” So she wants you to meet her family ? Adonis asked seriously when they stopped their teasing.

” Yeah and I am nervous ” i said and Pierre laughed.

” Ah , I didn’t think I will leave to see the day Leonardo Delgado gets nervous about something ” He said munching chocolate bars .

” I think I am regretting asking your help already because you guys have laughed at me about it ” I said and Adonis chuckled.

” I think first of all you need to dress decent considering the fact that you are a very attractive man , Wearing anything Rugged will give the impression that you are a bad boy ” Adonis adviced.

” Exactly and if they see you as a fvck boy , you are finished ” Pierre said in horror.

” I am a decent young man ” I said and they laughed.

” Agreed but your looks says the opposite ,a fine guy like you will make people think you are a Player ” Pierre said and I gave a nod .

” I’ll just wear formals then . Do you think I should get them gifts ? I don’t even know what I am to expect ” I said rubbing my forehead.

” Buying gifts for them isn’t a bad idea but don’t buy jewelries ,it wouldn’t look nice . They might think you are trying to buy them with money which will not give a good impression . Just be you ” he said and I gave a nod .

” This whole fake dating thing is starting to stress me out ” I muttered under my breath and they laughed.

” At least you are no longer following your boring routine of work and more work ” Pierre said and Adonis gave a nod in agreement .

After the call ,I decided to get some work done before calling it a night .

The next morning I arrived at the office early to clear out everything for the day .

” Cancel my conference meeting with the clients from Australia ,i will be going out this evening ” I said and noticed he was still rooted in his place.

” Am I speaking gibberish ? I asked in confusion.

” Sir ,you want me to cancel your appointment ? He asked.

” Why does that sound so suprising to you? I asked as I turned my head towards his direction.

” No nothing sir ,did you wake up in the right direction ?He asked and I raised my eyebrows.

” Are you saying I’m mad ? I asked and he shook his head.

” No sir I am just concerned about my boss. You never cancel any of your meetings . Did miss lerato pour hot coffee on you today ? He asked and I glared at him .

” Forget I asked that ,I will just go ahead and do as you have asked me to ” he said and escaped.

Why am I surrounded with mad people ? I wondered as I strolled towards my office .

My phone rang during lunch and it was my older sister Scarlett.

” Hey sis ” i said and she glared daggers at me .

” How dare you leonie tunes ” she asked and I groaned in frustration.

” Scar stop calling me that it’s embarrassing ” I said and heard her husband’s Laughter in the background.

” When were you going to tell me you’re bringing your girlfriend to Mom’s birthday party . When did you even get a girlfriend I am confused ” she said in one go .

” What do you mean by when did I get a girlfriend ? I am old enough to have one ” I said immediately.

” Oh please ,You know what I am driving at ” she said and I sighed .

” Imani and I wanted to keep things low for a while ,I’m sorry ” I apologized.

” Well it’s okay, I’m excited at least you are moving on from Layla and her memories ” she said and my chest spread with hurt .

” I am fine , besides I’m meeting up with her family tonight , The whole media interferance had her Dad angry . “I explained.

” The media can be overwhelming sometimes , digging old different news to make headlights ” she said shaking her head .

” Don’t push things too much , just be yourself Leon ” she said and I gave a nod .

” Thanks sis ” I said and she smiled.

After the call With Scarlett , I heard the door of my office open and there she was clad in a Royal pink dress and white heels .

” Hey ” she muttered under her breath, I could see that she was pretty nervous.

” I think I should give you a heads up ,before you meet my family tonight” she explained and I gestured towards my sit .

On thing I noticed about her which stood out ,was the fact that she rarely has make up on ,but still looks so beautiful.

She seem to notice me staring and blushed shyly.

” Is there something on my face ? She asked and I chuckled.

” You are beautiful ,that’s the reason I am staring at you ” I said and her jaws literally dropped.

She swallowed down nothing and I laughed at the cute expression on her face .

” We. ..hrrrr” she Cleared her throat to release the tension that ate her up .

I bit my lower lip to control my laughter as she stared at her fingers.

” Don’t you think you should be looking at me while you tell me what you want to say ” i asked staring at her on purpose and she opened and closed her mouth like a fish .

” So I have two older siblings ….” She trailed and kept staring down due to my gaze and for some odd reason I was enjoying every bit of it .

I know what my eyes do to women and watching Imani react to my gaze is interesting.

Her hands got sweaty and I handed her the bottle of water on my desk .

” You will need that ” I said and she took it from me .

Opened it and as she raised it to her lips I stared at her soft lips.

She choked immediately and splash of water dropped on her chest making her wet .

” I’m sorry ” she said coughing.

” It’s okay ” I whispered softly and decided to stop .

She started talking about everyone in her family and I liked how she used yet hands to explain.

Halfway through and I wasn’t even listening,just staring at her striking features.

She left my office and I chuckled softly.

Arriving at my parents house early to prepare for Leonardo’s arrival that evening.

Mom and Zuri were in the kitchen already and I gasped when I noticed Avy and Tega helping out .

” Wait what are you girls doing here ? I asked in horror and Tega raised her eyebrows.

” Oh baby girl Zuri invited us ,you sneaky little fox ” She said pointing her fingers at me .

” Ashewo ” Avy said in her normal teasing mode and mom smacked her head .

” Ouch Aunt ” She whinned.

” Children of nowadays, why will you call your fellow girl Ashewo, ehn ? She snapped and Avy opened and closed her mouth .

Tega and I held our laughter in as Avyrll tried to get herself out of the mess she put herself in .

” Ashewo means prostitute, why would you call her that ,do you even go to church ? Mom asked and Avy looked at us trying to ask for help .

African mothers and giving long lectures .

Tega and I stared at Avyrll as she tried to explain.

” I’m sorry Aunt i didn’t mean it like Ashewo …for Real …” She said and I rubbed my arms to control my laughter as mom raised her eyebrows.

” So there is now a fake Ashewo and Real Ashewo ni ? She asked and Zuri burst out laughing.

” Why are you laughing ? Have you been hearing them use this term on each other ? She asked Zuri .

” Me ? No no mom ” she denied immediately.

” All of you will join me to fellowship tommorow, you all need to stop this worldly life ” she said and Just like that the lecture of one hour began .

” What kind of dishes does your boyfriend like ? Zuri asked.

” Oh please, he is coming to an African home, if Imani has not been cooking our delicacies for him then it’s their business ”

” I’m making a mix of South African and Nigerian dishes ” mom said and my jaws literally dropped.

Why did I forget to warn mr Delgado.

Omari and his wife arrived with their daughter .

” Hey Nala ” I greeted her as we exchanged cheek kisses and hugs .

” I heard your boyfriend is coming over tonight ? What a good news ” she gushed excitedly.

” Yeah I guess papa and om are planning to intimidate him or something ” I said and she rolled her eyes.

” Oh please, I will handle Omari I’m sure he can’t do sh!t ” She said and I chuckled.

” Hey mom in-law” she said excitedly as she walked into the kitchen.

Nala and her nice personality, sometimes I fell Omari is too arrogant for such a sweet soul but love happens .

Zuri’s husband could not meet up as usual, talk about being stuck at work .

After preparation I changed into a sky blue coloured dress and white comfortable slippers .

Pulled my hair in a messy bun, my hands were Sweaty the entire time because I don’t know how this evening is going to go .

What if we get bursted ,What if Dad and om ends up ruining things for the both of us ?

Few minutes after 8 and we heard his car drive in .

I gave him the address of my family house during the Akwared moment at his office.

I don’t understand why he was staring at me like that the entire time .

My heart was beating crazily and I was nervous.

His look did things to my body .

” He is late ” Dad said frowning.

” Pai be nice ” I pleaded and he looked away.

I walked towards the door as we heard it ring .

Immediately I opened the door ,he flashed me a polite smile.

White button down shirt and jean pants .

His white converse complemented his look and casual does look good on him .

” Goodevning mi Reina ” he said softly as he bent towards my neck .

My eyes moved to his silk hair and pink lips.

He kissed the corner of my lips and my heart froze immediately from the shock .

” You need to act normal if you want to make this believable ” he whispered as he smiled .

” Stop the romance and let my potential son in-law in Imani ” mom said from behind us and I blushed as he chuckled at my expense .

” Good evening ma, good evening sir ” he said handing over the gift package to Zuri .

” He looks so handsome in person ” Zuri whispered loud enough for him to hear .

” Leonardo Delgado, you can call me leon ” he introduced himself .

” My daughter’s Boss , I wonder why you would want to date an employee ”

” What are your intentions towards my princess ? Are you trying to use her ” Dad asked and my eyes widened in horror as I face palmed myself .
