My girl Neighbour - S01 E58

Being with Emma after school was the highlight of my every day.

My Mom lets me have dinner at her place every other day.

But after dinner at the house with my parents, I will run to Emma's and spend time with her.

She even comes to visit our place and have dinner and tea with my parents.

We both made a curfew for myself. At 09:30 PM on weekdays, I should be home but during weekends, I get to stay until before midnight which my Mom approves as long as there are no sleepovers.

I just came from school when I caught up with my Mom in the kitchen.

"Hi, Hun. I saw Kate this morning, I invited her to your birthday this weekend." She yelled.

My bag fell from my hand.

"What?" I went to the kitchen to make sure I heard her right.

"She's your friend, right?"

"Why would you invite her, Mom?" I asked her, annoyance in my voice.

"Oh, Jennifer. I'm sure Emma wouldn't mind." She turned her back to me and wash the fruits she gathered in the bowl.

"Mom!!!"

What does she mean by that?

"And Sam was coming, right?"

"Well, yeah. She's gonna come by but will not stay, it's her Dad's birthday too."

"Ohh, Okay. You go, Emma's waiting for you." She shooed me away.

"Mom, why did you invite Kate?" She turned to face me.

"She was your best friend, Jen. And that was in the past, you're happy now, it shouldn't bother you anymore, you know." She turned her back again to continue what her doing.

"Wha-What? What do you mean?" I grabbed the back of our chair for strength. I know what she means but I am confused about how on earth she would know about Kate.

Yeah, I brought Kate before here in our apartment, but that was a long time. We were best friends back then, she comes regularly here as I was to hers.

My Mom turned off the faucet, carried the bowl to the table, and looked me in the eyes.

"Jennifer, do you still not know that I am your Mother and I know everything that is happening to my children under my roof?"

I was flabbergasted.

She knows! Everything!

"I even know the day Murry lost her virginity and Anne sneak out from the window to lose hers."

"Oh my God, Mom, Stop!" I covered my ears and ran away from the kitchen.

"I am your Mother! I know everything!" I heard her yell.

I didn't have the chance to change my clothes as I ran straight to Emma's.

I knocked at her door loudly and with urgency.

"Hey, somebody out there to get you?" Emma said when she opened the door and saw the terror on my face.

I walk inside and went straight to her fridge to get some water.

"What happened?" Emma followed me, worries across her face.

"My Mom..."

"You were running away from your Mom?" She cut me off.

I shook my head and continued drinking.

Emma snatched away the bottle from me causing me to spill some on my clothes and on her floor, but she didn't seem to mind.
