I quickly went to get the thick nylon in the kitchen and board a bike to the nearest market. I bought everything in the hot sun and headed back home.

I quickly slice the yam while Adebayo came into the kitchen to assist me.

I was about to use the blender to blend the melon when my mother in law came in.

“What did you want to do?”.

“I want to blend the melon ma”.

“With what?”.

“With the blender ma”.

“You Sha want to ki*ll me before my time. Why would you use any artificial product for your soup. For your information woman, I want the melon that is grinded on the grinding stone. Who taught you how to cook sef? You don’t know that any melon grinded on the grinding stone always taste better than the blender own, is this what you want to be feeding my son? I can’t believe this. Are you well cultured?”. She asked in anger when Adebayo interfere

“She don’t know that you don’t like the blender own. I will grind it on the grinding stone”.

“No, you shouldn’t be the one doing everything, you are a man for crying out loud. What is now the essence of you having a fiancee?”.

“Mum, she is my fiancee! My wife to be! Not my slave”Adebayo blurted out in anger while I quickly step in.

“Ma, I am really sorry. I don’t know that you love the grinding stone melon soup, I will get it done now. Adebayo, you can wait with mum in the sitting room while I get everything done here”. I calmly said while they both left.

I sighed out loud and quickly get everything done. I was sweating due to exhaustion but I have to please my mother in law.

After thirty minutes, I am done in the kitchen and I served everything before placing it on the dinning table.

Boluwatife is the first person to rush to the table, she opened the lid of the soup and met three pieces of meat in her plate.

“Folakemi! She called out at me while I rushed to her side.

“Why is there three meats on my plate?” She asked with a disgus**ting mood while her mum cut in.

“She served you three meats, I am coming” she said and rushed to the table while Adebayo accompained her behind.

“How many meats did you want her to serve you?” Adebayo calmly asked.

“I wanted 7 meats”.

“What! He exclaimed.

“Are you a dog? You wanted 7 meats. Is this how you eat it in your husband house?”.

“That is in my husband house not in my elder brother house”.

“Why do I have the feeling of you guys coming here to frustrate my fiancee. How did you know that she is with me?” Adebayo asked.

“What did you mean by that question? I am your mother and she is your sister, she should be able to provide her whatever she needs”.

“Adebayo it’s okay, we still have alot of meats in the pot. I will serve everything inside a plate and bring it here”. I quickly interfere.

“As a glut**ton right! My mother in law cut in.

I ignored her and went to serve the remaining meat inside the plate before dropping it on the table. I left for Adebayo room in anger while he accompanied behind.

In his room

“I am sorry Folakemi, I don’t know that they are coming today”.

“But you said that she was testing me the last time I came to your house. Is this also a test?”

“I am sorry dear, just bear with her, she will soon leave”.

“Hmm, I have heard you ooo”.

“Let’s go and eat”.

“I am not ready”.

“I am also not ready too. I will stay with you in the room”. He replied and dragged me to his arms. I relaxed my back and close my eyes.

Mother in law (pov)

I don’t know the reason why she left after serving us food, well, that is her problem. I will eat to my satisfaction. This is my son house, I suffered alot before he could get to where he is now. I can’t let a new girl snatch all the love my son have for me.

“Boluwatife, Are you sure you can finish that meat?”.

“Mum, I will finish it. When have I eat this kind of food last. Is it my husband that don’t Know how to take care of a wife that I will meet to give me the money for all these food. I will enjoy myself but mum…come to think of it. Did you think that lady will still let us collect money from my brother because I don’t trust all these new new wife”.

“When she is not mad. Will she say that her head is unfortunate that she won’t let my son to give me money. She dares not, that is why I am letting her know the kind of person I am, so that she won’t try any shit with me in the future”. I replied

“I trust you mum…but this soup is delicious ooo, she can cook”.

“Hnn, the soup that don’t have taste in my mouth”.

“It don’t have taste and you are eating it” Boluwatife teased me.

“You are not serious, I will manage it like that…but for that lady, she can’t try sh*it with me”. I said and chewed the big chunk of meat in my mouth.
