“Ma’am, you have a guest.” Margaret, David’s nanny announced.

“A guest?” Sandra repeated with a de-ep frown on her face.

“Okay. I will be right down to see who it is. Just go and entertain him…or her.”

“It’s Dr. Marshall, actually.”

“Marshall?” She reiterated, shocked. “Okay. I’m coming.”

“Okay, ma’am.” Margaret stepped out of the room and shut the door behind her.

Sandra stood up from the bed, pulling her hair up into a ponytail.

“Why is Marshall here?” She wondered, leaving the bedroom as well.

••••

“Marshall,” Sandra called out as she entered the living room.

He rose up to his feet and spread out his arms for her. She took the hint and rushed to hug him.

“How are you?” He pressed a delicate kis-s on top of her head.

“Fine. I was expecting you here at my house. You didn’t tell me you were coming over.” She said, pulling out of the embrace.

“I wanted to surprise you. Seems like I did a good job in doing that.” He smiled.

“Well, maybe.” She smiled back at him. “Please sit down.”

“Hey, I am no stranger here so stop treating me like one.” He faked a glare but still took the offer by sitting down.

Sandra giggled and took a seat beside him. “Yeah, right. I’m sorry if I make you feel like a stranger.”

He waved her off. “It’s okay.”

“So, are you going to tell me why you came over?” She asked.

“I miss you.”

“As much as I like that, I know that’s not what brou-ght you here, darling.” She crossed her legs. “Did something happen?”

“Not really…” He sighed. “I came to talk about your plans,”

“Oh, come on, didn’t I tell you not to worry about it? I have everything under control.”

“Are you sure what you plan on doing won’t hurt the kid?”

“What do you take me for, Marshall? A murderer?” She scoffed.

“I’m sorry. I just don’t want us to make any mistake. Hating Dr. Abby is something but hurting a patient only to spite her is another thing. We need to be extra careful with what we do.” He said.

Sandra nodded her head. “I know and trust me, I am always careful.” She leaned towards him and pecked his li-ps.

“You’ve got nothing to wordy about.”

“Dr. Marshall?” A tiny voice called out, interrupting them.

Sandra immediately pulled away from Marshall and turned around to face her little prince.

“Honey,” She grinned, waving her hand for him to come over. “You are…here.”

“Yeah.” He stepped closer towards them. “Good morning, Dr. Marshall.”

“Good morning, son.” Marshall ruffled the little boy’s hair. “How are you?”

“I’m fine.”

“That’s good to hear.”

Margaret’s approached them.

“Breakfast is ready.”

“Oh, thank you, Margaret. We will be there in a second.”

“Let’s go, David.” Margaret said.

“Okay.” David followed the woman to the dining room.

“Since you are here, will you join us for breakfast?” She asked Marshall when her son and his nanny were already out of sight.

“You know, there is only one breakfast I’m craving for,” He ran the tip of his tongue over his li-ps, eyeing her, seductively.

“Is that so?” She blus-hed.

“Let’s do a quickie.” He suggested.

“What? No fuc-k ing way.” She scrunched up her face in disgust. “We aren’t gonna fuc-k on my couch, Marshall. Let’s go to the dining room before David comes out here to look for us.”

“Ugh.”

“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday_”

“Whose birthday is it?” Tara asked, cutting Thelma off.

“Wait, isn’t it your birthday?” The young nurse asked.

“What? No.”

“Really? Why then did…” She stared down at the bags full of present that Abby asked her to collect from the delivery man and give to Tara. “Nevermind.”

“Who owns those gifts?” Tara asked, excitedly, sitting upright on the bed.

“You.”

“Me?”

Thelma nodded, dropping the bags on the table beside the hospital bed.

“Yeah. Dr. Abby asked me to give them to you. I even thought it was your birthday.” She said.

“Oh, my God!” Tara squealed and collected one of the bags to see what was in it. “Ahhh! She got me kit kat chocolate! I love chocolates.”

“Wow. That’s amazing. What is in the other bags?”

“I don’t know.”

“Well, check them.”

Tara did as Thelma suggested. It’s not like she waited to hear her opinion because she would have still checked every bag regardless of what the nurse suggested.

“I can’t believe Dr. Abby got me all of these things. I’m so happy.” She giggled, opening another bag. Then another and another until there was no other bag left to open.

Abigail got the teenage girl a lot of goodies. Like; chocolates, pringles, chicken nugget, and so many more. However, everything she got were edible.

“I love Dr. Abby!”

Thelma smiled. “And I can see that she loves you too. Enjoy yourself then.”

“Yeah. Thank you.”

There was a knock on the door just when Thelma was about to turn around.

The door opened and a nurse peeked her head throu-gh.

“Ward 302, Tara, right?” She asked.

“Yes, that’s me.” Tara nodded her head.

“Dr. Abby sent this to you,” She entered the office and handed Tara a bouquet full of red roses.

“Wow.” Tara exclaimed and collected the bouquet, taking off the nylon that was worn over it. She sniffed the roses and a wide grin appeared on her face.

She can’t remember the last time she saw beautiful roses like this.

“Why is Dr. Abby doing all of this?” Thelma couldn’t help but to ask.

The nurse who had given Tara the bouquet shrugged her shoulders.

“She must have her reasons, I guess.” She left the ward afterward.

Thelma stood there for a second and watched as Tara sniffed the roses once again and then dropped them on the table beside her bed before she started eating the chocolates.

“Do you want some, Nurse Thelma?” She asked when she noticed the young lady still standing there, staring at her.

“No, dear. Thank you.” Thelma forced a smile to her face and then left the ward, leaving Tara all by herself to enjoy the things her favorite doctor bought for her.

“Oh, shit. What are you doing here?” He gro-aned, stepping away from the door.

“Is that the best way to welcome your best friend?” Richa-rd queried, giving his friend a pointed look as he entered the house and shut the door behind them.

“Today is my day-off and I need a fuc-k ing quiet time.”

“Are you indirectly calling me a noise maker?”

“Well, you know yourself.” Robert rolled his eyes and went to sit down.

“What are you doing? Watching adult film while mastur_” Robert grabbed the throw pillow beside him and threw it at his friend. Richa-rd wasn’t quick enough to duck so the pillow hit him right on the face. “Ouch, that freaking hurts!”

“If that hurts, I wonder what will happen if I throw you this fuc-k ing table.” He hissed.

“You are so aggressive,” Richa-rd collected the throw pillow on the floor and went to sit down beside Robert. “Have you called your sister?”

“No. Why do you ask?”

“She called me this morning.”

Robert’s eyes wide-ned. “She did?”

“Yes. She said she tried your number but it was connecting. Did you block her number?”

“I did.”

“Really, Robert? Why will you do that?”

“Isn’t it obvious that I don’t want to speak to her?” He scoffed.

“Stop being like this, Robert. She is sorry about what happened. I think it’s time you grow up and forget about the past, bruh.”

“Are you here to lecture me? If yes, get the hell out of my house.”

“Should I get her this cookies?” Abigail asked, showing Emma the picture on her phone.

“I think you’ve gotten her enough, Abby.”

“I want to make her happy,” She pouted. “I’m going to place the order and tell Thelma to collect it from the delivery man and give it to_”

Emma snatched the phone out of Abby’s hand and kept it aside.

“You are going to give this child stomach ache, Abigail. You’ve gotten her enough goodies. You even got her flowers. When have you ever given me flowers?”

Abby grinned, “Are you…jealous?”

“Of course not.” Emma huffed.

“Yes, you are!” She chuckled.

“I’m not!”

“You are.”

“I’m…not.” She rolled her eyes. “But seriously, I think you’ve done enough already.”

“Okay. If you say so.” Abby stood up to her feet. “What’s the time?”

“4:50 Pm.” Emma answered, giving Abby back her phone.

“I should go and start getting ready for the dinner night.”

“Hmm, I wonder who this lucky guy is.”
