Aubrey’s POV

I stared at my phone for the hundredth time. Okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit but still I’ve been checking my phone since waiting for Liam’s call but none is coming forth.

Is he expecting me to call him? It’s his fault so why should he expect me to call?

I sighed tiredly and dropped my phone. I wasn’t even able to concentrate when I was practicing. I’m sure Sam would have cautioned me if she was here.

As I was about opening the door of my room, a call came into my phone and thinking it was Liam, I ran to my bed and sprained my ankle in the process.

I didn’t care about it as at that moment. Instead, I ran to the bed and picked up my phone. When I checked the caller, I decided it was Sophie and I became disappointed.

That was when the pain hit me ha-rd and I remembered I sprained my ankle. I dropped the phone, ignoring the call and focused on my ankle instead.

After the call ended the first time, it came in again and I figured I needed to pick it so my sister won’t be worried.

“Hello pumpkin, where did you put your phone?” my sister said into the phone

“I didn’t know it was ringing” I said and bite my li-ps. I’ve never lied to my sister but I’m doing it for the first time because of Liam

“Are you okay Aubrey?” Sophie asked concerned

“I’m okay” I said trying to sound normal

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, I’m fine. I just miss everyone of you” I said trying to change the topic

“That’s part of the reason why I called you. I and Jason will be coming home next week”

“Really?!!!!”

“Of course”

“Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!” I screamed loudly “I just hope you’re not joking” I said after screaming

“Why will I joke with something like this?”

“Better. Just make sure you buy new designers for me and lots of food”

“Foodie. I have to go now. Bye”

“I love you” I said and ended the call

“Arrgh!!!!!” I screamed when the pain hit me sharply

I guess I will have to limp to school tomorrow

Next day

I woke up and felt a sharp pain on my ankle and it made me remember how I hit it against the bed yesterday.

I limped to the bathroom and took my bath before preparing to go to school. If Sam was here, she would have applied something on it but I don’t know anything about that and now my ankle has swollen.

I managed to walk to the bus stop and took a taxi to school.

“What happened to you Aubrey?” Natalie asked when she saw me

“Errm…. I hit my leg against the bed last night”

“Ohh… Sorry. What did you apply on the leg?” Khloe asked

“Nothing”

“No wonder why the leg is swollen. Let’s go to the school clinic” Natalie suggested

“No… No way, I don’t want to”

“But why? Aren’t you feeling pains?” Khloe asked confused

“I’m feeling pains but I don’t want to go to the clinic”

“Are you scared? Don’t worry, you won’t be given injection”

“Let her be. Good morning girls” Liam said from behind us

I turned to look at him and he was looking extremely hot with two of his bu-ttons open. Focus Aubrey! Remember he put you in this condition.

“Thank goodness you’re here. Please talk some senses into Aubrey before her ankle gets worse. Let’s go Khloe” Natalie said and left with Khloe leaving me alone with Liam

“Why don’t you want to go to the clinic?” Liam asked calmly

I kept quiet pretending not to hear what he said and tried walking away.

“What exactly is wrong with you Aubrey? You’ve been behaving strange since yesterday and you couldn’t even call to apologise for your behaviour” he said making me snap my head to him

I should apologise? For what exactly? I took my eyes back to the floor, there’s no point saying anything to him.

“It’s fine if you don’t want to talk to me. Let’s go to the clinic to treat your leg”

“I don’t want to” I said withdrawing my hand from his

“Really?”

“Yes, and stop pretending like you care” I said with an eyeroll

“Of course I care. I wouldn’t be here if I don’t care”

“Well… I don’t want you here so you can leave”

“I should leave?”

“Yeah”

“Okay then” he said and left

I guess I have to limp to cla-ss. I limped for about twenty minutes before I finally got to cla-ss.

“You didn’t get your ankle treated?” Khloe asked when I got to cla-ss

“Yes, I will treat it at home”

“Why didn’t you treat it at home yesterday?”

“I… Uhhm… Nothing, but I’ll treat it today”

“Okay. I don’t know why you’re acting stubborn today” Khloe said with an eyeroll

We had about four cla-sses before it was time for lunch. So I’m going to limp again? I kept my books and stood up ready to leave the cla-ss with Khloe and Natalie.

“So you’re going to limp again?” Natalie asked staring at me

“Yeah, it’s not like I have a choice”

“You have a choice. You can go to the clinic to get it treated” Khloe responded

“I will still have to limp to the clinic right? Or will you carry me?” I asked with raised brows staring from Khloe to Natalie

“Let’s just go already” Khloe said already leaving

I shook my head and started limping behind them but I hadn’t gone far when I felt myself floating.

Huh? What’s going on? I looked at the ground and tilted my head backward a little and that was when I saw Liam was the one carrying me. What?!!!

“Oh my God! I knew it will come to this”

“Are they a thing now?”
“I wish Liam was carrying me instead”

I heard different things from different angles as Liam carried me bridal style to the cafeteria.

Does Liam want to get me killed? So all the students in school now know we’re dating? I’m finally done for!

Jayden’s POV

I don’t un-derstand Liam anymore. How could he have fallen in love with Aubrey so easily? Did Aubrey give him a love portion to drink?

Either way, I’m not backing out of the bet and that’s final.

I heard noises from the students and when I moved closer to them, I discovered it was Liam carrying Aubrey bridal style.

So their relationship is no longer a secret? Whatever! I trust Daniel not to back out of the bet and as long as the bet is still on, no relationship can work out between Aubrey and Liam.
