Khloe’s POV

I’m so nervous right now! I have everything ready for Aubrey’s birthday but I don’t know why I feel so scared to call her over.

“Take a de-eper breath Khloe! She’s just the Aubrey in your cla-ss and one of your friends, not a celebrity so there’s nothing to be scared of” my subconscious a-ssured

Yes! There’s absolutely nothing to be scared of. I took out my phone and dialed her number immediately. It rang to the end but she didn’t answer the call, I called her again but it was the same thing. I continued trying it like that until I got tired. She must be really mad at me!

Just when I was about drifting off to sleep, my phone rang jolting me up. I checked the caller and discovered it was Aubrey. Oh… Aubrey!

“Where did you put your phone Aubrey? I’ve been calling for ages!” I said once I picked the call

“I’m sorry Khloe, I wasn’t with the phone. You know today is my birthday right? I went out with my mom to celebrate it. Ah! I got your message too, thank you. I’ve been too busy to call you back”

“It’s okay. Are you busy right now?”

“Not really. Why?”

“Well, I was thinking if you will be chanced to meet me somewhere”

“Ohh…. Alright, text me the address’

“Sure! Thank you!” I said and hung up

I quickly texted the address of where I was to her. Yes! She’s going to be here soon!

Minutes later

“That was quick! Did you fly a jet here?”

“Of course not! So why did you ask me to meet you here?”

“Ta-da!” I exclaimed and moved from her front

Natalie and some of my friends sang a birthday song for her and I also joined them.

“Wow! Khloe…”

“Don’t say anything Aubrey, just enjoy today okay?”

“Thank you Khloe”

“It’s nothing. Time to cut the cake” I said pulling her to where thee cake was

“Thank you Khloe, Natalie. I don’t know how to thank you guys for making my day”

“We’re glad we could do something. How is the preparation for prom night going?” Natalie asked

“Well, it’s coming up well”

“Alright, see you in school tomorrow then” I said standing up with Natalie

“Bye!” she waved at us and left

Ah! At last, I feel relieved. It’s like a heavy burden has been lifted off my shoulders

Prom Night

Aubrey’s POV

It’s prom night and I’m so nervous right now. I don’t know what is going to happen today but I know it’s going to determine a lot of things in my life.

“You don’t have to be like this because of prom! Don’t bother yourself because of what anyone thinks about you. Just remember I’m here for you, okay?” Sam said trying to calm me down

I had actually slept at her house the previous night because of how nervous I was and now, we’re both dressed for prom, only that we would be going to different schools.

“Alright” I said with a little smile

I got into my car and waved at her before driving to school. Now that I think about it, I don’t have a date for this prom night. Well, let’s see how it goes!

“Wow! This is the latest car in town and I don’t think Liam and his friends can afford it so who is it?” a student said when they saw my car drive in
“Even if they could afford it, they’re definitely not the one so who could it be?”
“Could it be Min Seok?” another student said with a gasp
“It isn’t Min Seok either, I saw him in cla-ss already”

I took in a de-eper breath before stepping down from the car. Here goes nothing! I already wrapped my expensive clothes with a blanket and I wore facial mask that made me look like the real Aubrey in school. When it’s time, I will take of the mask in the presence of everyone.

I went into the restroom, disposed the blanket and adjusted my dress.

“Aubrey” I heard someone call behind me immediately I left the restroom

“Min Seok” I also called when I turned back and discovered it was him

“Wow! You’re looking really pretty today, what’s the secret? Besides, the gown you’re wearing looks really expensive for an average girl like you. I don’t mean to sound offensive though”

“It’s okay” I said with a small smile

“Aubrey!” Liam called walking towards us

“Hi” I replied with a smile and I noticed his mood brightened up and he walked fas-ter towards me

“You’re no longer mad at me right?” he asked with a hopeful smile

“I told you before, I have nothing against you”

“Thank you Aubrey. You’re automatically my date then, let’s go” he said holding my hand but I stopped him when he was about leaving with me

“It seems like you are mixing things up. I’ve truly forgiven you but there’s nothing between us anymore, just forget about me and move on. Let’s go Min Seok” I held his hand and walked past Liam

Liam’s POV

What just happened? Did Aubrey just choose Min Seok over me? Like seriously? My life is completely ruined

I looked around to make sure no one saw what happened but then I was met with a pair of dark brown eyes staring directly at me with tears forming in her eyes. Don’t tell me Khloe saw what just happened. Shit!

I wanted calling out to her but then she ran off before I could even open my mouth. Whatever, that’s not important now!

I left there and went to the hall where the party will be taking place. Looks like they started already!

Aubrey’s POV

“We both don’t have dates for prom, do you think we should be each other’s date then?” Min Seok asked making me stop walking for a while.

“Uhhm….. Sure! If that’s okay with you” I said with an awkward smile

“Aubrey!!” I heard Khloe and Natalie call running to us

“H..hi guys!” I stuttered nervously

“Wow! Khloe, isn’t this the dress we saw at the mall that you couldn’t afford because it was to expensive?” Natalie asked turning to Khloe making Khloe look up. Seems like Khloe looks somehow gloomy

“You’re right! Where did you get this Aubrey?” she asked making me go speechless for a while

“Uhhm…. Someone gave it to me as a gift for my birthday” I managed to say something

“Really? Why would someone give you something so expensive as a birthday gift?” Natalie asked staring keenly at the dress

“Let’s just forget it. The party is starting already” Khloe said making me sigh in relief

We walked to the hall and sat down there. Natalie and Khloe also didn’t have dates, maybe I shouldn’t have said yes to Min Seok. It’s too late now though! Let me just enjoy the party for now until it’s time to reveal myself.
