Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 17

“It is three months now and Fred Bakare has not showed up. If I had known the slightest minute I would have taken him to jail”. Ada said to her husband with tears in her eyes.

Bayo hugged her from behind. “You don’t have to think of the past anymore. From now on, coolvalstories you will be comforted in my arms”.

“It is just four months since I got married to you, Bayo, and I have never been this comforted in my life. Thank you so much for being my everything. Because of the kind of father I had and the bad fiance I had, I assumed that all men were scum but despite all my obvious flaws that you saw, you took the bold step to marry me because you were for me. Thank you for loving me unconditionally, Bayo”.

He kissed her lightly on her forehead. “My love, my life, my everything. I love you so much and if I were to choose again and again I will choose you. Thank you for supporting me mentally and spiritually. In these past four months you have guided me in grooming the company and you also helped me in even coming out of my fragile nature. I love you so much my darling”.

“You love her?”. Mrs Adedeji said sarcastically as she joined them in the garden. “You love the woman that made your father fail the governorship election?”.

Bayo gasped as he looked up at his mother. “Fail? How?”.

“Few minutes ago, the result of the election got out and chief Sanni won. His daughter just called us and told us that Fred Bakare had given the green book to Elizabeth Ajayi and Elizabeth Ajayi had given it to Sanni so that he will win the election. Your father is so bitter and he said he doesn’t want to see Ada again”. Mrs Elizabeth explained grudgingly.

“My wife?He doesn’t want to see my own wife?is he aware that we can’t be separated anymore and that we are now one?”.

“You are still talking like this even after hearing that your father failed the election?”.

Chief Adedeji walked into their midst angrily with the family doctor. “That is the lady”. He pointed at Ada”. ” Do a fertility test on her”. He told the doctor as he grudgingly met Ada’s eyes. “It is four months now and you have not even given me a grandchild. If the doctor does a check up on you and discovers that there is something wrong with your womb, you are leaving this house right now”.

Tears filled Ada’s eyes as she met his eyes. “There is nothing wrong with my womb, chief Adedeji. It is just four months since I married your son. Why are you arguing about my fertility at this point in time?”.

Chief Adedeji slapped her across her face and fumed at her. “You still have the right to talk back at me after everything you did!”.

“Father, you shouldn’t slap my wife like that!!!”. Bayo snarled at his father.

“I failed the election you bastard!!!”. Chief Adedeji fired at his son.

“My wife is more important than your election!!!”. Bayo fired back at him.

“How dare you!!!”. Chief Adedeji grit his teeth at him.

“Come with me”. The doctor said politely to Ada and she politely followed him out of the house.

Ada woke up from her deep sleep after all the tests that the doctors had performed on her body.

The doctor was smiling at her when she opened her eyes.

She sat up on her bed and rubbed her sleepy eyes. “Doctor, is anything wrong with my womb?”.

“Ada, you are three months pregnant”.
