” My daughter’s Boss , I wonder why you would want to date an employee “Her Father said staring at me with his intimidating eyes and I have never felt this small in my life .

” What are your intentions towards my princess ? Are you trying to use her ” He Added and Her eyes widened in horror as she face palmed herself .

Another guy who looked very much like her father stared at me probably trying to find a fault or something.

” My intentions towards your daughter are pure Sir, I will never do anything to hurt her ” I said and he pinched his beards .

” That’s what you say untill you wake up one morning and realize you are of opposite class ,or that you are not compatible ” Mr lerato said and I cleared my throat a bit .

” Life is about taking risk sir , I am willing to try and see where this takes us ,your daughter is an amazing person ” I said as our eyes locked .

” Honey that’s enough let the poor guy breath first ,come this way …son ” her mom said excitedly and I don’t why but I felt comfortable in her presence immediately .

She ushered me towards the dinner table and I raised my eyebrows towards Imani when I noticed her fighting with her husband through her eyes .

” He is so fvcking hot babe …” The girl in low cut whispered to Imani but it was loud enough for me to here .

Imani blushed as she gave her the shhhhhhhh sign .

” Come this way ”

” Leave him alone Zuri I am supposed to usher him to his seat ” The mom said glaring at who I suppose happen to be imani’s elder sister .

” Mom you are being too possessive about this potential son in-law of yours will also be my brother in-law when it happens ” Zuri said and I froze .

Fvck , I am getting married and I had no idea.

I wondered and just joined her mom to sit down .

Imani gave me a pleading look as I tried to make myself feel comfortable.

The father just attacked me and now I am the potential son in-law ? Am I even safe ?

I wondered and pinched the bridge of my nose .

” Hey Leon, I’m Tega her Nigerian Bestie ” The one on low cut said smiling in my direction and I gave a nod .

” Nice to meet you Tega ” I said and the other one squiled.

” I always knew he had a Spanish accent, it’s so fvcking sexy ” Another squiled and got a jab on the head by Imani’s mum Making my jaws drop.

What a violent woman, is this how African mothers act ?

” Your mouth needs filter Averyl ! She scolded her immediately.

” Ma I just said he is sex…” She trailed and screamed as she pulled her by the ear and smiled in my direction .

I stared at the older lady’s big smiled her naughty eyes back to her hand squeezing Averyl’s ear .

” He’s not Sexy infact he is He ! She said raising both hands in surrender and the others raised their hands in surrender .

The whole time that they did small talks, I noticed her Dad was staring at me and her older brother wasn’t exempted .

” Tell me something about your people , except from the fact that you are rich of course ” he said sternly .

It’s official Mr Lerato doesn’t like me for his daughter .

Is it my looks or the fact that i am wealthy ,I don’t know yet .

” My mom is a wonderful person and ..my older sister Scarlett …” I trailed and smiled remembering her antics .

” Your Dad ? He asked and I stiffened.

” He is fine ” I said stopping immediately ,he noticed I didn’t want to elaborate so he let it slide .

” Dad I don’t think he is a bad guy ” Her brother said and I nearly sighed in relief.

” Hurt my princess and I will cut your d*ck and stick it on your forehead ” he threatened in a dangerous voice and Imani chocked on her glass of water .

“Pai….” She said embarrassed to the core.

” And if you hurt her , I will hunt you down wherever you are and fvcking mur`der you ! ” The brother added calmly but I could see he was very serious.

” I don’t intend to hurt her ” I said wondering which part of the planet I would hide after the breakup.

” I am Iya Imani , your wonderful Nigerian mother in-law ” her mom said excited.

” We are not getting married mama ” Imani said in shock and I stared from mother to child .

” Did I ask for your opinion ? She asked frowning.

” Ma he is just my boyfriend ” she said with a crying face .

” I don’t mind ” i said smiling.

” Yebo he is the man Gee” Zuri said whistling.

” Guyyyyyyyys” she Whinned.

” I don’t mind ” i said and they squiled , Well except from her Dad and Brother .

” He doesn’t mind ” her mom said smiling .

” You are such a gentleman ” she said and sat next to her husband.

Everyone is out to frustrate me tonight because why on Earth are they acting like this ?

How do I even face Mr lerato after this ? I wondered.

” Let’s say Grace before with dig in ” Mom said as we all joined our hands together .

Leonardo stared at all of us then quickly did the same .

Dad said the grace and after the prayers Leon stared at everything then at my face .

” Nothing has peanuts in them ” i said and he looked relived .

” Allergic to Peanuts son ? Mom asked.

Son ?

Just like that ? Did he place some dark magic on her or what ?

So fast ? She doesn’t even call me her daughter all the time . Sometimes I feel I am adopted and this same woman just called Leonardo her son .

” I haven’t tried anything African before , it has always been other continental dishes ” he said politely.

” And you didn’t dim it fit to try something African ? Dad asked and he looked guilty immediately.

” I…” He trailed .

” Pai Leon is always out of the country ..” I trailed .

” He’s a workaholic then ? How are you going to cope ? Is that what you want ” Pai asked Angrily.

This right here is what I hate about Mr mandla Lerato.

He is too possessive and just like that he has another reason to not approve of Leonardo.

Yet someone who knows both my parents will feel Dad is a softy .

Well he is the dotting one but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his moments .

” I don’t know how to convince you Mr lerato ,but I really hope you see me fit to date your precious daughter ”

” It’s Imani and I can assure you that when I am in I’m in .” He said .

” Awwwwwwwwn am I a toothpick ? Averyl asked dramatically and everyone burst into laughter.

” You are a fine young man ,Rich powerful ,you can any girl from a background that suits your status …” Pai trailed .

” I don’t want just any girl . It’s Imani I can’t settle for anyone else” he said and I stared into his hazel blue eyes.

I should probably get a spare heart if this is what I will be dealing with .

” Enough of the talks , let’s have dinner , Oko omo eni [ son in law ] … What do you want to eat first ?

We have south African dishes , Nigerian dishes too .

” I think I will just taste a bit of everything ” he said and mom looked extremely pleased.

” Leon do you think you can handle it …” I asked in concern .

” Allow my son taste what I prepared specially for him ” mom said going around trying to impress him.

Thought it was gonna be the other way around.

” What’s this ? Leon asked staring at it .

” It’s called cape Malay Curry ,you will like it ” I chipped in and he stared at it .

” It’s safe ” I said and he stared at me .

” Trust me it’s a South African cuisine ,it’s a savory and mild spicy curry made with whole bone in chicken cut into pieces …, served with rice ”

” I can go on and on about how to prepare it and stuffs like that but you wouldn’t be needing that now would you ?I asked teasingly.

He went all classy on us even to eat dinner and one thing I noticed is the fact that he must pick his food a lot .

Or is it because it’s not what he is used to ?

Mom went ahead and fed him .

” I think I am full ” he said drinking some water .

” Not until you finish the pepper soup Leo , Finish it ,we don’t waste food in this house . Is like they pet you a lot in your house ” mom scolded and I felt sorry for leon .

The Nigerian Cuisine is so spicy and here is my mom teaching the poor guy .

His nose looked red and eyes dropped water .

” Iya it’s enough, that’s ENOUGH!” I scolded before I could stop myself.

” Can you all just stop already ! I bursted angrily.

” Because of pepper soup ? How is he supposed to impress Yoruba people ? She asked in horror.

” Impress Yoruba people ? He’s my boyfriend not the boyfriend of your family members in Ibadan ! I bursted angrily as I stood up from the dinning table.

” I’m fine, let’s just wait a bit ” he said and I walked over to him and laced my hand on his large ones .

” Seriously ? Is he a last born ? I heard mom asking Dad .

” So he is not your son in-law again ?” I heard Dad fire back .

Tega and Omari help me bring him outside and I’ve never seen him so disorganized.

” Is he alife ? Avy asked .

” But wait oh ,this guy can’t handle Yoruba pepper or what ? Zuri asked confused .

” I warned you leo ” I said as he leaned on his car and tried to sit but I moved into his arms and held his face with concern.

” Leon are you okay ? I asked.

” Yes ,my tongue burns though ” he said with a light Chuckle.

” You don’t eat spicy food right ? Why did you eat it ? I asked frowning.

” Cause I like your mom ,your Dad doesn’t like me Imani he thinks I’m here to shift his daughters womb ” he said and I blushed as he chuckled.

” Here ” Omari handed him a cold bottle of water .

I watched him drink from it as his diamond laid fingers sparkled with drops of water .

” We Will just escuse you lovers ” Zuri teased as they left us after bringing his phone.

” I’m sorry Sir ” I Whispered softly and he chuckled.

” I should be sorry that I couldn’t handle it ,your family is a handful ” he said and I smiled.

” I know, can you drive ? You seem weak ” I asked and he rubbed his neck .

” Can you drive Imani ? I think I want to throw up ” he said and my eyes widened .
