Maddy's P.O.V ... Ignore ... Meet ... Creep ... and ... Jealousy?

Maddy's P.O.V

My vision became blurry and tears ran down my face as I saw Christopher throw his phone at the wall. He muttered 'shit' and then picked up the shattered phone. Something inside me wanted to go in his room and kick his ass. Then, I realized, I might actually kill him. Sprinting to my room, I slammed the door shut behind me.

I couldn't believe what I had heard! He’d slept with my best friend, Kay!

She was a freaking minor! He basically committed statutory rape!

Oh, how every bone in my body was begging me to kill Christopher.

"Maddy, dad brought home some Taco Bell, want some?" Lisa asked coming in my room. I immediately shook my head 'no'.

"Not hungry." I stated. I had lost my appetite from what I heard from Christopher. Lisa gave me a skeptical look.

"What's wrong?" Lisa asked me. I looked over at my bed, trying to ignore her studying look.

"Nothing, I just want to be alone." I stated in a low voice. Lisa examined me for a few more moments before nodding.

"You know where to find me if you want to talk about it." Lisa said and then left my room. I walked over to my door and locked it, not wanting anyone to come in, as I desperately needed to think about what I was going to do with the whole Kay and Christopher situation.

Ignore everyone, was the first and final decision that came mind.

So I did, I ignored everyone all night and the next morning. Some of my family members tried coming into my room and talk to me, but soon people finally got the feeling that I wasn’t in a mood to talk and stopped coming to my room.

I flipped open my laptop and got on Match.com. I smiled when I saw Flynn_1988 on. I clicked on his name and pressed Chat.

Me: Hey

Flynn_1988: Hey, Maddy, what are you up to?

Me: I'm just upset about something.

Flynn_1988: Why are you upset?

I didn't know if I should tell him. Yes, I’d been talking to him for the past four months and we were connecting, but to tell him about the whole Kay and Christopher thing... it was kind of personal for someone I never met.

Me: I don't feel right telling you, don't get me wrong, we know things about each other. But this issue is personal ...

Flynn_1988: Let's meet. I want to know you better Maddy. I want you to be able to share anything with me ... I understand that knowing someone over the Internet is not the proper way to connect. Let me take you out for coffee.

I sighed and actually found myself smiling. He wanted to meet me! Finally! I could meet this mystery guy that I have been talking to for so long.

Me: Okay, when?

Flynn_1988: Are you free this afternoon?

I remembered Troy telling me that I needed to accompany him to a party ... But that wouldn't be until later ...

Me: This afternoon is perfect! Ummm ... Wait where do you live? What if we are in different states?!

Flynn_1988: Before I requested a chat with you, I made sure the city you lived in was close to mine ... It said the city you live in is Memphis Tennessee ... Is that right?

Oh, yeah, I forgot I put that on there.

Me: Yeah, I live in Memphis

Flynn_1988: Well, I live in Olive Branch, Mississippi. It's a thirty minute drive.

Me: Oh, okay. That's not very far.

I chuckled at how I sounded like a dork.

Flynn_1988: Do you want me to pick you up at your house or do you have a car and want to meet somewhere?

Then I realized I didn't have a car. I knew damn well I wasn’t going to call Savvy for a ride. She would make me explain why I needed a ride to a coffee shop. Then when I told her it was to meet my online guy that I'd been talking to for the past three months, she would surely kill me.

Me: I guess, you can pick me up. I don't have a car right now.

I admitted, something inside of me was telling me that I had no idea who this guy was, and I was asking him to pick me up at my house. But I thought he was trust worthy enough ...

I gave Flynn_1988 my address and then he said he would there in about an hour. I literally leapt out of my bed and ran to around my room, gathering an outfit. With lighting speed I ran to the bathroom to take a shower. I saw Jamie headed towards the bathroom.

"Oh, no mister, I have plans."

"The party at Milton’s grove?" Jamie asked me. I looked at him, I bet he was talking about the party later on with Troy and them.

"I'm going to that later."

"I wouldn't go. The cops got a tipoff that something’s going to happen there tonight." Jamie said to me. Of course he would know because Jamie was a cop for the Memphis Police Department.

"Thanks for the warning, but I need to get in the shower ... I've got a date." I told him. Jamie looked at me in shock. "Why do you look shocked?" I asked in a sour tone. He composed his expression.

"Oh, nothing, it's just I would like to know the name, social security number, and address of the guy that thinks he’s going to date my sister." Jamie told me with a straight face. I sighed and rolled my eyes at him.

"You are not going to do a background check on him." I knew what Jamie was planning. He smiled.

"You know me so well."

"Well, you are my brother ... one of my nicer brothers that won’t tell dad about my little date. He would flip if he knew." My dad was very protective of me. I guess it was because I was his last daughter ... all my other sisters were older and married. Here I was, young and unmarried. Of course I'd be the one my dad tried to protect!

"Go ahead, but don't take forever." I nodded and stepped into the bathroom, but before I closed the door, Jamie stopped me by placing a hand on the door.

"Maddy, I know you aren’t very experienced with guys ... for that I want you to be careful. You are my baby sister. I understand that as you get older, you’ll start 'trying' things. But please ... be careful." Jamie told me. I nodded at him and he dropped his hand from the door and walked away.

I sat outside on my porch with my purse in my lap.

Jamie had given me pepper spray before I left the house. He told me that I shouldn't hesitate to use it if I was in any weird situation. I put it in my purse, but thought that I wouldn’t ever need it with Flynn_1988.

Wait, what was I going to call him?

Flynn?

I knew it was weird that I never asked him for his real name. I guess it slipped my mind. Soon a black mustang pulled up into my drive way. I quickly stood up as I saw a figure get out.

Omg! He was so freaking hot!

Who I was guessing was Flynn_1988 made his way to my porch.

I examined every inch of him. He was tall, muscular and had short brown hair. His eyes were a dark brown. And oh man! When he smiled I saw dimples on each side of his cheek, it made me smile back.

"Maddy?" He asked. I nodded.

"I'm J.G. Flynn." He said and then put his hand out for me to shake. I shook it, smiling like a buffoon.

"Hey, I'm Maddy." I said with a giggle. He grinned at me.

"Are you ready to go?" He asked. I nodded and followed him to the his car. Once in his car I let out a sigh. "Is something wrong?" J.G. asked me. I shook my head.

"No, I ... Actually, I was scared to go on a date with you. I didn't know if you would be some creepy weird guy." I noted. J.G nodded and smiled.

"So, what do of you think of me? Am I going to be labeled a creepy weird guy?" He asked. I shook my head.

'No, you don't ... so far." I added. We laughed and soon he pulled up to a small coffee shop. "I love this place." I said with a smile. J.G smirked.

"You do? My friend and I come here often." J.G stated. We entered and sat down at an available table. "So, Maddy what college do you go to?" J.G. asked me. I couldn't help but blush at the fact he thought I was in college.

"I go to high school." I stated, J.G. looked at me with shock.

"High School ... But I thought you were-" I cut him off.

"I'm eighteen, a senior." I said. J.G nodded.

"Oh, for a minute I thought you were… like, a minor ..." He let out a sigh of relief. I laughed.

"Well, you’re safe." I smiled. A flicker of Chris with my under-aged best friend almost messed up my mood, but I pushed all thinking of those two away…just for this date. "So, J.G. I feel as if I know you so well, since we’ve talked about our favorite colors and movies online ... I have no idea what to ask you." I told him.

"Yeah, I feel the same, I practically know everything about you." J.G said.

"Not everything." I stated remembering how I hadn’t told him about my best friends.

"Tell me." He egged on.

"Okay ... Ummm ... I have three best friends that are a huge part of my life ... I don't think I’ve told you about them." J.G. shook his head 'no' and waited for me to continue. "Well, there are four of us, me included ... uhh ... there is Savvy ... she’s the crazy, wild one that doesn't think before speaking. At times she’s very violent.' I chuckled as I thought of how she had a baseball bat in her trunk and threatened people with it all the time. "Then there is Hope, she’s the creative and smart one. Currently she is with this guy named Tom. I think they’ll be the kind of couple that will be high school sweethearts. I swear they are perfect for each other. Lastly there’s Kay. She is a shy, push over ... but lately she’s been starting to speak up for herself. " Once again, I had to push the problems away.

J.G smiled at me, distracting me.

"I don't know why you didn't tell me about them. I can tell that y'all are really close."

"Yes, have been for years." I said. "So, tell me more about you, J.G.”

"I have three sisters, and two brothers. My best friend's name is Duke. He loves messing things up, which explains why he’s here." J.G. said as he looked behind me. I saw a guy walking towards us with a smirk planted on his face. His hair was pitch black, and he had dark blue eyes that wandered all over the ladies in the room. I could see he was the play-boy type. Finally his eyes landed on me, and he gave me wink. I tried to give him a disgusted look and turned back to J.G. "Brace yourself." J.G. told me. In seconds, Duke sat down next me.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

"Hello, sugarplum." Duke said to me.

"Back off, Duke, she’s with me." J.G. said to Duke. I scooted away from Duke who was sitting very close to me. Something about Duke didn't seem right ... I felt very jittery under his presence. I didn't like it. I think J.G. sensed my uneasiness and looked at Duke. "Can you go away, I’ve just met this lovely lady, and we’d like some privacy." J.G. spoke to Duke, who looked at me.

"Baby doll, you want me gone?" Duke asked me as his blue eye pierced into mine.

"I'm on a date with J.G., not you.' I said boldly. "So, yeah, can you please go?"

"Feisty, I likey ... but I will go!" Duke got up and gave me a finally wink before walking away.

"I'm sorry about him, he doesn't have manners." J.G. said in an embarrassed tone of voice. I shook my head.

"No, no, it's not your fault ...' I admitted.

"So where were we?" J.G. asked ....

<><><><><><><><>

We spent most of the afternoon really getting to know each other. I found that his real and only friend was Duke, which meant if I was to hang out more with J.G., there would be more Duke… which I wasn’t really excited about. J.G. also told me that he went to Old Miss (College in Mississippi). He was there on a Basketball scholarship. I liked that he played basketball, I told him about my mad skills. He said that we would have to play against each other soon ... I agreed, which, I think, meant another date.

We pulled up to my driveway, and J.G. got out and opened my door for me.

"Thank you." I said as walked towards my house, J.G. following closely behind. "I had fun." I admitted when I got on the porch and faced him. He nodded in agreement.

"Me too." I couldn't help but look across the street and notice Troy. He was looking directly at J.G. and I, with ... a glare ...

Was he jealous? ... No ... he couldn't be ..

"Can I kiss you?" J.G asked me. I blushed ... no guy had ever asked to kiss me ... wait ... no guy had ever kissed me at all ...

Oh, I forgot ... Troy did, but that was not with my permission.

"Ummm, yeah." I said. J.G smirked and then leaned down and kissed me softly on my lips. I was going to go in for more, but he pulled away. I think I pouted at him, but he just smiled.

"See you later, Maddy." With that J.G walked to his car, gave me a wave and drove off. I stood there thinking he totally just teased me.

That bastard!

But, no matter what kind of bastard he was, he left me smiling and biting my lip wanting more of him.

"Who was that?" Troy asked. I hadn’t realized he was on my porch until he spoke.

"Ummm ... J.G. ..." I said.

"How do you know him?" Troy questioned.

"Match.com."

"Maddy, do you know how dangerous that site is! I didn't get mad at you for having it last night because I thought you were smart enough not to pursue those guys on there. But are you crazy!" Troy yelled at me.

"Hey! It's none of your business what I do and don’t do with my dating life! I had fun with him, unlike the boring time I have with you!"

"You don't know him."

"Yes I do."

"You only know what he’s told you. How do you know if he’s telling the truth?" Troy asked. I started to think he was actually right ... How did I know that J.G. was what he said he was?

"Because! I believe him!" I shouted.

I began to go in my house, but paused as he nearly yelled, "Maddy! Wait! I'm sorry for blowing up on you ... You’re right, it's none of my business ..." I swear he mumbled 'yet' after that, but it was probably just me. "The party starts in an hour, be ready in two." Troy said. I nodded and then walked in remembering I needed to call the others.

"Maddy! Where were you?" Christopher asked me once I entered the house.

"None of your business." I stated coldly and then went to my room. Seconds later Christopher came in.

"What's your problem?" He asked me. Flashbacks of over-hearing him last night filled my head.

"I know about you and Kay." I stated in a low voice. Christopher gave me a shocked expression.

"Maddy-"

"Leave!" I shouted to him.

"Hear me out! Please, I'm your brother, plea-" I cut him off, by pushing him until he was outside of my room.

"You are no brother of mine." With a loud slam I closed my bedroom door in his face.

Actually, now that I thought of it, a party and alcohol sounded hella good right now ....
