Hearing this, Nathan immediately went to his knees pleading with sincerity in his eyes.

“No Daniella you can’t just walk out of this marriage. Not now, please. I know I fucked up big time. I know I did you extremely wrong. But trust me, I have realised my mistakes and I am now a changed man. Please Daniella you have to forgive me and give me the chance to prove how much I’ve changed” Nathan sincerely apologised.

“You know what? I think it’s best you just go back to wherever you are coming from because never will I have anything to do with you again” Daniella said pointing angrily at him.

And with anger, Daniella left the room. And went in to spend the night in one of the empty guest rooms.

Being left with no choice, Nathan called and explained everything to Daniella’s mother. The next morning, Daniella received a call from her mother who began pleading with her to forgive her husband for whatever wrong he had done to her.

“Mother you are just saying this because you don’t know the horrible things that Nathan has done to me,” Daniella said.

“I understand my child. But there’s no marriage without a crisis or misunderstanding. And there is no man without fault in him. So please, I want you to forgive him and take him back. Remember, to err is human and to forgive is divine” She said.

“I’ve heard you mother. But I can’t promise to do as you said” Daniella said.

As she drove out of the gate while heading to work, she saw Alice (Caleb’s fiancee) standing impatiently at the side of the gate.

Seeing her, she immediately brought her car to a halt and whined down her glass.

“Hi” She greeted Alice who gave her a reluctant smile.

“Good morning” Alice greeted.

“Good morning. Why are you here? I hope all is well?” Daniella asked.

Then fumbling with her fingers, she lowered her head. Then slightly shaking her head with tears in her eyes she said,

“No, all is not well” She softly responded.

“I am running late to work. But just hop in let me hear you out” Daniella said motioning for her to enter her car.

Sitting beside her in the front seat, Daniella then asked,

“Okay, what’s the matter? Did Caleb do anything wrong to you?” She asked staring curiously at her.

Then taking a deep breath, Alice asked,

“What’s your relationship with my Caleb?” She asked.

Hearing this, Daniella’s heart sank immediately.

“Uhm…well…we…” Daniella stammered searching for the right word to describe their relationship.

“Are you two dating?” Alice added.

“No Alice. You know that’s not possible because I’m married” Daniella said.

“Exactly my point. You are married but why are you going close to my Caleb?” Alice asked.

“Alice, what gave you the impression that something is going on between me and Caleb?” Daniella asked.

“I went through his call log and found out that your number is at the top of his frequent dialled list. So Daniella, tell me the truth. What’s going on? What’s your relationship with my man?” Alice asked staring at Daniella who firmly clenched her steering with her heart pounding fast.
