Mother in law pov

We both ate to our satisfaction and left the plate in the dinning to relax in the sitting room when boluwatife eyes caught a white long nylon.

Out of curiosity, she quickly opened it and exclaimed.

“What’s wrong?” I rushed to her side.

“Mum! Look at this” she said pointing towards the jeweleries that laid inside the nylon.

“It’s a jewelery, was that the reason why you shout?’.

“Mum, did you know how much these jeweleries worth?” She asked with a sad face.

“I don’t know it’s worth and who could have owned it?”.

“There is no one that owned it than my elder brother wife. I need to check the remaining content inside the nylon”. She said picking up the nylon.

She was about to dipped her hand inside the nylon when Folakemi came to the sitting room.

She look shocked seeing the nylon with boluwatife.

“Ehn! Ehn!! Young lady. Who is the owner of all these gift?” I asked demanding for an answer while she rushed to snatch the nylon.

“I am talking to you”.

“I am the owner ma” she replied while Adebayo came out of his room.

“Did you bought this for your wife?”. I asked him.

“Yes mum”.

“My brother, did you know how much it worth?”.

“What kind of question are you asking me. I, that I bought something won’t know it’s worth”.

“How could you spend that huge amount of money on it for a woman. A woman you are not married to….mum, that jeweleries cost 200k”. Boluwatife shouted.

“Two hundred naira or twenty thousand? I asked.

“Two hundred thousand naira”.

“What! Folakemi, you have ruined my son. What is our family offence to you. You want him to be bankrupted. You are wicked”. I shouted at her.

Adebayo pov.

I can’t continue watching my mum harrassing my fiancee in tuhat way. I had to interfere.

“Mum, she is my wife to be. If I like I can spend twenty million on her, it is no one’s business. She is my wife, my future kids mother, please…don’t make this difficult for us” I pleaded.

“But….I am your mother and anything that concern my son, concerns me. I can’t open my eyes and let an outsider lavish your money anyhow without knowing how much struggle you have passed through. My son, you can’t marry this lady”.

I look closely at Folakemi face and could see the trail of tears on her face, she quickly dropped the nylon on the floor and picked up her bag before going out. I ran after her but lost her due to the speedy bike she mount on.

I don’t know what to do to my mum. It is high time I talk to Dad. Now is the time to choose an introduction date.

Feeling dejectedly, I walked back to the house and went straight to my room without looking at any one of them.

My mother and younger sister left afterward.

I dialled Folakemi number but it was switched off. I know she deliberately did this to avoid my call and no matter what, she won’t see me.

I will visit her in the evening. Perhaps, she would have calmed down by then.
