Francis let out a sigh disturbing Nicholas from having his sleep.

“What is it! You’ve been sighing ever since you came in and instead of talking you ignore me” Nicholas said to Francis who gave him an angry look before looking away.

“Did you have a fight with Joanna? A lovers tiff?” Nicholas prompted again.

“Even if you did you should go back to apologise, girls always wait for the boys to do the apology” Nicholas added when Francis still didn’t say a thing.

“I would have been glad if it had been a lovers tiff but it isn’t” Francis finally spoke looking sad.

“Tell me about it?” Nicholas urge which Francis did even showing him the pictures that was sent to him.

“I find this ha-rd to believe, Joanna isn’t that type of girl, don’t tell me you believe it too” Nicholas spoke up after a while.

“To be sincere, I don’t know what to believe. I really want to believe her but her lies, her lies is what is making me doubt her” Francis replied feeling very hurt.

“You fool! Instead of eating yourself up like this, you should be out there helping your girlfriend or trying to find out the truth. I don’t know about you but what I do know is that Joanna needs you now more than ever” Nicholas told him making him see sense a little.

He had been furious about her lies that he didn’t think about how she felt. He pulled out his phone and was about calling her when Alice barge into the room.

“Francis, you are such a jerk!” Alice yelled as she made her way to where they sat.

“What’s going on?” Nicholas asked.

“How could you doubt her? How could you not trust her. Well watch this video and tell me if you aren’t a jerk!” Alice said showing him the footage while Pierce walk in too.

“Joanna left the club just when the stranger arrived and it’s impossible for her to have slept with him and also came back home at the time she did last night. So she’s innocent” Alice said.

“She is” Francis murmured feeling like the Jerk Alice referred him to.

“You’ve got a lot of begging to do” Pierce said as he came to seat beside them.

“Where’s Joanna?” Francis asked and when they told him where she was, he quickly left the room.

“Hope Joanna forgives you! ” Alice yelled after him.

“What about Mirabel? Where is she?” Alice asked Pierce.

“Outside, she said she would wait there and……” Pierce stop when Nicholas also left the room in a rush.

He got outside and found Mirabel pacing around, she didn’t notice him there at first but when she did.

She rolled her eyes at him and turn to leave but he held her back.

“We’ve got to talk” he said.

“About what exactly? If you are going to tell me about Jessica and you it’s best that you…..”

“This isn’t about Jessica but about us” Nicholas said cutting her off.

“Us? There’s no us. Yes I was angry at you at first and that’s only because of what Jessica said. I felt back then that what kind of secret would she know about you that I, the girl you claim to love didn’t know. I expected you to tell me about it but after the karaoke night, you ignored me and after wards came to Linda party with Jessica” Mirabel said feeling very hurt.

“Am sorry, I just didn’t know how to tell you but am ready to do it….”

“Save it Nicholas, I don’t want to hear it. I expected you to trust me but you failed in doing so” she added before sauntering off leaving him starring after her.

∆ CLUB ∆

Joanna was about giving up hope when she saw the guy coming in and immediately she went to him, taking hold of his hand.

“You and I have got to talk” she said gripping his hand with her powerful fist.

“Ouch! Let me go” he yelled when they got outside.

“I watched the footage and saw that while I left the club, you arrived a while later. So tell me how on earth you and I ended up sleeping together” Joanna demanded.

“Look! I don’t know anymore but what I do know is that you are the one I slept with. Maybe you have a twin or someone was impersonating you but what I do know is that the girl had your face” He said.

“Think about it , they might have been a difference if I was being impersonated, that little difference will help a lot” she said while he did.

“Well, the girl is a little bit shorter than you and her grip wasn’t that ha-rd as yours did” he said holding his wrist which was still hurting.

“And lastly, she had a mole on her arm” he said pushing up her sleeves which showed no mole at all.

“Then my girlfriend isn’t the one you slept with last night” Francis said as he move towards them.

“She isn’t. Well i hope you find the person who played this trick on you, let’s never meet again” he said going back into the club leaving Joanna and Francis alone.

“Let me take you home” Francis offered and at first he thought she would refuse but when she followed him to his car, he felt relieved.

While he drove, he kept starring at Joanna who sat still starring out throu-ghthe wind screen.

When he stop in front of her parents home and when she was about to leave, he took hold of her hand.

“We need to talk” he said.

“I feel tired Francis, let’s talk some other time” she said wanting to pull her hand out of his but he pulled her into his arms, tightening his arms around her.

“Am sorry. I was a fool for not listening to you, I should have been there for you but I let you down ” he muttered and when she didn’t say a thing, he pulled back to stare at her.

“To be sincere Francis, am not angry at you neither am I angry at your reaction earlier but am very very hurt and disappointed ” she said moving away from him.

“All I wanted was for you to trust me but you didn’t which got me thinking that if something like this is to happen again, you will certainly react the same way”

“No,I won’t. I was stupid and blinded by the evidence that I didn’t think of your innocence” he said cupping her cheeks while forcing her to stare at him.

“Am sorry my love” he added resting his forehead on hers while tears slid from her eyes.

He bent wanting to get her forgiveness with his kis-s but she turned from him.

“I want to be alone Francis, Goodnight” she said pulling away from him and before he could stop her, she got out of his car and straight into the house while Francis cursed himself severally for being a jerk.
