Maddy's P.O.V ... This Day Keeps Getting Worse, To Top It Off He Shows Up

Maddy’s P.O.V

Kay, Savvy, and I watched out my living room window, looking on as Tom’s car pulled up. Tom got out and looked like he was going to open Hope’ door, but she got out and said something, before walking towards my house.

“Is she-" Kay cut me off before I could finish my sentence.

“Crying?” She completed what I was going to say. I looked at Hope with sorrow, I wondered what happened. I saw Savvy move towards the front door. “Savvy, I wouldn’t go out there if I were you.”

“I’m going to kick Tom's ass! Make my friends cry, you shall face my wrath!” Savvy stated. I glanced back at Tom and Hope, and saw that Hope wasn’t walking towards the house anymore. Instead, I saw that Tom was cupping Hope's face, and talking to her.

“Savvy, they're talking to one another! Don’t go out there.” Savvy didn’t listen to me, and instead went outside.

“You two are late!” Savvy yelled out to them. I looked at the clock and saw that they were only five minutes late. I rolled my eyes and decided to go out there with Savvy. Knowing that Savvy might just hurt Tom.

When I got outside and stood by Savvy on the porch, I noted that Hope looked really peeved that Savvy interrupted them. Maybe they made up, and were about to kiss.

“Way to go Savvy, you ruined the goodnight kiss.” I hissed at her. She gave me a glare.

“Hey, Maddy … Savvy can you two go in? Tom and I were kind of were talking about something important.” Hope politely asked us. I nodded and turned to go back inside, but Savvy looked like she wasn't going anywhere. I sighed and grabbed Savvy's arm, giving it a little yank.

“Come on, let’s give them some privacy.” I suggested to Savvy. She shook her head ‘no’.

“I'll not let him hurt her.” I leaned over to Savvy.

“Tom will not hurt her Savvy. I can see it in his eyes, and I know you can too … He loves her. Now, come on, let them have some peace and talk.” I added in a low voice, which only Savvy and I could hear. Savvy bit the bottom of her lip.

“Savvy, just go inside.” Tom told her. Savvy started glaring at him.

Oh crap, she's going to kill him … I gripped her arm tighter and shook my head. Hoping she wouldn’t do or say something she would regret later …

See, Savvy tended to speak without thinking, which got her in trouble a lot. But, later on she would start feeling bad about saying what she said.

I knew that she hated when people were mad at her. I mean, you should've seen her when she thought someone was mad at her …“Don’t tell me what to do!” She shouted at Tom. Anger was clearly laced in her voice. Savvy's fist was balled up at her side.

“I’m not telling you what to do! I just want to talk to Hope! Alone!” He yelled back at her.

Great, Savvy's going to kill Tom...in my front yard.

Where is Kay? I wondered when I noticed she wasn't out here with us. I spotted her near the living room window, recording all this with her iPhone. I rolled my eyes and focused on Savvy and Tom.

“I don’t trust you!” Savvy called out to Tom.

“I’m not looking for your trust.” He admitted in a cold, yet challenging tone. Savvy yanked out of my grip on her arm. I tried to re-grab her arm, but she was already walking towards Tom and Hope.

“Leave!” Savvy walked over right beside Tom. Savvy started poking at Tom in anger.

“Leave, now before I do something I'll regret.” She told him.

“You don’t scare me, you're like a midget compared to my height.” Savvy kicked Tom’s leg.

“Ouch!” Tom said. He bent down to his leg and rubbed it for a second. Tom soon stood back up and gave Savvy a pained look.

“Savvy, why did you kick him? He did nothing to you!” Hope cried out.

“Don’t ever call me midget again … Do you hear me?!” Savvy asked Tom. He just started at her with a look of annoyance.

“Midget!” Tom yelled out at Savvy.

“You son of a bee-itch! I’m going to kill you!” Savvy screamed and then made a move towards him. Tom took off in the direction of his car.

“We’ll finish our talk tomorrow, Hope!” Tom shouted and then got in his car before Savvy got to him. He smirked as he locked the door. Savvy started throwing a fit.

“Oh, I thought you weren’t scared at me, you bee-itch!” Savvy yelled at him as he started his car. I watched Tom roll down his driver’s window.

“I’m not scared, I’m just afraid that if we start fighting, I might hurt you.” He admitted. Savvy threw her hands up in the air.

“Bring it! I’m not a pussy! I want you to give me your best shot …” She told him. He shook his head.

“Rain check.” With that he waved bye to Hope and took off. Hope walked up to the porch with a pissed off look.

“What’s wrong?” I asked her, she looked at me.

“Savvy's what’s wrong. Tom was about to tell me something important …” Hope stated. I sighed, knowing that tonight was going to be a long night with a lot of tension.

Oh how I hated tension!

“She was just trying to protect you.” I said, trying to get Hope to understand why Savvy did what she did to Tom. Hope sighed and turned away, making her way inside my house.

Before Hope got fully inside, without turning to face me, she said, “Tom isn't Allen. He won’t break my heart like Allen broke Savvy’s.”

I felt something freeze up beside me. I glanced next to me and saw Savvy. She must have heard Hope, because her expression was the kind Savvy had when she was trying not to cry. When Hope was inside the house and it was just Savvy and I outside, I looked at her.

“She didn’t know you would hear that.” I said, Savvy shook her head as a tear escaped her left eye.

“Hear what?” With that Savvy wiped away the single tear that fell, and walked in the house, full of denial.

“So, yeah my dad and mom were talking to me about the birds and the-“ Kay was cut off by my sister walking in my room.

“So, Dad, Mom and the boys are going to be home from the casino in an hour.” Lisa said. I nodded.

“Okay.” I stated. She left my room, and everyone went back to being silent like before. I turned my attention back to Kay, but she had a grim look on her face. I was going ask her what’s wrong when I thought of something. “Y’all are all more than welcome to stay the night if you want.” I said to them. But I really wanted Kay to stay. So, I could see why she was acting sad all of a sudden.

“I want to go home. My dad is making a Mississippi Mud Pie. I need chocolate.” Kay muttered.

“What’s wrong?” Hope asked, for we all knew that when Kay was upset, her dad made the sweetest, chocolatey pie ever … Mississippi Mud Pie ever. Layers and Layers of pure fat … yet, it was so freaking good!!!

“Oh … nothing,” I--no make that all of us--gave her a ‘yeah, right’ look. We knew she was lying. There was something that was making her uneasy, and I wanted to know.

I wonder, though, did it have to do with what Lisa said, about my dad, mom, and the boys (being my brothers) family coming home from the casino?

No, it can't be… She doesn’t have any problems with my family members … It must be something else.

“I’m going home too.” Savvy said in a low voice. “If you two want a ride home I can give y’all one.” Savvy said.

“Yeah, good, I need a ride home.” Kay stated and then she said goodbyes to all of us before leaving my room.

Man, Kay, I'll find what you are hiding!

“I’m going to walk home.” Hope told Savvy and I.

“What? Why?” I asked. Hope remained silent.

“I just need some time to think.” Hope finally said.

“Suit yourself.” Savvy said, I could hint anger in her voice.

Damn, this was irritating. The tension in the air between them all night had been suffocating me. Hope was mad at Savvy for running Tom off. Savvy was mad at Hope for saying what she said about Tom not being like Allen.

Overall, it was a lot of Kay and I talking with Hope and Savvy listening to us, not muttering a word.

All of a sudden, Savvy walked of the house after waving goodbye to me ... and not Hope.

"I don't know why the hell she's angry. The only one who should be angry is me." Hope muttered once Savvy was gone.

I turned and gave her an aggravated look.

"You're wrong about that." I stated as I leaned back on my bed until my back hit the headboard. Hope gave me a confused expression.

"Why do you say that?" She asked.

"Because of that little comment you made about her and Allen ... Savvy was right behind you when you said that, and it almost made her cry."

She sighed, and then looked down. "Oh, well, I didn't know that." She mumbled. “I am headed out, see you later.” Hope said and walked out of my room. I sighed and sat there on my bed. I was thinking of how there was always some kind of drama going on in our group.

I was itching to call Kay and find out what the hell she was upset about. But, as I sat there longer, I thought that if she wanted to tell me, she would.

I grabbed my laptop and opened it up. Seconds later I was surfing the web when I came to a familiar web site.

“Maddy can you come in here please?” Lisa asked me. I sat my laptop down beside me and followed Lisa into the living room.

There sat Troy, on my couch, eating my Flaming Hot Cheetos.

Oh. No. He. Isn’t.

I walked over to him and yanked the bag from his hand.

“Those are mine. You keep your filthy hands out of them!" I shouted at him. He smirked at me.

“Come on, Maddy, don’t be like that.” He whined as he started to lick his fingertips that had the Cheeto flavoring on them. I rolled my eyes. I think he was actually trying to look seductive.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

Ha-ha, fat chance. To me he was uglier than a cow.

“Who's uglier than a cow?” Troy asked as he got off my couch.

“You.” I said, and then looked around to find that Lisa had left the room. I sighed and then went to the kitchen. I put my Cheetos on top of the refrigerator, where they belong. Then I made myself an ice-cold glass of water before heading back to the living room. When I entered the living room… there was no Troy.

Had he left?

Or was he wandering around the house … Oh, I hope he doesn’t go in my room.

OH SHIT!

MY ROOM! MY LAPTOP! THE WEB SITE!

I took off faster than a bat out of hell toward my room. When I entered, Troy was holding my laptop, and looking at the site I had up.

S-h-i-t ...

He looked up at me with a smile.

I'm so in for it.

“Maddy, I didn’t know you had a profile on Match.com,” Troy said. I walked over to him and forcefully took the laptop out of his hands.

“How dare you, come in my room without my permission?!” I shouted at Troy.

“Why do you have a profile on a dating site, Maddy?” Troy asked. I closed my laptop and glared at him.

“You aren’t supposed to snoop around in people’s rooms, it's rude.” I said in a very angry voice. He grinned at me.

“Well, I'm not one to care about manners. Hey, guess what, Maddy? I now posses the upper hand in blackmailing. Because I’m 100 and 1 percent sure your dad would kill you if he found out his 18-year-old daughter has a profile on an online dating site.” Troy said.

“Leave,” I muttered. I could hear my dad and brothers where home by the sound of ruckus in the living room. “My dad is home and I think he has a gun with your name on it.” I stated. Troy knew my dad was not a big fan of him.

“Well, I guess I'll be heading out, but before I go ... with my new blackmailing upper hand I want you to go to the party with me tomorrow.”

“I can’t.” I lied to him.

“Well, then I'll just have to tell your dad about your profile on that dating site.” I clenched my teeth. “Oh, and I think Allen wanted me to make you bring Savvy with you. I'm pretty sure that Dylan will want Kay there. And I'm pretty sure Tom wants Hope to come too ... just bring the whole gang with you.” Troy stated. I nodded in anger and then pointed for him to leave.

I knew if he stood in my presence for one more moment, I would hit him from the annoyance that was building up inside of me. Troy laughed at me and walked out.

Damn! Why did I have to leave my laptop on?!

Gaaa!!

“Hey, Maddy.” Christopher said coming into my room, I could tell that he was slightly drunk. I sighed and then exhaled.

“Hey, did y’all win anything at the casino?” I asked. He smiled.

“Yeah, I won five hundred dollars.” I congratulated him. “Lisa said all your friends were here.” He looked around the room and noted that no one was here.

“Oh, yeah, Kay seemed upset about something and left. The others decided to leave too.” I admitted. He nodded and started to leave my room with a sad expression on his face.

“Was there a reason you came in here?” I asked. He turned and faced me.

“Uh … oh, no, I was just going to say hi and that we are back.” He said in a low voice.

“Oh, okay.” I stated and then he walked out.

I sat on my bed for a minute and then thought about how I was so screwed when it came to Troy and his blackmailing me.

He really did have the upper hand. My dad would murder me if he knew I set up a page on a dating site.

Why I did it … that was simple.

I wanted to meet a nice guy. All the men in this town didn’t give me a second look.

Yet I knew that my sister, Lisa, had found her husband, Zane (who was currently in Afghanistan), on an online dating site.

So why couldn’t I find my love on there too?

I know, I know it was weird for someone as young as I was to sign up for a dating site. I remember being too afraid to using my credit card to sign up because my dad looked at my credit card history ... So, Lisa let me use her credit card... But if he was to ever found out ... I would be so dead...

Oh, and no, I'm not hitting on forty year old pervs on here. I put on my page that I was looking for people (men) in there early twenties.

There was this one guy I'd been talking to, Flynn_1988. I have to say, he was the funniest guy I've ever met. So far I'm really connecting with him. I thought about getting on my laptop and seeing if he was on, but then I heard my stomach growl.

Food first.

I stared walking to the kitchen, but before I could reach it, I heard raised voices from the room Jamie and Christopher have been staying in while they were here for the planning of Christopher’s wedding.

I don’t know why, but curiosity got the better of me. I cracked open the door.

Christopher was in the bed with his back to me.

“I love you,” he said.

Who was he talking too? I wondered.

“I know you want me to move on, but I can’t.”

Oh, it must be the girl he loves. The one he was willing to dump the creepy, overly happy, Holly Dazer for.

“Kay Vaughn! Don’t hang up on me! Damn it! I love you! I didn’t want to leave you the night we had sex! I just didn’t think anyone would accept our relationship! I love you Kay! I love you!” I stopped … My body froze.

Before anger erupted inside of me …
