressurizing words one after the other…
“Accept the challenge, Dora Redd!”
“Show the public!”
“Bring the crochet tools!”
“Get on the podium!”
The pressure multiplied, but the cameras never left Dora’s face.
She glanced desperately towards Genevieve and Marley, but no rescue came from them.
“Dora, leave!” Kimmy yelled.
“No.” Seraphina shouted, stepping down from the podium.
She crossed the distance and grabbed Dora’s wrist, dragging her forward.
“Let go of me!” Dora shrieked.
“You own the designs?” Seraphina tightened her grip. “Then prove it.”
Allison appeared with a large box overflowing with yarn, hooks, needles and supplies.
“Where did that come from?” Seraphina muttered.
“No idea,” Allison replied. “A yarn store delivered it.”
Her Church Father immediately came to Seraphina’s mind.
Is there anything he can’t fuckin do? He’s definitely behind this too.
She dumped the contents of the box onto the podium.
Hooks and yarn rolled.
She handed Dora a crochet hook and took another one for herself.
She raised two different yarn ends for the both of them too.
Then she faced Dora. “Show me they’re yours, Dora.” She breathed.
Dora couldn’t even move.
Seraphina closed her eyes, and that drew confused murmurs from everyone.
The reporters didn’t understand, but Seraphina knew what she was doing.
In the past, at Redd Estate, there were days Dora and Kimmy found amusement in destroying her only recommended glasses.
And she would crochet like that with blurry blind eyes.
So today, she didn’t need her eyes.
Her fingers began moving, and the yarn obeyed. The hook danced.
With closed eyes, she crocheted.
Meanwhile, Dora stood frozen. She couldn’t even thread the yarn correctly, couldn’t start or fake it.
The hall became eerily still. Only the clicking of cameras remained.
Seraphina opened her eyes thirty minutes later, then she lifted the finished piece of crochet.
A flawless tie-up bralette—the very same design that was sabotaged.
The reporters surged forward immediately, desperate to capture every angle of the masterpiece.
“It’s real!”
“I personally never believed the accusations anyways.”
“She’s the owner of the work!”
“Only the owner can make it this perfect with closed eyes.”
“Confirmed! Seraphina was only sabotaged. She owns it!”
“The closedown of Kiss Fashion Clan is hereby demanded!”
“Dora Redd is a false accuser!”
“No, the whole Redd family!”
It only took a minute. The hall became lit with different aggressive comments, declarations and takes.
Dora disappeared before anyone knew it. It’s like she supernaturally left the podium or something.
Kimmy disappeared too.
Genevieve and Marley are the only ones still trying to leave the hall with their guards protection, but reporters refused to let them out with their suffocating questions.
• Why did you support Dora’s lies, Mr. Marley Redd?
• Why did your granddaughter lie to the public, Mrs. Genevieve Redd?
• How do you intend to manage this?
• What do you have to say to the waiting public?
When Marley couldn’t take the heat anymore, he had to talk…
“As y’all know, Dora showed schizophrenic signs not long ago,” he craftily said. “Maybe she mistook Seraphina’s design for hers, and Peach is still so young … Yunno kids can be mistaken at times, but not to worry, I’ll settle this fairly and make sure Peach and Dora gets their strict questioning and punishment.”
Seraphina caught up with them close to the door, stern. “Dora’s Kiss Fashion Clan will be closed down like I earlier stated, and she’s going to lick my feet no matter what. And Peach? I don’t care about that one, I only want Dora’s head below me.”
Those words from Seraphina made Genevieve smile tightly.
“Of course, like Marley said… we’ll settle this fairly.” She nodded.
With that, she left the hall with Marley, but reporters still rushed after them, struggling to get them to say some more to the cameras.
Allison embraced Seraphina tightly, smiling for her exoneration.
“I’m so happy for you, Phina. I’m so fuckin happy. I was scared the Redds would twist things as usual, but you actually won against them!”
“I still can’t believe it,” Seraphina chuckled. “I mean…I didn’t even prepare for this press-con.”
“Exactly!” Allison broke the hug. “Who said my girl isn’t brainy? Look at you controlling cameras. You even crocheted with closed eyes?”
“Anything to claim my work back,” Seraphina laughed.
“I knoooow,” Allison smiled. “But this helper of yours? Is he a genie? Cos I’m sure he planned this press-con and even sent the box? Look at the sea of reporters he gathered! I swear I haven’t seen these faces before. Your helper is fuckin awesome!”
Seraphina smiled slowly, awkwardly. “Yeah, he is.”
“What’s the issue?” Allison blinked. “You sound like…”
“I don’t sound like nothing!” Seraphina shut her up.
Allison laughed, hugging her again.
Behind, Bexley is still shocked.
How did Seraphina make it out of the grounds of Valhalla Club alive???
—
Outside, Genevieve exploded immediately she got in the car with Marley. She was panting.
“Why would you throw Dora under the bus like that! Why would you mention her schizophrenia in public? Why would you put everything on her when you’re the one who planned the press-con and made Peach tell the lie on the podium!”
“Dora’s name was the easiest effing way!” Marley yelled. “Should I have mentioned your name when you’re about to release your next blockbuster Broadway show? Should I have mentioned my name or Kimmy when Redd Holdings would be at risk for it? Dora is just ok! Her Fashion Clan would only lay low for a while till people will forget!”
“She layed low three months ago when she was in rehab, and now she’s gonna lay low again?” Genevieve sneered. “Dora worked hard since she was ten to get her Fashion Clan to where it is, but now she’s gonna keep laying low everytime cos of this family? That cursed girl was saying she’s gonna lick her feet too!!”
“That is never happening, Genevieve!” Marley shouted. “My daughter is never getting down in front of the cursed girl! I’ll handle this, but for now, we should find out why she’s out of Valhalla grounds!”
Genevieve threw her head back at the headrest, frustrated. “This is making my blood boil. There better be a plausible explanation from Leader. There better be one plausible explanation!” She sounded.
“There’ll be,” Marley responded, dialling Dora’s line as the car moved.

[Redd Estate]
Acosta hasn’t left the living room since Kimmy and her parents left.
He remained there, looking like he’s not even ready to go to work as he stared down at the gift he got her.
The jewelries are all on the floor, scattered. She even marched them when she was running out earlier.
Peach sat on the couch opposite him, looking at him expectantly. She has been expecting him to talk for so long, but he choose silence.
“You aren’t gonna apologize for what you did?” She snapped rudely.
Acosta looked up, meeting her demanding eyes.
“You’re never supportive, never at home. Why can’t you be like mum?” She further demanded.
“Peach…” Acosta sighed.
“I demand an apology!” She stood.
“Peach!” Acosta stood too.
“What!” Peach rolled eyes. “If mum should hear that I stabbed a schoolmate with my hairpin, she would praise me, but you? All you do is complain at every move!”
“You did what??” Acosta’s eyes widened. “You stabbed what?”
“I told her to fail her reading test on purpose so I can top the class, but she refused, so I stabbed her.” Peach shrugged, crossing her arms.
“Tell me it’s a lie!” Acosta dashed to her, but she shifted away to the TV angle, and the news on the TV caught Acosta’s attention easily.
🎙️
The disowned daughter of the Redd family, Seraphina has claimed back her work just now in an overwhelming press-con which has been marked as the most crowded press-con ever in NYC. Now the public demands proper punishment for Dora Redd and Peach Redd, the granddaughter of the family…
“Wait…what!” Peach gasped. “How did it turn out this way?”
Acosta nodded. “Seraphina did nothing wrong, of course she’ll always find her rights.”
They heard the elevator dinging, meaning someone came back.
Acosta waited for a while before riding the elevator to the last place it went—the third floor.
There, she met Kimmy and Dora in front of Dora’s room, arguing.
“How could dad say my name like that? Why always me despite all I do for this family? I’m the same person who went to rehab to lay low not long ago, now I have to close down my brand to lay low again? Bull fuckin shit!” Dora howled.
“Listen, it might not even take up to a week!” Kimmy said cajolingly. “I’m sure dad would find a way to make something more controversial happen so people will focus on that and forget about this stupid issue!”
“Crap!” Dora glared daggers. “I don’t wanna lay low even for a day! I’ve got plans for too many people…for Bexley, for Saint, and for Seraphina herself cos now it seems like even their incapable Valhalla Club can’t handle her. I’ll do it myself!”
“Don’t do anything without informing mum and dad first!” Kimmy tried to apply caution.
“F+k them! Did dad tell me before saying my name in front of the reporters and even mentioning my schizophrenia?” Dora pushed Kimmy off. “Get out of my fuckin’ face!”
She entered her room and slammed the door on Kimmy’s face.
Acosta stood still beside the elevator, watching wordlessly.
Peach came out of the elevator too, rushing over to Kimmy.
“Mum! Am I gonna be told to lay low too? But I told the lies like I was taught. I made no mistake!”
“The problem isn’t with us, baby,” Kimmy assured. “The problem is with that cursed thing, but trust your grandmum and granddad to take care of things. Don’t worry.”
“Get prepared, Peach. We’re leaving for your hospital check at night.” Acosta said.
Kimmy looked up.
“Seriously? This family is in crisis now, and today as my birthday is already ruined by the Frump, but you’re not doing anything about it!”
“What would I possibly do?” Acosta coldly said and got in the elevator.
“Asshole!” Kimmy cussed.
