Fate is what controls our lives. I mean that's what people say and so do I. Now what is the actual definition of this word 'fate'? The so-called principle, or the power that predetermines events. If someone asks me the synonym of fate, I would say something 'inevitable'.

It's hard to begin the new chapter in life when you know someone won't be there, but the story must go on, right?

The last few words that escaped Aaron still left me in shock and I was standing there gaping at him with my mouth wide open.

I wish I can save you but, I cannot.

Why does this hurt to hear it from him? I already knew that he was going to kill me. So?

A small part of me still wanted everything that I read to be fake. A small part of me still wanted Aaron to laugh at my doubts and tell me that I have misread something or I am misunderstanding him.

But instead he told me something I could have never prepared myself for.

"Amelia? Please say something?" The look of worry on Aaron's face confused me. Why was my sadness bothering him? He was going to kill me anyways. Then?

"So, you will kill me then?" I was trying my best to hold back my tears and look at his eyes.

He took my face in his hands and caressed it slowly and replied in such a low voice that I could barely even myself, "No, Amelia. I love you."

For a second, I thought that he was saying I love you, but that cannot be possible. He must have told I will kill you.

"I will try as long as I can to not let anything happen to you."

Excuse me what? I have never been so confused in my life ever before. Not even while studying chemistry. This whole thing is more complicated than anything else I have faced my whole life.
