Amelia's POV

It often happens with us that we plan something for us but it does not go that way because your fate has some other plans for you. As the saying goes what's meant will always find its way. I wish we had way to stop from making its way to us.

I won't lie. I had started liking Aaron. Maybe something more than liking. He had hurt me in the past but after that, whatever he did just made me like him even more.

But after what I saw today, I can't stay in that house anymore. Yes, I like him but not more than my own life right now.

I started packing my bags quickly and made sure I don't leave anything behind that could help him trace me or get to know about my whereabouts. There's no way on earth, I can let him know where am I going or he will kill me.

"Ma'am, are you leaving?" Stella's voice brought me back to the reality.

"Uh." I paused thinking of a lie.

Stella used to take care of Aaron's this penthouse which has so many confidential files. Moreover, she has access to all the rooms. The fact that Aaron trusts her so much stopped me trusting her.

"I was thinking of going out with Kylie and you know have a girl's day out." I plastered a fake smile on my face and tried to show some fake enthusiasm by blabbering about the things that I would love to buy.

"But Ma'am, Sir has strictly ordered me to not let you out of this house."

My blood went cold.

Will they both kill me together? Will they give me a painful death? Is she also involved with this secretive dark thing?

Finally, I managed to gather up some courage and asked, "Why would Aaron say that? I mean, it's not that I am running anywhere."

I instantly started regretting my response. I hope she doesn't guess it by my words and actions that I am actually planning to run away far from Aaron and this place.
