Aubrey’s POV

The party went on and everyone danced with their partners when it was time but I just sat down and watched on.

The looks the students are giving me is creepy enough to make me scared. They’re starting at me like I stole the dress because they know how expensive it is.

What is going to be Min Seok’s reaction when he finds out I fooled him until now? Sam already said he won’t get married to me anymore. Sighs

“I’m going to be inviting someone special to come on stage now, she has something to tell you all” the principal announced and I felt goosebumps on my skin since I knew he was referring to me

I withdrew my hand from Min Seok and slowly stood up heading for the podium.

“Good evening everyone” I greeted nervously

“There’s a secret about me that I want to reveal to everyone present in this hall tonight. To my friends and everyone that trusted me, I want to say I’m truly sorry. I didn’t mean to fool you guys, I just don’t like attention and I do hope you find it in your heart to forgive me” I concluded and took in a de-eper breath before slowly taking off the mask

Light gasps could be heard from the students when I finished taking off the mask and when I raised my head up, some people collap-sed while some watched on in amusement.

“Isn’t she the K-Pop artist that just revealed her identity yesterday? How come she’s the Aubrey in our school?” a student said bewildered

“I’m done for! I’ve treated her badly ever since she came to this school and I was among the two students that wanted to stri-p her at Min Ju’s command. I think I should be digging my grave already” a junior student sobbed making me chuckle lightly. I wonder what she’s doing here though

I walked down from the podium and went back to where I sat but I met Min Seok’s eyes full of hurt.

“Byeol? You were Byeol all along but you kept it from me? I thought you said we were friends. I even told you recently that I wanted to get married to Byeol but you still didn’t reveal your identity. What did I do to deserve this?”

“It’s not what you think Min Seok, I didn’t want attention. I’ve always liked a quiet life, I don’t want to be treated like a god in school. I’m really sorry for hiding it from you”

“You don’t have to be sorry, let’s just end it here” he said walking away but I quickly went to his front

“Please Min Seok, I’m really sorry. I promise not to hide anything from you again”

“I don’t care. We’re no longer friends so don’t come close to me ever again” he warned sternly before finally leaving and I just stared at the floor with tears rolling down my cheek

“Aubrey?” Khloe called from behind

“Are you going to leave too?” I asked tearily but she pulled me into a hug instead

“It’s going to be fine” she said patting my back

When I calmed down, she took me to one of the empty cla-ssrooms and made me sat there

“I’ve once betrayed your trust too so I guess we should call it even. Although, I didn’t really betray you but it’s fine. You’re still my best friend. Besides, who wouldn’t want to be friends with one of the biggest celebrities in the world?” she asked teasingly

“Thanks Khloe”

“You’re not welcome” I heard Natalie’s voice

“I’m really really mad at you, not just really mad but extremely mad at you. How could you hide something as huge as this from the people you call your friend?”

“I’m sorry. You know I’m your little baby” I said with pouted li-ps making a puppy face at the same time

“That won’t work on me, I’m not Min Seok or Liam” she said waving me off making I and Khloe giggle

“Uhhm…. Aubrey, can I talk to you for a while?” Liam asked coming in

“And here comes your prince charming” Natalie whispered to me

“Prince my foot” I muttered only to my hearing

“I’m busy with my friends, maybe some other time”

“Please, I won’t take much of your time”

“Fine! You have just ten minutes” I said and walked ahead of him

“What is it you want to say?” I asked turning to him when I was sure we were alone

“I…. I uhhm.clears throat Why did you hide your identity from us? Even if you hid it from everyone, was it supposed to be the same with me when you claim to love me?” he asked making me scoff

“Is that what you want to say? If that’s it, then I better leave. I wanted to tell you about it countless times but I’m grateful I didn’t tell you.

Do you know how much I trusted you only to be betrayed in the end?”

“I didn’t betray you Aubrey, I really fell in love with you along the line”

“You wouldn’t have fallen in love with me if it wasn’t for the bet. The sole reason why you came to me at first was because you wanted to win the bet so whether you fell in love with me or not is none of my concern”

“But I’m really sorry Aubrey, let’s call it even. I placed a bet on you and you also hid something important from me. Let’s start all over, please”

“No, we’re not starting over. Let’s end things right here and forget about ever meeting each other” I said and turned to leave but he held me back and went down on his two knees

“I’m sorry Aubrey, please don’t leave me. I won’t survive it. I really do love you, just give me another chance please”

“I’m sorry Liam but I’m no longer interested. If you had succeeded in having se-x with me that night, I’m sure you would have been like this to your friends “I won the bet” so I’m really grateful Khloe stopped us because the bet was still on during that period”

“It was on but I was no longer with them”

“What if they succeeded in sleeping with me? Daniel has tried it before right? And Jayden also tried on his birthday. I can’t be with you anymore, just please forget about me”

Taking one last glance at him, I withdrew my hand and started running to nowhere in particular with tears dropping down my cheeks like rainfall.

Min Ju’s POV

Aubrey? The Aubrey Connor in my school is the same K-Pop idol that revealed her identity yesterday? I’m done for!

Why is everything falling apart for me? First, Liam’s dad said I can’t marry his son anymore because I committed murder.

I wanted to take revenge on Khloe for what she did but some stupid men appeared out of nowhere and saved her.

And now, Aubrey is a K-Pop idol that is ten times richer than I am. With just a snap of her fingers, I can be sent to jail.

I sat on a chair and sighed dejectedly. Coming to America was a bad idea, I shouldn’t have listened to dad this time.

First thing tomorrow morning, I’m going to take the next available flight back to South Korea because Dad is using the jet presently.

I’ve missed home, I’ve missed my friends and I’ve missed mom too. I just hope Aubrey doesn’t punish me.

She won’t even be able to because I’ll be leaving early in the morning tomorrow. I should just go home already, this prom isn’t for me.
