∆ STILL AT THE PARTY ∆

Jocelyn stood at the bar counter enjoying her drink when she felt someone eyes on her and once again she let out a sigh.

It might probably be another admirer who finds her gorgeous, it’s starting to become sickening for her and some times, she even finds herself wondering why God gave her a pretty face.

She decided to ignore whoever was starring but when he didn’t take his eyes off of her, she turned only to see the guy from the other day.

The one who had been starring at her at the bus station, he wasn’t looking at her cause he was talking with someone but that didn’t stop Jocelyn from going to him.

“Am sure I did told you the other day that it’s bad manners starring at someone” she said.

“Sorry?” Kylie asked stupefied.

“You’ve been starring at me for a while now and I seriously don’t like it. Am quite sure you came to this party just to see me” Jocelyn said.

“I think this joke has gone far enough! Just who do you think you are, prima Donna? You might be used to getting attention from a lot of guys but let me tell you now that am not part of them. I certainly don’t like the barbie face type” Kylie said making Jocelyn feel embarra-ssed.

She’s been used to people starring at her and they’ve been time she’s spoken to one or two of them and their reply was to flatter her more about her beauty but he’s the first to speak to her in this manner.

“Look, am not starring at you and I wasn’t doing that during that day at the bus station and whether you believe it or not am here cause I got invited and…..”

“Kylie, have you seen Alice” Joanna asked as she came to them.

“Do you know him, Joanna?” Jocelyn asked.

“Of course, he’s my cousin, Alice brother” Joanna said missing the look which pa-ssed between Jocelyn and Kylie.

“You were saying some thing about Alice?” Kylie asked.

“Yes, I can’t find her and….” Joanna stopped talking when she felt Francis arms around her.

“Come dance with me” he urge pulling Joanna off while leaving Kylie and Jocelyn alone.

“Excuse me” Kylie said walking off while Jocelyn silently watch him go.

Joanna and Francis along with some other people stood on the dance floor dancing to the slow music and enjoying the evening when a girl ran into the room.

“Someone has fallen into the pool ” the girl yelled alerting everyone.

“Who?” Someone asked amongst the crowd.

“Alice, Alice fell into it” The girl said and on hearing that Joanna took to her heels while Francis and the others followed.

On the other hand Linda stood starring at Alice as she fought for breath in the water and she was still watching when she heard someone footsteps and not wanting to be caught, she began to yell.

“Help me! She’s fallen into the pool” she said to Pierce who had shown up and not even pausing to pull off his shoes, he jumped into the pool and carried out the unconscious Alice.

Pierce had her in his arms and was calling out her name when the others arrived.

” Wake up, Alice! ” The w-et Pierce kept calling and when she failed to respond, he began to perform CPR on her.

He move to her li-ps wanting to kis-s it but Joanna yelled at him.

“Don’t! Don’t kis-s her” Joanna said.

“It’s a matter of life and death Joanna, if I don’t breathe air into her then there’s probability that she’s going to die ” Pierce said and before they could stop him, He kis-sed Alice.

On seeing the shock look on Joanna face, Francis finally understood the situation.

“Is this what I think it is?” Francis asked her and she turn to him, nodding slowly.

“Pierce just gave Alice her first kis-s” Joanna said before turning back to the scene in front of her.

Luckily for them, Alice cough out water showing everyone that she’s still alive and Pierce who had been the one who save her let out a relieved sigh.

“Do you have somewhere she can rest in for a while?” Pierce asked Linda who nodded leading them to one of the spare rooms.

Alice woke up a while later only to see Joanna and Kylie in the room.

“Are you okay? ” Joanna and Kylie asked at the same time and she nodded.

“You dummy! How could you jump into the pool knowing you can’t swim, did you know you gave me a terrible fright!” Kylie said which got her smiling.

“Am fine now and the pool, I….I don’t remember why I went there?” Alice said having lost a bit of her memory.

“Really? You don’t remember how you fell in?” Kylie asked and she nodded.

“The last thing I remember was being with Joanna and Mirabel in the rest room” Alice said trying to remember the missing puzzle but nothing seem to be coming.

“Let’s not force it and besides there is still some thing else we have to talk about” Joanna said starring at Kylie who gave a nod.

“What’s it?” Alice asked slowly.

“Pierce was the one who got into the pool to save you and he….he gave you your first kis-s while trying to resuscitate you” Joanna replied.

“He did what! I can’t believe it….my first kis-s had to be shared with him” Alice said touching her li-ps slowly.

“You could have died and he was there to help you, you should be grateful more than anything” Kylie said to her.

“I should and I will surely thank him for saving me but then my kis-s…. He’s a guy who thinks the worse of me ” Alice said remembering the hurtful things he had said to her during the party.

“Don’t worry as long as you don’t share your second and third kis-s with him, all will be well” Joanna said coming to seat beside her on the bed.

“You are right! If I avoid Pierce and get to find the guy I truly want to spend the rest of my life with then I can get to have my kis-s with him instead” Alice said with hope while she vowed within to find the guy she wants to spend the rest of her life with.
