I got back home and locked myself in. I cried my eyes out and fell asleep due to exhaustion.

I was woken up by my mum voice, telling me to come and eat.

I sluggishly open the door while she came in. She saw my face and couldn’t keep calm.

“What happened to you my dear? You have locked yourself in since. Won’t you eat?”. She asked with a concern look while I sobbed quietly.

She pulled my head to her chest while I held her.

“What’s wrong my child? You were not like this before, I know the kind of child I gave birth to. What happened to you ? Talk to me dear…

I narrated everything to her while she look angry.

“What’s wrong with young men if nowadays that they can’t control themselves, we all knows that you belong to him, why is he rushing himself? Must he raped you. How are you feeling now?” She asked.

“I felt pain underneath”.

“Have you clean up?”.

“No, I am Soo weak mum”.

“Let me boil some water for you, I will be the one to bath you. I know how to clean everything” she said while she lay my head on the bed.

She went to the kitchen and get the water in few minutes. She gently accompanied me to the bathroom and mixer the water with cold water. It felt warm as she poured the water on me and washed every part of my body including my head.

We both went back to the room while she clean me up before dressing me up.

She brought my food and fed me before giving me a pain relief.

I took the drug and slept off.

I still felt guilty for raping her. It’s not my fault, I was not in my right senses when she came in. I love my woman alot. How am I going to cope now? I hope she forgive me this time around.

I picked up my car keys and drive to her house. I met her mum at the door step. The woman shouted at me.

“What did you want here?” She asked in anger.

“Ma, I came to see my fiancee”.

“Which of your fiance?” She snapped at me.

“How many fiancee does he have? Have you forgotten that this is Folakemi fiancee?” My father in law interrupted from the back while she hissed before leaving my presence.

I was ushered in by my father in law with a smile on his face. The old man is Happy to see me.

“How are you Adebayo?”. He asked

“I am fine sir” I replied

“How is the wedding preparations?”.

“It’s all good sir”.

“That’s good, I know you are here for your fiancee right!

“Yes sir”

“Mama Kemmy! Call Folakemi for me”. He instructed while the woman came in… adjusting her wrapper.

“She is asleep and I can’t wake her up”.

“Bayo, your wife is sleeping ooo. What can we do? Will you stay with me till she wake up or you will come back?”.

“I will wait sir” I responded.

“Mama Kemmy, come and serve our visitor ooooo” the old man shouted while she came in with a cold juice, I thanked her while she gave me that scornful look.

“When you are done with the juice, I want to talk to you privately” she said before leaving.

I slowly sipped the juice because I am afraid of her knowing what I did to her daughter. The look the woman gave to me showed that she has heard something about me.

My father in law adjusted himself on the seat.

“This one that your mother in law wants to see you privately, hope you didn’t bring anything for her, or you guys don’t want me to see what your brought for her?” The old man joked while I smiled.

“No sir”.

“Alright ooo” he replied and picked up the newspaper beside him.

I gulped down the remaining content and went to meet my mother in law.

The old woman take me to their backyard and offered me a bench.

She also sit on a small chair.

“If I should act as the mother I am to my daughter, you wouldn’t be allowed into my home. What you did to my daughter is wrong? Very, very wrong. What has come over you? You have waited for her all these years. What makes you rape her?” She asked while my heart beat furiously. I couldn’t look into the woman eyes. I felt guilty.

“Answer me, what has came over you? Did you know how much it hurts her? I don’t know the reason why you behaved in that manner? Did you hear anything about her that gives you the guarantee that she is not a virgin? Why would you force your way into her without waiting for your day? I demand for an answer. Her father is not aware of this and if this got to him. I don’t know what he will say”.

I quickly prostrated in front of her while tears streamed down my face. I am really guilty of my offence, I was not in the right frame of mind that day.

“I am very sorry ma, I know I don’t deserve this apology…but please ma, forgive me. I know what I did was wrong. Very wrong ma. I was not in my right frame of mind due to the alcohol I consumed that day, I really treated her like a wh0re that day. I am deeply sorry ma .please help me to plead to your daughter. I know she won’t be able to see me now. I only came to apologise to her, please forgive me ma” I keep on pleading with tears strolling down my face. I really regreted my actions.

The old woman was moved to pity and told me to stand up.

“It’s okay, I will talk to my daughter but, you won’t touch her till your wedding day”.

“I won’t ma”.

“Because I don’t know the meaning of all these, your wedding day is near and I have invited everyone. I will talk to her and if she wished to see you when she wakes up. No problem, and if she don’t wish to see you, you will have to come back” she adviced while I thanked her.

I woke up feeling weak and hungry, I searched for mum everywhere and couldn’t find her.i decided to look at the backyard and met her with that kriminal.

“Mum, what is he doing here?” I asked mum interrupting their conversation.

“Ehmm…my daughter, you are awake. Please calm down and listen to me”.

“What is he doing here? Tell him to leave because I am not listening to any pleading and for your information mister man, I am calling off the wedding”. I shouted on top of my voice when a familiar voice interrupted.

“You are calling what off?” My dad interrupted while he came into contact with anyone.

“What are you calling off? Can anyone tell me what is going on?” He asked demanding for an answer while I glanced away…..
